With the advancement of globalization,university students need not only to master English language skills but also to develop critical thinking and logical expression skills,both of which are crucial for academic and professional success.As an interactive and structured learning activity,English debates provide an effective platform for enhancing these cognitive and linguistic skills.This study investigates the impact of English debates on students’critical thinking and logical expression skills by analyzing pre-and post-debate assessments,survey data,and in-depth interviews with debate participants.The results indicate significant improvements in critical thinking skills,including argumentation logic,rebuttal techniques,and problem awareness.Students also demonstrated notable progress in organizing and expressing complex ideas logically in English.These findings offer valuable insights for English teaching in higher education,suggesting that debates can serve as an effective pedagogical tool for fostering both language and cognitive development in university students. 展开更多

The education reform of integrating ideological and political theories in all courses is crucial in fostering virtue through education.In the new era,foreign language courses are increasingly prominent in moral education.Learning a language is not just about mastering its language form but also about critically examining the cultural connotations and thinking patterns embedded within it.Therefore,cultivating students’critical thinking skills should be a key focus in foreign language education.First,this paper examines the importance of fostering students’critical thinking in foreign language courses.Second,considering the characteristics of Chinese college foreign language courses,we propose that if we want to cultivate critical thinking among students through foreign language courses,we need to effect pattern transformations across four aspects:teaching philosophy,teaching content,teaching methodology,and teaching evaluation.These transformations also present requirements for foreign language teachers.They should focus on enhancing their comprehensive literacy,including ideological and political literacy,teaching design skills,and the ability to integrate teaching materials with logical thinking.And China’s Standards of English Language Ability(the CSE)serves as an important reference indicator for implementing these transformations. 展开更多

Every day communication is an event in which there is an interactional relationship between interlocutors. This interaction needs whole language in which language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing; associated knowledge of vocabulary, meaning, syntax, etc.; and also, thinking skills are interwoven. This means that language should be kept whole and "if language isn't kept whole, it isn't language anymore" (Rigg, 1991, p. 522, cited in Richards & Rodgers, 2001, p. 109). In English as a Second Language/English Foreign Language (ESL/EFL) learning settings, improvement in one skill can affect the development of other skills. A particular course may highlight certain skills, but if the teacher is creative or specific tasks and problems are used in language learning settings, learners are provided with the opportunity to improve multiple, integrated skills. This paper aims at elaborating on critical thinking approach to language learning and introducing practical ideas for helping teachers to integrate language and thinking skills. It introduces 3 critical thinking activities (Dialogue journals, reading logs and literacy portfolios), and also discusses how implementing them can serves as a way to integrate language skills. It also maintains that engaging learners in these activities helps them use authentic materials and solve problems of their own interest that in turn has a positive effect on student's motivation. 展开更多

This study aims to explore the effect of project-based teaching methods on improving students’ abilities in normal universities. This study delves into the practice teaching system based on ability training implemented in normal universities, examining the application of this teaching model in teacher education and the potential challenges it may encounter. Our case study reveals that the Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach can effectively transform students from passive recipients of knowledge into active problem solvers, thereby enhancing their critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. However, challenges do exist, including ensuring active participation from all students, providing equal opportunities for each student to develop and showcase their abilities, and completing complex projects within a limited timeframe. Therefore, teachers may need to adjust their teaching strategies, and schools need to provide more resources and support. These adjustments can help the practice teaching system based on ability training better serve teacher education and offer students a higher-quality educational experience. 展开更多

[目的]探讨Sandwich教学法在护理管理学教学中的应用效果。[方法]将我院全国统招5年制护理专业本科3年级6个班学生119人随机分为对照组58人和研究组61人。对照组采用传统教学法,研究组采用Sandwich教学法,比较两种方法的教学效果。[结果]研究组考试总分明显高于对照组,且研究组多选题、论述题、案例分析题得分明显高于对照组(P<0.05)。教学后研究组学生评判性思维能力总分及寻求真相、开放思想、分析能力、评判性思维自信心、求知欲、认知成熟度6个维度得分高于对照组(P<0.05)。教学后研究组学生的学习积极主动性总分与学习驱动性、学习目标、深入学习、控制学习、扎实学习5个因子得分均明显高于对照组(P<0.05)。[结论]Sandwich教学法能有效提升护理管理学教学效果,有利于提高学生的评判性思维能力及学习积极主动性。 展开更多

Application of Case Combined with Seminar Teaching Method in Pediatric Nursing

Objective: To explore the application effect of case combined with seminar teaching method in Pediatric Nursing. Methods: Two classes in junior year were selected by convenience sampling in 2022, and the two classes were randomly divided into the intervention group and control group by tossing a coin. The intervention group utilized the case combined with seminar teaching method, while the control group used the traditional teaching-based method. The stage test average score, final exam results were compared after the end of the course. The autonomous learning ability evaluation scale and the Chinese critical thinking ability scale were used to attain students’ autonomous learning ability and critical thinking ability before and after the course. The self-made evaluation scale was used to know students’ evaluation of the new teaching method after the course. Results: 1) The stage test average scores of the intervention group and the control group were 79.13 ± 6.39 and 74.67 ± 5.25 respectively (P , the final exam scores were 79.83 ± 6.09 and 75.21 ± 4.91 respectively (P < 0.05);2) The total scores of autonomous learning ability were 118.67 ± 7.70 and 106.49 ± 7.67 respectively (P , and the total scores of critical thinking ability were 283.45 ± 7.82 and 251.37 ± 8.93 respectively (P < 0.05);3) More than 80% of the students in the intervention group believed that the case combined with seminar teaching method could deepen the understanding of knowledge, promote the habit of thinking and literature consulting, and improve the ability to analyze and solve problems, integrate knowledge and communicate and coordinate. Conclusions: Application of case combined with seminar teaching method in Pediatric Nursing improved the students’ autonomous learning ability and critical thinking ability, and strengthened the students’ understanding and application of knowledge. 目的探究理论-实践-互动式教学法(theory-practice-interactive teaching method,TPI)在儿科护理教学中的应用效果。方法选择2020年9月—2022年10月中国医科大学附属盛京医院进行儿科实习的护理本科生为研究对象。实习时间在2020年9月-2... 目的探究理论-实践-互动式教学法(theory-practice-interactive teaching method,TPI)在儿科护理教学中的应用效果。方法选择2020年9月—2022年10月中国医科大学附属盛京医院进行儿科实习的护理本科生为研究对象。实习时间在2020年9月-2021年9月者为传统教学组,给予传统教学方式教学,实习时间在2021年10月—2022年10月者为TPI教学组,给予TPI法教学。2组教学内容、授课教师及教学时间相同,统计2组教学后理论及实际操作技能成绩,教学前、后给予2组学生批判性思维能力量表(critical thinking disposition inventory-Chinese version,CTDI-CV)评价,通过学生自主学习评价量表评价2组学生学习动机、学习合作能力、信息素质、自我管理能力,比较2组教学满意度。结果TPI教学组理论知识、实际操作技能评分较传统教学组高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.001)。TPI教学组学生学习动机、学习合作能力、信息素质、自我管理能力、CTDI-CV评分较传统教学组高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.001)。TPI教学组教学满意度(97.78%)较传统教学组高(84.44%),差异有统计学意义(P<0.001)。结论在儿科护理教学中运用TPI教学法,可提升学生教学成绩、实践能力、自学能力及批判性思维能力,提升教学满意度。 展开更多

OBE理念下任务驱动教学法在儿科护生带教中的作用

目的探讨成果导向教育(outcome based education,OBE)理念下任务驱动教学法在儿科护生带教中的作用。方法根据随机数表法,将2022年3月—2022年6月在重庆医科大学附属永川医院儿科见习的76名护生分为观察组、对照组,各38名。对照组采用... 目的探讨成果导向教育(outcome based education,OBE)理念下任务驱动教学法在儿科护生带教中的作用。方法根据随机数表法,将2022年3月—2022年6月在重庆医科大学附属永川医院儿科见习的76名护生分为观察组、对照组,各38名。对照组采用常规教学法,观察组采用OBE理念下任务驱动教学法。比较2组考核成绩、自我导向学习能力(self-rating scale for self-directedness in learning,SRSSDL评分)、核心能力(competency inventory for registered nurse,CIRN评分)与批判性思维(critical thinking disposition inventory‐Chinese version,CTDI-CV评分)、教学评价以及护理质量(service quality,SERVQUAL评分)。结果教学结束后,与对照组相比,观察组考核成绩、SRSSDL评分、CIRN评分、CTDI-CV评分以及SERVQUAL评分均较高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。观察组教学好评率与对照组教学好评率对比,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。结论应用OBE理念下任务驱动教学法不仅能有效提升护生的综合素养,培养其自我导向学习能力,锻炼其核心能力与批判性思维,还有助于儿科护理质量的提升,且深受护生认可。 展开更多
