The latest view suggests the inactive core, surface pulverization, and poly sulfide shuttling effect of metal sulfides are responsible for their low capacity and poor cycling performance in sodium-ion batteries(SIBs).Whereas overcoming the above problems based on conventional nanoengineering is not efficient enough. In this work,erythrocyte-like CuS microspheres with an elastic buffering layer of ultrathin poly aniline(PANI) were synthesized through one-step selfassembly growth, followed by in situ polymerization of aniline. When CuS@PANI is used as anode electrode in SIBs,it delivers high capacity, ultrahigh rate capability(500 mAh gat 0.1 A g,and 214.5 mAh gat 40 A g),and superior cycling life of over 7500 cycles at 20 A g.A series of in/ex situ characterization techniques were applied to investigate the structural evolution and sodium-ion storage mechanism. The PANI swollen with electrolyte can stabilize solid electrolyte interface layer, benefit the ion transport/charge transfer at the PANI/electrolyte interface, and restrain the size growth of Cu particles in confined space. Moreover, finite element analyses and density functional simulations confirm that the PANI film effectively buffers the volume expansion, suppresses the surface pulverization, and traps the poly sulfide. 展开更多

In this paper, a model of transversely isotropic elastic strata is used to simulate the soil layers situated on a half space. Instead of the half space, an artificial transmitting boundary is used to absorb the vibration energy. The displacement formulas at any soil layer interface under vertical or horizontal harmonic ring loads are obtained by using the thin layer element method. From these formulas, the explicit solutions of Green's functions_the displacement responses at any interface of these strata under vertical and horizon harmonic point loads_are derived. The examples show that the method presented in this paper is close to the theoretical method and the transversely isotropic property has evident influence on the Green's functions. 展开更多

A general procedure was proposed for the analysis of such layers under arbitrary loads. The study is based on the state-space method and an asymptotic expansion technique. When the external loads are uniform, the expansion terminates after some leading terms, and an explicit representation for the mechanical field in a layer is obtained. This representation relies only on the displacement components of the mid-plane, which are governed by a set of two-dimensional differential equations similar to those in the classical plate theory. Consequently, obtaining the solution to the two-dimensional equations immediately gives the three-dimensional responses of the layer. As an illustrative example, a clamped elliptical layer under a uniformly distributed transverse load is analyzed in detail. 展开更多

By introduction of transmitting matrices'technique for layered structure, mixed equations with stresses and displacements are derived from the basic equations of transversely isotropic elasticity. Then, using Fourier transformation and the general solutions in Zhou et al.[7],the point force solution for transversely isotropic elastic layer is obtained and it can be degenerated to the corresponding solution of isotropic medium. In this paper, all equations are derived by the use of computer algebra software. 展开更多

Frost heave is an upward swelling of soil during cryogenic conditions in cold regions. It is caused by the accumulation of ice crystals in subgrade soil, which grow upwards when freezing temperatures penetrate into the subgrade. This study establishes the allowable soil subgrade frost heave based on the roughness standard of asphalt pavement in China, and aims to balance the pavement design and frost heave resistance of subgrades in cold regions. We formulated a mechanical model of pavement supported by the boundary conditions of differential frost heave, based on the elastie layered system theory. The differential soil subgrade frost heave was modeled as a sinusoidal function, and the allowable frost heave and the roughness index were modeled as the displacement boundaries for the top and bottom of the pavement structure. Then the allowable frost heave was back-calculated according to the roughness standard. Numerical results show that the allowable frost heave depends on the pavement structure, material properties, the highway grade, and other factors. In order to ensure that the actual soil subgrade frost heave is lower than the allowable frost heave, pavement structures and materials need to be selected and designed carefully. The numerical method proposed here can be applied to establish the frost heave re- sistance of subgrade when the pavement structure and materials are determined. 展开更多

We study shear-horizontal (SH) waves in a rotated Y-cut quartz plate carrying an isotropic elastic layer of finite thickness. The three-dimensional theories of anisotropic elasticity and isotropic elasticity are used for the quartz plate and the elastic layer, respectively.A transcen-dental frequency equation that determines the dispersion relations of the waves is obtained. The dispersion relations are obtained and plotted by solving the frequency equation using MATLAB.Approximate dispersion relations are also obtained analytically for two special cases. One is for long waves whose wavelength is much larger than the plate thickness. The other is for the case of a very thin elastic layer. The effects of the elastic layer on the dispersion relations are exam-ined.The results obtained are fundamental and useful to acoustic wave sensors for measuring the mechanical and geometric properties of the elastic layer. 展开更多

A unified theory for calculating the noise radiation of an infinite elastic plate excited by the turbulent boundary layer pressure fluctuations is presented . Using the wave number frequency transfer function to desribe the whole system , consisting of the plate and the liquid loading, a general expression of the cross spectrum was derived. It is an integral in the complex wave number plane and leads to a sum of the residues at the poles of two types. One pole introduced by the convective ridge of the pressure fluctuations yields a direct transfer component , which is an evanescent wave in liquid because the pole lies in the high wave number region . The other poles introduced by the transfer function of structure produce the radiation field components with the resonance modes of a liquid loaded plate. The pole positions and their residues can be computed approximately by use of the Resonance Scattering Theory . For the case of hydrodynamic noise, where the range of the frequency-thickness product of interest is relatively low , the symmetric zero-order mode dominates the noise radiation. 展开更多

A stationary clearance link algorithm(SCLA)for calculating the reaction-force of revolute clearance joints in crank slider mechanisms is proposed in this paper. The SCLA is more efficient than other algorithms of the same accuracy.Furthermore, based on the Winkler foundation model,an unsymmetrical Winkler foundation model and a double elastic layer Winkler model are proposed.By integrating a dynamic model and the unsymmetrical Winkler foundation model with Archard wear model,an improved integrated wear prediction model is also generated.A series of experiments have been performed to compare with the predicted analysis data, and the results showed a good agreement. As a real industry application, with the double elastic layer Winkler model, the integrated wear prediction model was successfully used to predict the wear depth of the joint bearing(bimetallic bearing)for the cantilever crane of a concrete pump truck of Sany Heavy Industry. 展开更多

Surface effects often play a significant role in the mechanical properties of soft materials such as hydrogels and biological tissues. In this paper,we investigate the plane-strain indentation of a soft elastic layer bonded to a rigid substrate. The surface effects on the indentation behavior of the elastic layer-substrate system are theoretically analyzed.Indentation tests using indenters with different elliptical shapes are compared.Analytical expressions are derived for the indentation force-displacement relation using the Kerr model with the effect of surface tension. The theoretical solution is verified by finite element simulations. The dependence of surface effects on the ratio of the indenter’s major and minor elliptical axes is also examined. This work helps understand the size effects on the indentation behaviors of soft materials and guides the design of corresponding measurement tests. 展开更多
