The Construction and Competitiveness of Operation Model of Agricultural Industrial Cluster

Through reviewing the viewpoints of former scholars, the connotation and features of supply chain of agricultural industrial cluster are introduced. The agricultural industrial cluster model constituted by core network and supporting network is constructed. Three operation models of this kind of supply chain is described: the model takes wholesale market of agricultural products as the core; the model take pillar industries of agricultural industrialization as core; model takes the chains of retail enterprises as core. The competitiveness of agricultural industrial cluster is researched. The research assumes that the competiveness of supply chain of agricultural industrial cluster is mainly represented to make the agricultural industrial cluster to acquire more capabilities in terms of innovation and knowledge sharing capability, resource allocation capability, agile market adaptability and distinct value creation capability.

Research on Competitiveness of County Economy Based on Factor Analysis and Cluster Analysis——Taking 88 Counties in Guizhou as Samples

17 indices are selected,such as the growth rate of total regional output value,the proportion of tertiary industry in GDP,per capita financial expenditure,and soil erosion rate of Guizhou Province in 2009.According to the relevant indices data of statistical yearbook and governmental website,by using the method of factor analysis and the method of cluster analysis,we assess the competitiveness of county economy in 88 counties of Guizhou Province.The results show that the competitiveness of county economy in Guizhou Province is impacted by factors of location and economic foundation.In addition,the resources environment,economic structure,economic developmental speed and other factors also impact the competitiveness of county economy in Guizhou Province.Based on these,in the light of the developmental characteristics of different counties in conjunction with different developmental advantages in different regions,we should adopt different developmental strategies according to local conditions,which is significant to rapid,healthy and sustainable development of county economy in Guizhou Province.

Research on the Competitive Power of the Industrial Clusters in China

Industrial clusters have been an important phenomenon of the global economy. The most important reason for its becoming the focus of people＇s attention and the popular mode of industry programming is continuous and powerful competitiveness ,The article analyzes this competitiveness, and points out some problems of China＇s industrial clusters, which directly affects its current competitiveness and further development. Finally, we propose stone specific measures of those problems.

Cluster Based Strategy to Improve Competitiveness of Rare Earth Industry in China——Taking Emerging Rare Earth Industry Cluster in Baotou As An Example

China′s rare earth industry has shown its strong competence, but notably this competence is mostly based on the comparative advantages in natural resources and production costs that will not provide a long-term momentum for the growth of the industrial competitiveness. It has become an urgent task now for China′s rare earth industry to improve its competitiveness through adjusting the product structure and enhancing the technological application, to gain much healthier and more sustainable growth in the future. This paper aims to present a new development strategy based on the industry cluster theory to improve the competitiveness of China′s rare earth industry with a case study on the emerging rare earth industry cluster in Baotou. The paper first reviews the cluster theory and explains why it matters to industrial competitiveness briefly, and then proposes a general framework for implementing cluster policies and strategies in practice. Following that, a case to study the emerging rare earth industry cluster in Baotou was presented and a cluster initiative based on the general framework was developed. The objectives of the cluster initiative and the role of government on initiative organizing and cluster upgrading were discussed in detail. In the end, general implications drawn from the case of Baotou were summarized, which try to provide some insights for applying cluster-based strategies to the rare earth industry of China.

Factor and Cluster Analysis on the Competitiveness of Agri-food Processing Industry in China

This paper establishes 13 evaluation indicators for the competitiveness of agri-food processing industry,uses factor analysis to evaluate the competitiveness of agri-food processing industry in 31 provinces(cities,autonomous regions)of China,and does cluster analysis to divide these regions into several categories according to the difference in competitiveness,in order to understand the level of competitiveness of agri-food processing industry in China.

Research on Tourism Competitiveness of Chinese Island Counties:Based on Factor and Cluster Analysis

From the perspective of tourism competitiveness,the paper takes 12 island counties of China as the research object,and applies the method of factor analysis to study their competitiveness.The result shows that Putuo and Dinghai are more competitive while Pingtan and Nan'ao are less competitive.Finally,the 12 island counties are divided into four styles:first-class competitive county (Putuo),seond-class competitive counties (Dinghai,Yuhuan),third-class competitive counties (Chongming,Daishan,Changdao,Changhai and Shengsi),fourth-class competitive counties (Dongshan,Dongtou,Pingtan and Nan'ao) by cluster analysis.The classification of island counties is to clear their relative position,then to promote their development.

Analysis of competitiveness of Gannan navel orange characteristic industrial cluster

The competitiveness of navel orange characteristic industrial cluster lies in three aspects. First is the competitiveness of specific resources. The second is the competitiveness of market. The third is the competitiveness of manpower, organization and system background .An evaluation model on competitiveness of navel orange characteristic industry cluster is established with AHP in this article. The conclusion is that the competitive essence of navel orange characteristic industry cluster refers to the quality of the soil, the climate, the geographical position and the transportation condition which the cluster has. Compared with the navel orange characteristic industry clusters in western developed countries, especially in USA, the disparity of competitiveness of Gannan navel orange characteristic industrial cluster （GNOCIC for short） is obvious from a global perspective. Compared with the navel orange characteristic industry competitive advantage of GNOCIC is extremely obvious. clusters in Three Gorges, and Sichuan Province, the competitive advantage of GNOCIC is extremely obvious.

A New Method for Clustering Based on Development of Imperialist Competitive Algorithm

Clustering is one of the most widely used data mining techniques that can be used to create homogeneous clusters.K-means is one of the popular clustering algorithms that,despite its inherent simplicity,has also some major problems.One way to resolve these problems and improve the k-means algorithm is the use of evolutionary algorithms in clustering.In this study,the Imperialist Competitive Algorithm(ICA) is developed and then used in the clustering process.Clustering of IRIS,Wine and CMC datasets using developed ICA and comparing them with the results of clustering by the original ICA,GA and PSO algorithms,demonstrate the improvement of Imperialist competitive algorithm.

Competitiveness of the Kelp Industry Cluster in Rongcheng City,Shandong Province

In order to study the development status of kelp industry in Rongcheng in recent years, the centralization degree of kelp industry clusters and the comparative advantage of kelp industry in Rongcheng, Xiapu and Jinpu from 2010 to 2020 were compared and analyzed by indicators such as location quotient index, industrial agglomeration index, coefficient of concentration, scale advantage index, efficiency advantage index, and comprehensive advantage index, and the deep-seated factors affecting the competitiveness of kelp industry in Rongcheng were analyzed. Meanwhile, measures of improving the competitiveness of the kelp industry cluster in Rongcheng were put forward.

Aerospace Clusters and Competitiveness Poles： A France-Quebec Comparison

Aerospace product development and manufacturing are key components of the air transport system. At national levels in developed countries, the aerospace industry is considered as a highly strategic sector. A solid national aerospace industry is therefore a symbol of strength. Countries are pragmatic： the positive impact of a well-developed transportation network on economic growth is indubitable and civil aircraft production is a key element of this network. Countries may also assert their sovereignty by being recognized players in the defence segment of aerospace. This paper will look at the cases of France and Quebec where local governments have invested significant public funding in poles of competitiveness （in the case of France） and clusters （in the case of Quebec）. While our examination of the France and Quebec aerospace scenes reveals a surprisingly large number of groupings, it does not indicate that all their members, large and small, equally benefit from participating in them. In this thick institutional environment, aerospace clusters and poles of competitiveness may compete against each other and become self-serving rather than representing and promoting their members.

Research on Industry Cluster Competitiveness Based on DEA-Ridge Regression Two-step Method--,Taking the Hunan Automobile Industry Cluster as an Example

Based on DEA - Ridge Regression two-step method, the paper tries to construct industrial cluster competitiveness research framework for empirical analysis, and by the Hunan automobile industry cluster as an example. The study found that Hunan automobile industry cluster competitiveness is relatively weak, full of the very big promotion space; further research shows that the human capital investment, fixed capital investment, land investment and policy support are the main factors influencing the efficiency of automobile industry cluster in Hunan province.

Some Comments on Embeddedness, Knowledge Transfer, Industry Clusters and Global Competitiveness

This paper develops a dynamic theoretical framework for global competitiveness, which describes the relationships among organizations in an industry cluster. The spiral for knowledge transfer, culture variables and embeddedness influence knowledge transfer. Embeddedness and knowledge transfer are the key determinants of industry clusters that lead to global competitiveness. Industry clusters are characterized by external economies, generalized reciprocity and flexible specialization.

On Competitiveness of Agricultural Industrial Clusters in Hubei Province Based on GEM Model

Firstly, this paper summarizes concept of the agricultural industrial cluster and GEM model. Then, it analyzes the competitiveness of agricultural industrial clusters in Hubei Province from three aspects, namely, the foundation, enterprises and market. In the aspect of the foundation, Hubei Province has superior geographical location, rich natural resources, abundant human resources, diversified capital sources, and hardware and software facilities. In the aspect of enterprises, agricultural suppliers (farmers) are relatively scattered in Hubei Province, organizational level of relevant enterprises is constantly improved, and structure and strategy of enterprises are constantly innovated. In the aspect of market, the competition of agricultural products is fierce in local market, and it is difficult to explore external market. Finally, it presents countermeasures to improve the competitiveness of agricultural industrial clusters in Hubei Province, including building agricultural industrial park and cultivating key leading enterprises, strengthening innovation management, and increasing financial support.

Competitiveness Analysis of Processing Industry Cluster of Livestock Products in Inner Mongolia Based on "Diamond Model"

Using Michael Porter's "diamond model", based on regional development characteristics, we conduct analysis of the competitiveness of processing industry cluster of livestock products in Inner Mongolia from six aspects (the factor conditions, demand conditions, corporate strategy, structure and competition, related and supporting industries, government and opportunities). And we put forward the following rational recommendations for improving the competitiveness of processing industry cluster of livestock products in Inner Mongolia: (i) The government should increase capital input, focus on supporting processing industry of livestock products, and give play to the guidance and aggregation effect of financial funds; (ii) In terms of enterprises, it is necessary to vigorously develop leading enterprises, to give full play to the cluster effect of the leading enterprises.

The Industrial Cluster of the Primary Agriculture Based on "Diamond Model"

The status quo and problems of industrial cluster of the primary agriculture is discussed by dividing the cluster into primary cluster and advanced cluster and by using Michael Porter's Diamond Model from the five aspects including production factors, demand factors, relevant industry and supporting industry, the strategy and structure of enterprises and horizontal competition and opportunities and government. In the end, the countermeasures on promoting the development and expansion of industrial cluster of primary agriculture are put forward. Firstly, intensifying the training on farmers and introduce into advanced science and technology results; secondly, perfecting the construction of infrastructure, creating famous brand and widening the channels for funding; thirdly, strengthening the development of relevant industries and supporting industries; fourthly, perfecting land transfer system; improving the degree of systematization and cultivating pillar industries; fifthly, intensifying the government' support on industrial cluster.

Clustering based segmentation of text in complex color images

We propose a novel scheme based on clustering analysis in color space to solve text segmentation in complex color images. Text segmentation includes automatic clustering of color space and foreground image generation. Two methods are also proposed for automatic clustering: The first one is to determine the optimal number of clusters and the second one is the fuzzy competitively clustering method based on competitively learning techniques. Essential foreground images obtained from any of the color clusters are combined into foreground images. Further performance analysis reveals the advantages of the proposed methods.

Industrial clusters which create competitive advantage are new trends in industry development. Establishing innovatory clusters in city suburbs which provide better environments for cluster development in return will greatly accelerate the development of suburbs. Thus there are reciprocal interactions between industrial clusters and city suburbs development. The relations and some suggestions about how to plan industrial clusters in suburbs were given.

Clusters, Governance and Sustainability

One of the most important aspects of current economical and social reality of each local and regional territory, and very much determinative for its economic development potential, is the nature of its territorial organization of the productive processes, as well as, the characteristics, and sophistication level, of the enterprise strategies that are functioning in it. This paper seeks to contribute to the ongoing discussion on the role of clusters as engines of economic and social development and sustainability of local and regional territories. Based on a study research methodology, we intend to answer to the following research questions： （1） What is the importance of clusters in the increment process of the local and regional conditions of governance and sustainability？ （2） How specific models of clusters＇ governance can contribute to greater territorial setting of enterprises and to increasing the sustainability of its development strategies？ （3） To what extent industrial public policies can increase the sustainability of development solutions for local and regional economies？

How to Improve Urban Competitiveness

Urban competitiveness has been the hot topic for researches and studies over years. The aim of this paper is to elaborate urban competitiveness. First, definition of competitiveness is discussed in detail and then the differences of competitiveness of nations and enterprises are presented. In Section 2, urban competitiveness is defined. Since the assessment of urban competitiveness is the focus of many studies, Section 3 elaborates four models or frameworks for assessing urbancompetitiveness. Last, but by no means the least, Chengdu has been discussed as a case on how to improve urban competitiveness. Three suggestions are put forward, which are clustering strategy, more efficient governance and urban marketing campaigns respectively.

生态位视角下创新型产业集群竞争力测度研究

创新型产业集群是通过聚合创新形成现代产业竞争优势的战略性力量。在生态位理论视角下,构建创新型产业集群竞争力评价的理论分析框架,选取技术、组织、资本、服务创新资源生态位因子,运用生态位宽度、重叠度、适宜度及竞争力综合评价模型对中国70个创新型产业集群的生态位竞争力进行多维测度。研究发现,中国创新型产业集群的生态位宽度呈递增趋势,涵盖的资源空间日益广泛,资源聚合竞争力逐年增强;生态位重叠度存在过度竞争、过度分散等问题,其中地理位置邻近、主导产业相同的创新集群间生态位重叠度偏高;生态位适宜度总体偏低,进化动量总体较高,说明多数集群在生境适应能力方面的竞争力较弱,与领先集群间差距较大,但呈现出较好的成长性。生态位竞争力综合分析显示,创新集群形成了由四个梯队构成的产业创新空间格局。从产业特征看,新一代信息技术及相关服务业集群的生态位竞争优势明显,而节能环保、高端装备与新能源汽车产业的创新集群则处于生态位竞争劣势;从空间维度看,南部沿海区域的创新集群生态位竞争力最强,形成珠三角经济圈创新生态高地,而大西北区域的创新集群则面临着创新生态脆弱性的挑战,存在更大的进化动量空间。据此,提出资源协同集聚、集群错位竞争和区域协调发展策略以进一步提升中国创新型产业集群的生态位竞争力。
