The quality life and the happiness index of 93 patients with cancer living in the six communities in Jillin were assessed, the assessment of the life quality was based on a life quality scale (SF-36) and that of the happiness index was based on Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale of Happiness (MUNSH). The community nurses cared for these patients by applying the theory of human care and the life quality and the happiness index of the patients were observed after the care. The results showed that there were significant differences in the score of 5 dimensions in the eight dimensions of the life quality between before the care and after the care (<0.05), and there were significant differences in the average sores of the positive emotion, positive experience, negative emotion, negative experience and level of happiness included in the happiness index between before the care and after the care (<0.05), suggesting that the theory of human care can be used for the care of patients with cancer and the application of the theory can effectively improve the life quality and the happiness index of the patients, strengthen their problem-solving abilities and let them have a positive attitude towards their lives.展开更多

It creates spaces that strongly promote social and cultural behavior. Meanwhile, life developments and the stunning technological acceleration along with high population densities have led to many problems for the old cities and their centers, which were not prepared to address these problems. Most of these problems have caused much visual deterioration and economic recession for the centers of old cities, which raise the importance of finding alternative and flexible solutions to prevent damage in urban performance, environmental pollution and lack of requirements that affect the quality of life. The paper aims to present a vision that opens up prospects for subsequent research contributions that may contribute to improving the quality of life, inspired by sustainability and humanization features. The research relies on an inductive analysis method to develop a framework that contributes to the restoration of the old centers for their role, their aesthetic value and their functional importance, while facilitating movement and supporting their valuable architectural features.展开更多

The tree's unconcealedness, in this life and presumably the next, along with the moral habits an agent develops in this life explain the obstinacy of the dead, that is, how the agent's irrevocable decision to side with the God of Abraham, or not, is possible. For that to be the case, the existential relationships that generate personal identity in this life must accompany (individuate) the subject in the next life. In Christian philosophy, the person-making process mirrors the relationships of the Blessed Trinity. While Martin Heidegger is not a Christian philosopher, his view on truth and being's unconcealedness provides a useful piece of the argument to continue the Thomistic case for personal immortality. Heidegger is not a catholic philosopher, but the focus he places on being's unconcealedness is consonant with the focus Thomas Aquinas puts on the intelligibility of being. While Heidegger's discussion of being is rooted in Dasein's finitude, the Thomistic interpretation of being situates unconcealedness within the perspective of God's creative act. His vision resets the possibility of applying Heidegger's fundamental ontology beyond temporality. The paper develops through a discussion of the Tree's "branches, trunk, and roots" to conclude that the Christian perspective transforms Heidegger's view of death into "the ultimate possibility of possibility."展开更多

The Human Development index (HDI) that is published by the United Nations Development Programme is widely accepted and practiced by many people such as academicians, politicians, and donor organizations. However, though the development of HDI has gone through many revisions since its formulation in 1990, even the current version of the index formulation published in 2016 needs research to better understand and to gap-fill the knowledge base that can enhance the index formulation to facilitate the direction of attention such as release of funds. Therefore, in this paper, based on principal component analysis and K-means clustering algorithm, the data that reflect the measures of life expectancy index (LEI), education index (EI), and income index (II) are analyzed to categorize and to rank the member states of the UN using R statistical software package, an open source extensible programming language for statistical computing and graphics. The outcome of the study shows that the proportion of total eigen value (i.e., proportion of total variance) explained by PCA-1 (i.e., first principal component) accounts for more than 85% of the total variation. Moreover, the proportion of total eigen value explained by PCA-1 increases with time (i.e., yearly) though the amount of increase with time is not significant. However, the proportions of total eigen value explained by PCA-2 and PCA-3 decrease with time. Therefore, the loss of information in choosing PCA-1 to represent the chosen explanatory variables (i.e., LEI, EI, and II) may diminish with time if the trend of increasing pattern of proportion of total eigen value explained by PCA-1 with time continues in the future as well. On the other hand, the correlation between EI and PCA-1 increases with time although the magnitude of increase is not that significant. This same trend is observed in II as well. However, in contrast to these observations, the correlation between PCA-1 and LEI decreases with time. These findings imply that the contributions of EI and II to PCA-1 increase with time, but the contribution of LEI to PCA-1 decreases with time. On top of these, as per Hopkins statistic, the clusterability of the information conveyed by PCA-1 alone is far better than the clusterability of the information conveyed by PCA scores (i.e., PCA-1, PCA-2, and PCA-3) and the explanatory variables. Therefore, choosing PCA-1 to represent the chosen explanatory variables is becoming more concrete.展开更多

We evaluated and compared the significance and impact of the economic loss caused by road traffic accidents in Sudan using detailed information on road traffic accident casualties, classified by severity level, vehicle type, and other key parameters such as discount rates and medical and insurance information for Sudan in its entirety. The total cost of road traffic accidents in Sudan in 2010 was estimated at US $391 million, which represents 0.57% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), while in 2011 the cost was calculated to reach US $413 million, representing 0.62% of GDP. Findings show that the amount of accident costs is estimated to a certain extent at less than 1% of the total GDP of the country in the two estimation years, but we believe that the evaluation process used fulfilled the eligibility criteria of HC studies and that the produced values for Sudan are valid and reliable. Unit costs for each crash severity level were also estimated in the two years such as death, disability, serious injury, slight injury, and vehicle damage. Death or fatality was equal to US $38,932 and 39,508;disability was equal to US $43,113 and US $45,165;serious injury was equal to US $6963 and US $7596;slight injury was equal to US $2570 and US $3198 and vehicle damage only was equal to US $2268 and US $2579 in the assessment years 2010 and 2011, respectively.展开更多

The serial play, including six parts,1 displays the life of ordinary people, primarily the middle and labor classes. Historically, Human Condition tells about Taiwan Residents' life from the period of Japanese occupation in Taiwan to the present day. The public's everyday life and their cultural activities are delicately represented on the stage. Human Condition especially focuses on people living in Taipei city, the capital and most populated place of the country. In different historical periods and political atmospheres, the characters' economic and social activities, nostalgic feelings about the past, passions for love and friendship, and awakening of fighting for humanity and freedom construct their social positions as well as establish different aspects of Taipei. We can see the transformation of the city by means of people's social relationships and economic activities. Drawing on Henri Lefebvre's concept of everyday life as rhythmic movement and spatial practice in the process of urbanization, this paper aims at studying the characters' social practice that defines their position and formation of identity within place. Human Condition unravels the characters' connection and disconnection from place in each period of Taiwan's historical and political conditions. The life in Taipei differs from each historical, economic, and political system that defines people's attitudes and perspectives toward this land. The characters within every historical background and political system tell us what Taipei represents and symbolizes to people. The transition of Taipei produces impacts on people that endow them with different personalities and perspectives toward life. As globalization invades into this city, the definition of human in city life has to be reconsidered. As a place of encounter, accumulation of cultural hybridity in Taipei formulates multiple dispositions and social structures. By analyzing the characters represented in every historical period of Taipei, this article interrogates to what extent of "in-place" or "out-of-place" of the characters is interpreted in this space and, in the progress of urbanized development of Taipei, what the value is to affect and connect people's relationships.展开更多

The research relies on an inductive analysis method to develop a framework that contributes to the restoration of the old centers for their role, their aesthetic value and their functional importance, while facilitating movement and supporting their valuable architectural features.
文摘The "Tree of Death" is a metaphor I use to unlock my Christian assumptions on how the dead attain eternal existence in the afterlife state. The paper develops through a discussion of the Tree's "branches, trunk, and roots" to conclude that the Christian perspective transforms Heidegger's view of death into "the ultimate possibility of possibility."
文摘To categorize the nations to reflect the development status, to date, there are many conceptual frameworks. Therefore, choosing PCA-1 to represent the chosen explanatory variables is becoming more concrete.
文摘In this study, we used the Human Capital (HC) accident analysis method, to determine the road traffic accident costs in Sudan in two successive years (2010 and 2011) with slight modifications to the recommended and known framework in the way it handles currently and future accident cost components. Death or fatality was equal to US $38,932 and 39,508;disability was equal to US $43,113 and US $45,165;serious injury was equal to US $6963 and US $7596;slight injury was equal to US $2570 and US $3198 and vehicle damage only was equal to US $2268 and US $2579 in the assessment years 2010 and 2011, respectively.
文摘This paper tries to discuss everyday life and its relation to urban experiences in different aspects of Taipei City in Human Condition, performed by Greenray Theatre in Taiwan since 2001. By analyzing the characters represented in every historical period of Taipei, this article interrogates to what extent of "in-place" or "out-of-place" of the characters is interpreted in this space and, in the progress of urbanized development of Taipei, what the value is to affect and connect people's relationships.

文摘In his letter to the symposium commemorating the 70thanniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward that"people’s happy life is the greatest human right".The academic implication of this important exposition is that it puts forward a major concept, the right to a happy life as a human right,in the field of hum an rights. The right to a happy life is the right that people pursue, enjoy and realize a happy life, which belongs to the general right, that is,the"bundle of rights".Teleological interpretation provides a strong defense for the right to a happy life. However, teleological interpretation may bring many risks, which may get the right to a happy life into many dilemmas, such as the loss of dignity due to the degradation of"human"as a tool, the loss ofjustice due to the damage to the human rights of a few individuals or groups, the possible violation of human rights due to the promotion of the expansion of government power, and the difficulty of universal recognition due to differences in the pursuit of happiness and the happiness itself. Therefore,we must adhere to the"people-centered"principle and justice to enhance the government’s serious handling of human rights and reach an overlapping consensus in the pursuit of happiness,so as to restrict the teleological interpretation of the right to a happy life in a rational manner and promote the development of China’s human rights cause.

文摘A happy life is the pursuit, enjoyment, and realization of ever more complex needs in a circular way under objective conditions In terms of its constituent elements, the right to a happy life,as a human right, not only has the characteristics of moral rights, universal rights, and rights of prevention and cooperation but also contains the three spiritual values of human rights From the perspective of the genealogy of human rights theory, the right to a happy life as a human right is a new human rights bundle with basic, comprehensive, and complex characteristics From the perspective of the basic structure, the right to a happy life,as a human right, constitutes its subject, content, and nature First and foremost, basic human rights stand for consensus at the current primary stage They are fundamental and preliminary, and they are relativistic concepts The largest human right, however,is characterized by complexity, inclusiveness, and systematism, and is an absolute concept From the basic human rights to the largest human rights is a classic expression in different stages of China’s human rights construction It is not only the obligation and commitment in human rights practice, but also a summary of human rights theory, and more importantly,an important theoretical achievement of China’s human rights development in the new era.
文摘Only on the premise of the safety of life and good health can human beings have the opportunity to fully enjoy and develop various rights, achieve a state of free and comprehensive development and pursue the highest value of human rights. In 2020,the COVID-19 pandemic spread globally.Under the guidance of the“people-centered”human rights concept,China has put people’s life and health in the first place, and safeguards the people’s right to life and health as its primary task and important mission.Facts have proven that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping at the core, the people’s right to life and health has been guaranteed, which fully demonstrates the value in the“people-centered”human rights concept that people’s interests are above all else.

文摘Attempts were made to culture Spirulina platensis in human urine directly to achieve biomass production and O2 evolution, for potential application to nutrient regeneration and air revitalization in life support system. The culture results showed that Spirulinaplatensis grows successfully in diluted human urine, and yields maximal biomass at urine dilution ratios of 140-240. Accumulation of lipid and decreasing of protein occurred due to N deficiency. O2 release rate of Spirulina platensis in diluted human urine was higher than that in Zarrouk medium.
