At present,the Lu an Radio and Television Tower is the tallest building in Anhui Province,and it is easily struck by lightning during the thunderstorm season.In order to clearly understand the lightning environment around the TV tower,based on the lightning positioning monitoring data provided by the Anhui Meteorological Bureau,the distribution characteristics of six lightning parameters within 5 km of the TV tower were studied firstly.Secondly,combined with the field survey data,a soil model was established,and the distribution of ground potential and other related parameters were simulated using CDEGS software,which can provide certain reference for the subsequent lightning protection design and construction. 展开更多

Study on Lightning Transient Ground Potential in the Chaoyang Mountain Wind Farm

In order to get the distribution characteristics of lightning transient ground potential of 100 MW wind farm in the Chaoyang Mountain,Jinzhai County,the characteristics of lightning parameters within 5 km of the wind farm were analyzed based on the lightning monitoring data from 2006 to 2020 provided by Anhui Meteorological Bureau.According to the on-site geological investigation,a double-ring ground network model was established to simulate the three-dimensional transient contact voltage and step voltage distribution of a typical wind fan was obtained through simulation.The results show that the average lightning current amplitude around the wind farm was 44 kA,instead of 10 kA in the current traditional simulation research,which is used as the excitation source for the subsequent simulation of lightning transient ground potential.The peak value of lightning transient contact voltage of the single wind turbine is 2158.35 V,and the peak value of lightning transient step voltage is 441.75 V.The simulation results can provide certain reference for subsequent lightning risk assessment,lightning scheme design and ground grid construction of wind farms. 展开更多

This paper briefs a method of measuring lightning radiation field with a fast antenna and narrow bandwidth receivers, the first return stroke parameters and the spectrum distribution from 2 kHz to 20 MHz for both ground discharges and cloud discharges are calculated. The peak radiation field of first return stroke, normalized to 50 km, is (15.2±8.4)V/m. Below 1 MHz, the total energy radiated by the first return stroke is (0.8±1.6)×10~5J, the peak power is (0.8±1.0)×10~10W, the peak current is(27.8±17.1)kA, and the peak current derivation is (109.3±91.5) kA/μs. The peak spectral amplitudes appear between 4 kHz to 10 kHz for ground discharges and 20 kHz to 80 kHz for cloud discharges. From 10 kHz to 3.0 MHz, the spectral amplitudes of the ground discharges decrease in 1/f, and from 3.0 MHz to 20 MHz, in 1/f^2. Below40 kHz, the ground discharge is the main lightning radiation source; and above 40 kHz, both discharges behave similarly. A few special phenomena were found and explained preliminarily. 展开更多
