On absolute stability of Lur'e control systems with multiple non-linearities using linear matrix inequalities

Necessary and suffcient conditions for the existence of a Lyapunov function in the Lur ’ e form to guarantee the absolute stability of Lur’ e control systems with multiple non-linearities are discussed in this paper. It simplifies the existence problem to one of solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). If those LMIs are feasible, free parameters in the Lyapunov function, such as the positive definite matrix and the coefficients of the integral terms, are given by the solution of the LMIs. Otherwise, this Lyapunov function does not exist. Some sufficient conditions are also obtained for the robust absolute stability of uncertain systems. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

The stochastic Lyapunov-Krasoviskii functional method is adopted to design a filter such that the filtering error system is stochastic finite-time stable (SFTS) and preserves a prescribed performance level according to the pre-defined event-triggered criteria. Based on stochastic differential equations theory, some sufficient conditions for the existence of H<sub>∞</sub> filter are obtained for the suggested system by employing linear matrix inequality technique. Firstly, a deky-dependent bounded real lemma(BRL) of the time-deky descriptorsystems is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) by using a descriptor modeltransformation of the system and by taking a new Lyapunov-Krasovsii functional. The introducedfunctional does not require bounding for cross terms, so it has less conservation. Secondly, withthe help of the obtained bounded real lemma, a sufficient condition for the existence of a newdeky-dependent H-infinity state-feedback controller is shown in terms of nonlinear matrixinequalities and the solvability of the problem can be obtained by using an iterative algorithminvolving convex optimization. In this paper, we consider the problem of robust stability for a class of linear systems with interval time-varying delay under nonlinear perturbations using Lyapunov-Krasovskii (LK) functional approach. By partitioning the delay-interval into two segments of equal length, and evaluating the time-derivative of a candidate LK functional in each segment of the delay-interval, a less conservative delay-dependent stability criterion is developed to compute the maximum allowable bound for the delay-range within which the system under consideration remains asymptotically stable. In addition to the delay-bi-segmentation analysis procedure, the reduction in conservatism of the proposed delay-dependent stability criterion over recently reported results is also attributed to the fact that the time-derivative of the LK functional is bounded tightly using a newly proposed bounding condition without neglecting any useful terms in the delay-dependent stability analysis. The analysis, subsequently, yields a stable condition in convex linear matrix inequality (LMI) framework that can be solved non-conservatively at boundary conditions using standard numerical packages. Furthermore, as the number of decision variables involved in the proposed stability criterion is less, the criterion is computationally more effective. The effectiveness of the proposed stability criterion is validated through some standard numerical examples. 展开更多

A new delay-dependent criterion is established for the nominal discrete singular delay systems to be regular, causal and stable by employing the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. It is shown that the newly proposed criterion can provide less conservative results than some existing ones. Then, with this criterion, the problems of robust stability and robust stabilization for uncertain discrete singular delay systems are solved, and the delay-dependent LMI conditions are obtained. The uncertain singular systems with delay considered in this paper are assumed to be regular and impulse free.By decomposing the systems into slow and fast subsystems,a robust delay-dependent asymptotic stability criteria based on linear matrix inequality is proposed, which is derived by using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, neither model transformation nor bounding for cross terms is required in the derivation of our delay-dependent result. The robust delay-dependent stability criterion proposed in this paper is a sufficient condition. To access the objective that the designed robust filter is maximally tolerant to disturbances and sensitive to fault, the robustness and stability properties of the fault diagnosis scheme are established rigorously. Using the residual vector, a fault tolerant controller is established in order to guarantee the stability of the closed-loop system, and the controller law can be obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. Then, some relevant sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution are given by applying Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, a simulation example is performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

This paper investigates the robust tracking control problcm for a class of nonlinear networked control systems (NCSs) using the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model approach. Based on a time-varying delay system transformed from the NCSs, an augmented Lyapunov function containing more useful information is constructed. A less conservative sufficient condition is established such that the closed-loop systems stability and time-domain integral quadratic constraints (IQCs) are satisfied while both time-varying network- induced delays and packet losses are taken into account. The fuzzy tracking controllers design scheme is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) and parallel distributed compensation (PDC). Furthermore, robust stabilization criterion for nonlinear NCSs is given as an extension of the tracking control result. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and merits of the proposed method. 展开更多

A new proportional-integral (PI) sliding surface is designed for a class of uncertain nonlinear state-delayed systems. Based on this, an adaptive sliding mode controller (ASMC) is synthesized, which guarantees the occurrence of sliding mode even when the system is undergoing parameter uncertainties and external disturbance. The resulting sliding mode has the same order as the original system, so that it becomes easy to solve the H∞ control problem by designing a memoryless H∞ state feedback controller. A delay-dependent sufficient condition is proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which guarantees the sliding mode robust asymptotically stable and has a noise attenuation level γ in an H∞ sense. The admissible state feedback controller can be found by solving a sequential minimization problem subject to LMI constraints by applying the cone complementary linearization method. This design scheme combines the strong robustness of the sliding mode control with the H∞ norm performance. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. 展开更多

In this article, a synchronization problem for master-slave Markovian switching complex dynamical networks with time-varying delays in nonlinear function via sliding mode control is investigated. On the basis of the appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, introducing some free weighting matrices, new synchronization criteria are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Then, an integral sliding surface is designed to guarantee synchronization of master-slave Markovian switching complex dynamical networks, and the suitable controller is synthesized to ensure that the trajectory of the closed-loop error system can be driven onto the prescribed sliding mode surface. By using Dynkin's formula, we established the stochastic stablity of master-slave system. This paper proposes a new method for model predictive control (MPC) of nonlinear systems to calculate stability region and feasible initial control profile/sequence, which are important to the implementations of MPC. Different from many existing methods, this paper distinguishes stability region from conservative terminal region. With global linearization, linear differential inclusion (LDI) and linear matrix inequality (LMI) techniques, a nonlinear system is transformed into a convex set of linear systems, and then the vertices of the set are used off-line to design the controller, to estimate stability region, and also to determine a feasible initial control profile/sequence. Dynamical variables of coupled nonlinear oscillators can exhibit different synchronization patterns depending on the designed coupling scheme. In this paper, a non-fragile linear feedback control strategy with multiplicative controller gain uncertainties is proposed for realizing the mixed-synchronization of Chua's circuits connected in a drive-response configuration. In particular, in the mixed-synchronization regime, different state variables of the response system can evolve into complete synchronization, anti-synchronization and even amplitude death simultaneously with the drive variables for an appropriate choice of scaling matrix. Using Lyapunov stability theory, we derive some sufficient criteria for achieving global mixed-synchronization. It is shown that the desired non-fragile state feedback controller can be constructed by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical simulations are also provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach. 展开更多

The exponential passive filtering problem for a class of nonlinear Markov jump systems with uncertainties and time-delays is studied. The uncertain parameters are assumed unknown but norm bounded, and the nonlinearities satisfy the quadratic condition. Based on the passive filtering theory, the sufficient condition for the existence of the mode-dependent passive filter is given by analyzing the reconstructed observer system. By using the appropriate Lyapnnov-Krasovskii function and applying linear matrix inequalities, the design scheme of the passive filter is derived and described as an optimization one. The presented exponential passive filter makes the error dynamic systems exponentially stochastically stable for all the admissible uncertainties, time-delays and nonlinearities, has the better abilities of state tracking and satisfies the given passive norm index. Based on parallel distribution compensation method, some sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the stability of the overall fuzzy system. The stabilization conditions are further formulated into linear matrix inequality (LMI) so that the desired controller can be easily obtained by using the Matlab LMI toolbox. In comparison with the existing results, the drawbacks, such as coordinate transformation, same output matrices, have been elim- inated. The reported stability criterion for the additive timedelay systems has more number of matrix variables in the LMI and, hence, demand additional computational burden. The proposed equivalent stability criterion, unlike the reported one, does not involve free-weighing matrices and encompass only the matrix variables that are associated in the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, making the criterion mathematically less complex and computationally more effective. 展开更多
