A review on technologies with electricity generation potentials using liquified natural gas regasification cold energy

In modern times,worldwide requirements to curb greenhouse gas emissions,and increment in energy demand due to the progress of humanity,have become a serious concern.In such scenarios,the effective and efficient utilization of the liquified natural gas(LNG)regasification cold energy(RCE),in the economically and environmentally viable methods,could present a great opportunity in tackling the core issues related to global warming across the world.In this paper,the technologies that are widely used to harness the LNG RCE for electrical power have been reviewed.The systems incorporating,the Rankine cycles,Stirling engines,Kalina cycles,Brayton cycles,Allam cycles,and fuel cells have been considered.Additionally,the economic and environmental studies apart from the thermal studies have also been reviewed.Moreover,the discussion regarding the systems with respect to the regassification pressure of the LNG has also been provided.The aim of this paper is to provide guidelines for the prospective researchers and policy makers in their decision making.

How Does Egypt Face the Negative Effects of the Russian-Ukrainian War on the Energy Sector in the State Budget 22/23?

Egypt has reviewed plans to deal with the economic impacts of the Russia-Ukraine crisis that the country will possibly face,including on petroleum prices.In recent years,Egypt has raised gasoline prices several times,the last of which was by 25 piastres earlier this month,as per recommendations of Egypt’s Fuel Automatic Pricing Committee held every three months.This comes while the government presses ahead with plans to convert petrol-powered vehicles to run on natural gas,a step that should contribute to reducing the cost of subsidized petroleum products in the state budget.Egypt,which has achieved self-sufficiency in natural gas in 2018,is planning to use its position on Europe’s doorstep to become a major supplier of liquified natural gas(LNG)to the continent,which is transitioning away from other fossil fuels.

Numerical Investigation on the Hydrodynamic Diference Between Internal and External Turret-Moored FLNG

Motion responses of the floating liquefied natural gas(FLNG)hull and the mooring loads in a 100-year return environmental condition are predicted with the help of the well known coupled dynamic analysis code DeepC.A ship-shaped turret-moored FLNG moored by 4×3 chain-polyester-chain lines in 1.5 km depth of water is studied.Two types of turrets such as internal and external turrets,resulting from diferent locations of the turrets,are adopted respectively in the numerical simulations.Motion responses of the FLNG hull and forces of the mooring lines obtained from the internal turret case and external turret case are compared with each other.Significant diferences are obtained.Statistic analysis is also used to analyze the comparison results,and efects of the turret location on the FLNG hydrodynamic characteristics are summed up.The conclusion regarding the hydrodynamic diferences between internal and external turret-moored FLNG systems would provide help for design of the FLNG system.

The GCC-Russia-China LNG Triangle: The Role of Transnational Knowledge Networks and Epistemic Communities to Govern Complex Systems

This paper analyzes and discusses the prospects for GCC-Russia-China transnational knowledge networks and epistemic communities in natural gas and liquified natural gas(LNG)production and trade.The premise of the article is that transnational knowledge relations between academia,government,business,civil society and wider facilitate political,economic,technological and strategic relations between countries.This article looks at the role and potential of transnational knowledge relations and epistemic communications between the GCC,Russia(focus on Russian Arctic)and China in the field of natural gas and LNG production and trade.In addition,the article will briefly expand on these transnational,transdisciplinary knowledge relations to include Japan,South Korea and other Arctic LNG producers as Norway and Alaska.
