Egypt has reviewed plans to deal with the economic impacts of the Russia-Ukraine crisis that the country will possibly face,including on petroleum prices.In recent years,Egypt has raised gasoline prices several times,the last of which was by 25 piastres earlier this month,as per recommendations of Egypt’s Fuel Automatic Pricing Committee held every three months.This comes while the government presses ahead with plans to convert petrol-powered vehicles to run on natural gas,a step that should contribute to reducing the cost of subsidized petroleum products in the state budget.Egypt,which has achieved self-sufficiency in natural gas in 2018,is planning to use its position on Europe’s doorstep to become a major supplier of liquified natural gas(LNG)to the continent,which is transitioning away from other fossil fuels. 展开更多

In modern times,worldwide requirements to curb greenhouse gas emissions,and increment in energy demand due to the progress of humanity,have become a serious concern.In such scenarios,the effective and efficient utilization of the liquified natural gas(LNG)regasification cold energy(RCE),in the economically and environmentally viable methods,could present a great opportunity in tackling the core issues related to global warming across the world.In this paper,the technologies that are widely used to harness the LNG RCE for electrical power have been reviewed.The systems incorporating,the Rankine cycles,Stirling engines,Kalina cycles,Brayton cycles,Allam cycles,and fuel cells have been considered.Additionally,the economic and environmental studies apart from the thermal studies have also been reviewed.Moreover,the discussion regarding the systems with respect to the regassification pressure of the LNG has also been provided.The aim of this paper is to provide guidelines for the prospective researchers and policy makers in their decision making. 展开更多

Motion responses of the floating liquefied natural gas(FLNG)hull and the mooring loads in a 100-year return environmental condition are predicted with the help of the well known coupled dynamic analysis code DeepC.A ship-shaped turret-moored FLNG moored by 4×3 chain-polyester-chain lines in 1.5 km depth of water is studied.Two types of turrets such as internal and external turrets,resulting from diferent locations of the turrets,are adopted respectively in the numerical simulations.Motion responses of the FLNG hull and forces of the mooring lines obtained from the internal turret case and external turret case are compared with each other.Significant diferences are obtained.Statistic analysis is also used to analyze the comparison results,and efects of the turret location on the FLNG hydrodynamic characteristics are summed up.The conclusion regarding the hydrodynamic diferences between internal and external turret-moored FLNG systems would provide help for design of the FLNG system. 展开更多
