Discourse Analysis in Translation of Chinese Literature: The Case Study of Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang’s Translation of Kong Yiji

Since the early 1970s,discourse analysis has garnered significant attention across various academic disciplines,marked by the proliferation of numerous theoretical frameworks.Then the profound impact of discourse analysis on the field of translation research has become increasingly apparent,with a substantial body of translation studies embracing the discourse analysis approach.The disciplinary significance of discourse analysis has become undeniable.Contemporary China is in a relatively weak position in global cultural communication.To advance Chinese culture on the global stage,Chinese literary works serve as a precious channel.To effectively showcase the unique qualities of Chinese literature,translators must consider a multitude of influencing factors and address them judiciously to enable target language readers to fully immerse themselves in the essence of Chinese literary artistry.This paper takes Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang’s translation of Kong Yiji as an example to elucidate the function of discourse analysis in translation of Chinese literature.

Study Progress Analysis of Effluent Quality Prediction in Activated Sludge Process Based on CiteSpace

In this paper, CiteSpace, a bibliometrics software, was adopted to collect research papers published on the Web of Science, which are relevant to biological model and effluent quality prediction in activated sludge process in the wastewater treatment. By the way of trend map, keyword knowledge map, and co-cited knowledge map, specific visualization analysis and identification of the authors, institutions and regions were concluded. Furthermore, the topics and hotspots of water quality prediction in activated sludge process through the literature-co-citation-based cluster analysis and literature citation burst analysis were also determined, which not only reflected the historical evolution progress to a certain extent, but also provided the direction and insight of the knowledge structure of water quality prediction and activated sludge process for future research.

Determining future high speed rail review topics through bibliometric analysis

As High Speed Rail(HSR)has proliferated globally,so has a related research field dedicated to exploring and addressing its unique issues.Yet,studies to understand and classify the HSR research domain are limited.This paper addresses the gap,using bibliometric analysis to identify future research areas and 20 candidate topics for literature review based on keyword analysis through VOSviewer.Article and review papers related to HSR published in the last 20 years(2003-2022)were retrieved from Scopus,and then analyzed to determine the split in knowledge between languages,the collaboration between countries and institutions,highly productive and cited journals,and research topics which have and have not been reviewed.Approximately 30%of the search results were published exclusively in Chinese,highlighting the importance of extending the evaluation to cover both languages.This is a novel aspect of the work,which has enabled the recognition of potential knowledge gaps.It is recommended that future reviews incorporate works in both languages,possibly through international collaboration.Institutions in China and other countries that are strong collaborators have been identified,as well as relevant,highly cited journals.

Family resilience of cancer patients:a concept analysis

Objective:The concept of family resilience of cancer patients was discussed through literature review,which provided reference for nursing of cancer patients.Methods:China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Database,SinoMed,PubMed,Web of Science,and Embase were systematically searched,and the concept analysis method proposed by Walker and Avant was adopted.Results:In this study,we defined the concept of family resilience,identified attributes,and analyzed the antecedents and consequences.The proposed operational definition of family resilience was:After a family member is diagnosed with cancer,the whole family can actively explore its own unique internal and external resources and advantages,strengthen self-regulation,jointly cope with the crisis by establishing close family relationships,providing mutual support to family members,and interacting with the outside world.Conclusions:The definition of family resilience of cancer patients is conducive to the development of measurement tools and the improvement of family outcomes of adult cancer patients by intervening family resilience factors.

Scientific literature addressing brain glioma in the Web of Science A 10-year bibliometric analysis

Brain glioma is a hot topic in recent years; however, brain glioma remains poorly understood. A bibliometric analysis based on the Science Citation Index （SCI） published by the Institute of Scientific Information （ISI） was performed to identify the global research and to improve the understanding of research trends in the brain glioma field from 2001 to 2010. During 2001 to 2010, there were 8 413 papers addressing brain glioma added to the SCI, and this trend is increasing annually. Of these reports, 6 945 papers are written in English. Journals published in the United States had the most papers, including ten core source titles. The Journal of Neuro-Oncology published the most articles followed by Cancer Research. Furthermore, the University of California San Francisco, is the most productive institution for publishing articles in the brain glioma field. Finally, this study highlights the topics in brain glioma research that are being published around th~ world.

Bibliometric analysis on retinoblastoma literatures in PubMed during 1929 to 2010

AIM: To determine the growth rule and tendency of retinoblastoma (Rb) literature, and to provide the basis for research of diagnosis, treatment and on Rb. METHODS: Bibliometric analyses were carried out on Rb literatures which contain the descriptors of Rb in their titles or texts from 1929 to 2010 in PubMed database (www.ncbi.nlm. nih.gov/Pubmed). The biomedical journals referring to Rb by using bibliometric indicators were calculated. The principal bibliometric indicators, i.e, Price's and Bradford's laws to the increase or distribution of scientific literature, the participation index of languages and the journals were applied. By means of manual coding, Rb documents were classified according to documents studied and to statistical analysis. RESULTS: During 1929-2010, there were 16162 literatures in the PubMed database including the word Rb. According to the literature type, it includes Review (n=2026), Randomized Controlled Trial (n = 7), Practice guideline (n = 3), meta-analysis (n = 4), letter (n = 215), editorial (n = 98), clinical trial (n = 115) and others (n = 13694). By the statistical analysis, its equation is near power index (y = 3.0477 x(2.6088), R(2) = 0.9666). From 1929 to 2010, Rb literatures in English were primarily dominant (90.71%) and the amount of the literature in Chinese ranked the fourth (1.37%). By searching PubMed, 1420 (8.8%) literatures covered were from 41 of 48 ophthalmological, and 406 (2.5%) literatures from 44 of 86 pediatrics journals that correlated with retinoblastoma (SCI-indexed). The data showed that the literatures of Rb were gradually increasing year by year and were approximate near power index during 1929-2010, and the document publishes published mainly in ophthalmological journals, and in English (90.71%), and showing that the study on Rb is a popular subject in the last half century. CONCLUSION: The literatures of Rb are gradually increasing, mainly English in ophthalmologic journals.

The Enlightenment on Urban Ecological Construction by Research Progress of Sponge City in China Based on Literature Analysis

To quantitatively analyze main figure,field,agency and level of sponge city research in China,and clear research focus and hot spot in each year,by using the Full Text Database of Chinese Sci-tech Periodicals and other retrieval tools,the statistics and analysis of 3152 research literatures on sponge city published in domestic academic journals of 2004-2016 are conducted based on bibliometrics. It is found that since the concept of " sponge city" was firstly proposed in 2012,development research of sponge city involves 40 subject fields and is mainly published in 32 kinds of journals,which is dominated by natural science research( 1427 literatures). Researchers are mainly from each college and university,some design institutes and Chinese Academy of Sciences. The research could play certain guidance significance for further research and construction of ecological city construction in China.

Clinical characteristics of myotonia congenita in China Literature analysis of the past 30 years

AIM： To understand the distinct, clinical features of myotonia congenita in China. METHODS： Case reports of myotonia congenita were retrieved from the Chinese Journal Full-text database, dating between 1980 and 2007, and analyzed for clinical characteristics of myotonia congenita. RESULTS： There were 35 published reports and 258 cases about myotonia congenita. Six reports （62 cases） were excluded due to lack of clinical data, imprecise diagnosis, or duplication. Finally, 29 published reports and 196 cases （140 males and 56 females） were included in this analysis. About 78.6% of patients were diagnosed with myotonia congenita before the age of 20, and among these, 86.1% were classified as dominant inheritance. Lower and upper extremities were frequently affected with severe symptoms. Eyelids, mouth and lingual muscles, and trunk muscles and cervical muscles were less frequently involved. However, muscles for swallowing, sphincter muscles, and smooth muscles were not involved. There were no reports of cataracts, cardiac conduction block, or dyscrinism. myotonia congenita symptoms were induced or aggravated by cold temperatures in 71.9% of the patients and warming-up effect occurred in 95.6% of the patients. Muscle hypertrophy was observed in 69.6% and percussion of muscles in 76.5% of the patients. Myotonia potential or myotonia-like potential was detected in all patients using electromyography. Muscle fiber swelling or hypertrophy was frequently detected through muscular biopsy. CONCLUSION： Myotonia congenita frequently occurs in males before the age of 20, in particular as the autosomal dominant form of myotonia congenita. Skeletal muscles throughout the body, especially the lower and upper extremities, are involved. However, muscles for swallowing, sphincter muscles, and smooth muscles are not involved. Warming-up effect is the main characteristic of myotonia congenita.

Literature Analysis of Bryophytes in China during 2005-2015

In order to study China's bryophyte,this paper uses bibliometrics for statistical analysis of literature about China's bryophyte during 2005-2015.The results show that in terms of published article distribution of different journals,there are 13 kinds of journals with more than 5 papers about bryophyte,accounting for 32.5%; in terms of the number of papers published in different years,it was smallest in 2005,only 16,while it reached the largest number of 33 in 2008; in terms of the number of papers published for different first authors,there are most authors publishing less than 9 papers,accounting for 87.5%,there is only one author publishing 9 papers,and there are 5 people publishing more than 9 papers; in terms of author unit distribution,in the 278 articles collected,there are 12 units publishing papers of less than 6,accounting for 30%,the unit publishing the most papers(36) is Guizhou Normal University,5 units publish 6 papers,accounting for 12.5%,and the units publishing papers of less than 6 account for 57.5%; in terms of literature research level,there are most papers about basic and applied basic research(natural science),accounting for 91.2%,the papers about engineering and technology(natural science) account for 5.5%,and other papers account for 3.3%.

Literature Analysis on Fluorescence in situ Hybridization in China during 2002-2016

In order to explore researches about the chromosome karyotype analysis and fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH) technology in China,using the bibliometric method,taking " fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH) " and " chromosome" as key words,this paper made a statistical analysis on the literature published in China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) during 2002-2016.The results indicated that the number of papers published in 2002 was the smallest(37),while the number of papers published in 2012 was the largest(125).In terms of the distribution of organizations of authors,in 1201 papers,11 organizations published papers ≥15,accounting for 21.65%.In terms of distribution of papers published by different periodicals,11 periodicals published papers ≥10,accounting for 17.65%.In terms of the papers supported by foundation projects,in all papers searched,377 papers were supported by foundation projects,accounting for 31.39%.In terms of the distribution of doctoral and master's dissertations,259 papers were master's dissertations,accounting for 21.57%;92 papers were doctoral dissertations,accounting for 7.66%.

Error Analysis of Chinglish in Translation of Publicity Literature

Chinglish is one of the major problems affecting the quality of Chinese-English Translation.And the negative effect of Chinglish is much more serious in translation of publicity literature,which induces bad impression on our country.This paper is an attempt to discuss the causes and manifestations of Chinglish in translation of publicity literature from the perspectives of words,phrases and sentence structure with the means of error analysis.

Evolution of the Socio-cognitive Structure of Knowledge Management(1986–2015): An Author Co-citation Analysis

Purpose: The evolution of the socio-cognitive structure of the field of knowledge management(KM) during the period 1986–2015 is described. Design/methodology/approach: Records retrieved from Web of Science were submitted to author co-citation analysis(ACA) following a longitudinal perspective as of the following time slices: 1986–1996, 1997–2006, and 2007–2015. The top 10% of most cited first authors by sub-periods were mapped in bibliometric networks in order to interpret the communities formed and their relationships.Findings: KM is a homogeneous field as indicated by networks results. Nine classical authors are identified since they are highly co-cited in each sub-period, highlighting Ikujiro Nonaka as the most influential authors in the field. The most significant communities in KM are devoted to strategic management, KM foundations, organisational learning and behaviour, and organisational theories. Major trends in the evolution of the intellectual structure of KM evidence a technological influence in 1986–1996, a strategic influence in 1997–2006, and finally a sociological influence in 2007–2015.Research limitations: Describing a field from a single database can offer biases in terms of output coverage. Likewise, the conference proceedings and books were not used and the analysis was only based on first authors. However, the results obtained can be very useful to understand the evolution of KM research.Practical implications: These results might be useful for managers and academicians to understand the evolution of KM field and to(re)define research activities and organisational projects.Originality/value: The novelty of this paper lies in considering ACA as a bibliometric technique to study KM research. In addition, our investigation has a wider time coverage than earlier articles.

Treatment of Peripheral T-cell Lymphoma by Chidamide and Literature Analysis

[Objectives] To analyze the dosage,curative effect,and adverse effect of Chidamide in treating peripheral T-cell lymphoma( PTCL). [Methods]A case of treating peripheral T-cell lymphoma by Chidamide was reported,including the treatment process,dosage,curative effect,and adverse effect. Literature review was made and searched in Wanfang Digital Database,China National Knowledge Infrastructure( CNKI),and Pubmed database,using the key word chidamide in Chinese and English separately. Disease and case number of patients,Chidamide observation indicator,curative effect,and adverse effects were recorded in detail. The search was carried out as of September,2016. [Results] It searched 3 articles related to clinical application and 111 cases of patients. [Conclusions] Chidamide has excellent curative effect in treating peripheral T-cell lymphoma and is suitable for clinical application.

Renal pelvis sarcomatoid carcinoma with renal vein tumor thrombus:A case report and literature review

BACKGROUND Renal pelvis sarcomatoid carcinoma(RPSC)is a rare and aggressive malignancy whose diagnosis is difficult because radiological imaging results can lead to misclassification as a more common type of renal tumor.In addition,clinical management of patients with RPSC is difficult because of the limited efficacy of available treatments.In this study,we present a comprehensive description of a patient who presented with RPSC and a simultaneous renal vein tumor thrombus.CASE SUMMARY During April,2020,a 64-year-old female presented with an isolated episode of hematuria accompanied by abdominal pain.Computed tomography(CT)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)showed a lesion in the right renal pelvis.We therefore performed a radical nephrectomy of the right kidney.The subsequent histopathological and immunological results verified the diagnosis of RPSC.Despite administration of 6 cycles of a gemcitabine-cisplatin regimen,the patient's condition progressively deteriorated,and she died about 15 mo after the nephrectomy.CONCLUSION We performed a comprehensive analysis of a patient with RPSC that included CT,MRI,immunohistochemistry,and genetic testing.The insights from our detailed analysis of this patient and our concomitant review of the literature may assist clinicians in their diagnosis and treatment of RPSC.

Stylistic Analysis of the Poem 40-Love

40-Love is a short love poem with typical stylistic features,which are analyzed at four levels in this study:graphic level,lexical level,grammatical/syntactic level,and semantic level,to show how stylistic features strengthen the expressing impact of a poem.Based on the analysis,the poem can be called a real masterpiece in expressing meaning with simple and artful writing style.
