A kind of transfigured loop shaping controller is presented in this paper. A transfigured loop shaping system puts a controller K in a feedback loop, while putting the dc gain of the controller K on the reference signal line. It is shown through frequency domain analysis and simulation that a transfigured controller can improve the dynamic behavior of a system. The transfigured loop shaping controller method is simple and effective and corresponds to the mixed sensitivity method of robust control theory, which improves the behavior of a system by iterative tuning of weighting functions. Satisfactory control results are obtained when it is applied to the design of an underwater vehicle. The existing problems about DS-CDMA outer loop power control for multi-service are introduced and the power control theoretical model is analyzed. System simulation is adopted on how to obtain the theoretical performance and parameter optimization of the power control algorithm. The OLPC algorithm is improved and the performance comparisons between the old algorithm and the improved algorithm are given. The results show good performance of the improved OLPC algorithm and prove the validity of the improved method for multi-service. 展开更多

The plant is described by a linear interpolation of proper stable co-prime factorizations of the transfer functions at two representative operating points. An interpolation of the stabilizing controllers for the representative models is designed to stabilize the plant, and the necessary and sufficient condition for the plant to be stabilized by the proposed controller is presented using the Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation theory. It is shown that the class of stabilization plants via the proposed controller in the paper is larger than that by the controller in reference. An example is also given to illustrate this fact. 展开更多

On the existence of delayed/undelayed full state feedback controllers, we present a sufficient condition and give a design method in the form of Riccati equation. The controller can not only stabilize the time-delay system, but also make the H∞ norm of the closed-loop system be less than a given bound. In order to study the factors that influence the air fuel ratio(A/F), the amplitude and frequency of A/F fluctuation, to reform the control strategy, and to improve the efficiency of three way catalyst(TWC), a model of closed loop control system including the engine, air fuel mixing and transportation, oxygen sensor and controller, etc., is developed. Various factors that influence the A/F control are studied by simulation. The simulation results show that the reference voltage of oxygen sensor will influence the mean value of A/F ratio, the controller parameters will influence the amplitude of A/F fluctuation, and the operating conditions of the engine determine the frequency of A/F fluctuations, the amplitude of A/F fluctuation can be reduced to within demanded values by logical selection of the signal acquisition method and controller parameters. Higher A/F fluctuation frequency under high speed and load can be reduced through software delay in the controller. The A/F closed loop control system based on the simulation results, accompanied with a rare earth element TWC, gives a better efficiency of conversion against harmful emissions. 展开更多

Web service applications are increasing tremendously in support of high-level businesses.There must be a need of better server load balancing mechanism for improving the performance of web services in business.Though many load balancing methods exist,there is still a need for sophisticated load bal-ancing mechanism for not letting the clients to get frustrated.In this work,the ser-ver with minimum response time and the server having less traffic volume were selected for the aimed server to process the forthcoming requests.The Servers are probed with adaptive control of time with two thresholds L and U to indicate the status of server load in terms of response time difference as low,medium and high load by the load balancing application.Fetching the real time responses of entire servers in the server farm is a key component of this intelligent Load balancing system.Many Load Balancing schemes are based on the graded thresholds,because the exact information about the networkflux is difficult to obtain.Using two thresholds L and U,it is possible to indicate the load on particular server as low,medium or high depending on the Maximum response time difference of the servers present in the server farm which is below L,between L and U or above U respectively.However,the existing works of load balancing in the server farm incorporatefixed time to measure real time response time,which in general are not optimal for all traffic conditions.Therefore,an algorithm based on Propor-tional Integration and Derivative neural network controller was designed with two thresholds for tuning the timing to probe the server for near optimal perfor-mance.The emulation results has shown a significant gain in the performance by tuning the threshold time.In addition to that,tuning algorithm is implemented in conjunction with Load Balancing scheme which does not tune thefixed time slots. 展开更多

Usually, a certain length of hot steel strip is hung freely between the caster and rolling mill to deal with the effect of this speed difference. In this paper,the freely hanging hot steel strip is referred to as the free loop of hot steel strip. Accurately measuring and controlling the height of this free loop is the key factor in maintaining a stable casting operation. Several methods for measuring the loop height of a steel strip are discussed and a method for accurately measuring and controlling the free loop height of hot steel strip is presented. Based on the results of the casting loop quantity change curve, this control method is confirmed to be effective and able to meet the requirements of continuous casting strip production. 展开更多

In ultra-dense networks(UDN),multiple association can be regarded as a user-centric pattern in which a user can be served by multiple base stations(BSs).The data rate and quality of service can be improved.However,BSs in user-centric paradigm are required to serve more users due to this multiple association scheme.The improvement of system performance may be limited by the improving load of BSs.In this letter,we develope an analytical framework for the load distribution of BSs in heterogeneous user-centric UDN.Based on open loop power control(OLPC),a user-centric scheme is considered in which the clustered serving BSs can provide given signal to interference plus noise ratio(SINR)for any typical user.As for any BS in different tiers,by leveraging stochastic geometry,we derive the Probability Mass Function(PMF)of the number of the served users,the Cumulative Distribution Function(CDF)of total power consumption,and the CDF bounds of downlink sum data rate.The accuracy of the theoretical analysis is validated by numerical simulations,and the effect the system parameters on the load of BSs is also presented. 展开更多

The attitude tracking control problem for a satellite with parameter uncertainties and external disturbances is considered in this paper. For this class of multi-input multi-output uncertain nonlinear systems, a design method of robust output tracking controllers is proposed based on the upper-bounds of the uncertainties. Using the input/output feedback linearization approach and Lyapunov method, a control law is designed, which guarantees that the system output exponentially tracks the given desired output. The proposed controller is easy to compute and complement. Simulation results show that, in the closed-loop system, precise attitude control is accomplished in spite of the uncertainties in the system. 展开更多

In order to adapt to the changes in the states of moving targets and meet the requirements of quality of service in communication among unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the UAVs formation needs to dynamically adjust tracking tasks and tracking paths, when they carry out a mission of tracking multiple moving targets. A multi-targets tracking algorithm based on task allocation consensus is proposed for UAVs to track multiple moving targets under the distributed control architecture in the limited communication range. This algorithm creates a distributed dynamic task allocation model using intermittent asynchronous communication principle to realize the sharing of observation information gathered by each UAV with fewer communications. In addition, this algorithm also makes it possible that multi-UAVs can plan tracking paths for multiple moving targets. We implement the algorithm on the formation with three UAVs to track three moving targets through simulation. The wheel brake system safety is a complex problem which refers to its technical state, operating environment, human factors, etc., in aircraft landing taxiing process. Usually, professors consider system safety with traditional probability techniques based on the linear chain of events. However, it could not comprehensively analyze system safety problems, especially in operating environment, interaction of subsystems, and human factors. Thus,we consider system safety as a control problem based on the system-theoretic accident model, the processes(STAMP) model and the system theoretic process analysis(STPA) technique to compensate the deficiency of traditional techniques. Meanwhile,system safety simulation is considered as system control simulation, and Monte Carlo methods are used which consider the range of uncertain parameters and operation deviation to quantitatively study system safety influence factors in control simulation. Firstly,we construct the STAMP model and STPA feedback control loop of the wheel brake system based on the system functional requirement. Then four unsafe control actions are identified, and causes of them are analyzed. Finally, we construct the Monte Carlo simulation model to analyze different scenarios under disturbance. The results provide a basis for choosing corresponding process model variables in constructing the context table and show that appropriate brake strategies could prevent hazards in aircraft landing taxiing. 展开更多

The problem of robust stabilization for nonlinear systems with partially known uncertainties is considered in this paper. The required information about uncertainties in the system is merely that the uncertainties are bounded, but the upper bounds are incompletely known. This paper can be viewed as an extension of the work in reference [1]. To compensate the uncertainties, an adaptive robust controller based on Lyapunov method is proposed and the design algorithm is also suggested. Compared with some previous controllers which can only ensure ultimate uniform boundedness of the systems, the controller given in the paper can make sure that the obtained closed-loop system is asymptotically stable in the large. To improve the energy efficiency of a direct expansion air conditioning(DX A/C) system while guaranteeing occupancy comfort, a hierarchical controller for a DX A/C system with uncertain parameters is proposed. The control strategy consists of an open loop optimization controller and a closed-loop guaranteed cost periodically intermittent-switch controller(GCPISC). The error dynamics system of the closed-loop control is modelled based on the GCPISC principle. The difference,compared to the previous DX A/C system control methods, is that the controller designed in this paper performs control at discrete times. For the ease of designing the controller, a series of matrix inequalities are derived to be the sufficient conditions of the lower-layer closed-loop GCPISC controller. In this way, the DX A/C system output is derived to follow the optimal references obtained through the upper-layer open loop controller in exponential time, and the energy efficiency of the system is improved. Moreover, a static optimization problem is addressed for obtaining an optimal GCPISC law to ensure a minimum upper bound on the DX A/C system performance considering energy efficiency and output tracking error. The advantages of the designed hierarchical controller for a DX A/C system with uncertain parameters are demonstrated through some simulation results. 展开更多

A deformation measurement method of interframe displacement was proposed in this paper. By online monitoring the shape di- mensions of both the deformation zone and its adjacent zone by machine vision, the initial and terminative positions of deformation were dynamically identified during dieless drawing, and the global monitoring and online closed-loop control of the deformation zone were achieved. The dieless drawing process was systematically carried out on NiTi shape memory alloy wires. It is shown that the deformation measurement method of interframe displacement can track the axial displacement of the wires, but this cannot be achieved by traditional machine vision. The initial and terminative positions of deformation can be accurately identified by this method. The proposed rectifying control technology can effectively decrease the wire diameter fluctuation during dieless drawing, that is, the standard deviation of the wire diameter fluctuation could be decreased fi'om 0.30 to 0.08 mm after three passes of dieless drawing, indicating that the control system has a good rectifying ability. 展开更多

A novel adaptive loop gain controller(ALGC) is proposed to increase the locking speed of the BBPLL. A novel bang-bang phase/frequency detector(BBPFD) with adaptive-mode-selective circuits is proposed to select the locking mode of the BBPLL during the locking process. Based on the detected results of the BBPFD, the ALGC can dynamically adjust the overall gain of the loop for fast-locking procedure. Compared with the conventional BBPFD, only a few gates are added in the proposed BBPFD. Therefore, the proposed BBPFD with adaptive-mode-selective circuits is realized with little area and power penalties. The fast-locking BBPLL is implemented in a 65 nm CMOS technology. The core area of the BBPLL is 0.022 mm;. Measured results show that the BBPLL operates at a frequency range from0.6 to 2.4 GHz. When operating at 1.8 GHz, the power consumption is 3.1 mW with a 0.9-V supply voltage. With the proposed techniques, the BBPLL achieves a normalized locked time of 1.1μs @ 100 MHz frequency jump.The figure-of-merit of the fast-locking BBPLL is-334 dB. 展开更多

The effect of too much overhead caused by fixed neighborhood state update cycle on the whole network performance has been greatly alleviated by a neighborhood state dynamic update(NSDU) algorithm proposed for MANET in this paper.A local topology flapping metric(LTFM) has been established based on the changes of link connection to achieve the measurement of stability.The loop control theory has been adopted to establish the control model of the neighborhood state,so as to set up the mapping relationship with the topology change,based on which both the neighborhood state information exchange and the timeout of link with neighbors involved will be adjusted dynamically according to NSDU to ensure that the update cycle would regulate with the network environment in order to achieve the purpose of reducing the control overhead.The simulation results on NS2.34 with different nodes velocities,traffic generating rates and the network node densities shows that adopting NSDU,no matter based on a table-driven protocol or a on-demand one,would reduce the overhead effectively while hardly bring any obvious impacts on metrics of packet successful delivery rate and the average end-to-end delay as well. 展开更多

An outer loop power control algorithm based on triangle norm(t-norm) information fusion technology is proposed in this paper.According to the difference between block error rate and bit error rate with target values,the membership function calculation and level dividing of the two differences are dealt with.And then t-norm operator is used to fuse the two membership function values to determine the adjustment step-size.The algorithm can acquire the optimal adjustment step-size in the light of the channel status and avoid the overshoot phenomenon of the existing outer power control methods.As a result,the block error rate can converge to the target value quickly.Experiment results verify the excellent property of the algorithm. 展开更多
