However, it has yet to be examined in relation to soft tissue injuries sustained during competition or in connection with rider/saddle interactions. <b>Aim: </b>The aim of the present study was to examine the efficacy of topical low-frequency therapeutic ultrasound on the shoulder muscles of injured horses. <b>Methods:</b></span><b><span style="font-family:;" "=""> </span></b><span style="font-family:;" "="">Muscle mass and cellular health was assessed for <i>M. trapezius</i> using non-invasive multi-frequency bioimpedance, and dynamic improvements in <i>M. trapezius</i> and <i>M. latissimus dorsi</i> were examined using acoustic myography (AMG). A total of 8 injured horses (painful to palpation and atrophied) were treated using an</span><span style="font-family:;" "=""> </span><span style="font-family:;" "="">EQ Pro Therapy unit, following a set protocol that comprised treatment every other day for 10 treatments. Using nested active capacitors, our scheme achieves better bandwidth-to-power and slew-rate-to-power performances than previous works. Implemented in standard 0.35μm CMOS technology, our three-stage amplifier achieves 105dB DC gain, 3.3M GBW,68 phase margin, and 2.56V/μs average slew rate under a 150pF capacitive load. All of these are realized with only 40μW power consumption under a 2V power supply,with very small compensation capacitors. 展开更多

Experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of low power microwave radiation on germination and growth rate in seeds. In the present paper, the bioeffects of low power (non-thermal intensity) microwave modulated with 1 KHz square wave have been studied. Experiments were performed in X-band frequencies using klystron based microwave test bench. Microwave parameters like frequency, power, exposure time and power density were varied while irradiating seed samples to study their influence on germination. The seed samples used for the experiment included wheat (Triticum aestivum), bengal gram (Cicer arietinum), green gram (Vigna radiate) and moth bean (Vigna Aconitifolia). Seed germination %, plant height, root length and dry matter % (biomass %) were recorded and compared with control seeds. The effects of different treatments were found to be stimulating the germination and seedling vigour of plants especially in power and exposure time treatments while increase in frequency and power density has reduced the seed germination and seedling vigour. The effect also varied with the nature of seeds. 展开更多

Abstract Objective Higher levels of exposure to extremely low-frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MF) are associated with a slightly increased risk of childhood leukaemia. Compared with more-developed Western countries, higher exposure levels are evident in the Czech Republic, probably because of the different types of housing. In light of this, we aimed to examine the association between ELF-MF exposure and childhood leukaemia in the Czech Republic. Methods We conducted a paired case-control study. The cases (children with leukaemia) were age- sex- and permanent residence-matched to controls (children without leukaemia). Although this limited potential bias and confounding, it also limited our number of participants. Results The matched analyses included 79 case-control pairs. No significant association between ELF-MF exposure and childhood leukaemia was observed for exposures over 0.2 μT (odds ratio [0R]=0.93, confidence interval [Cl]=0.45-1.93), 0.3 μT (0R=0.77, Cl=0.34-1.75), or 0.4 μT (OR=0.9, Cl=0.37-2.22). Conclusion Despite higher levels of exposure in Middle and Eastern Europe, no indication of an association between ELF-MF exposure and childhood leukaemia was determined. This in contrast to the findings of previous studies conducted in different countries. 展开更多

A state of the art ultra-low power small sized transceiver design has been proposed.This device consists of four blocks,including a frequency synthesizer(FS),a crystal oscillator(XO),transmitter and receiver attached with an antenna.It has been seen that wireless information technology and systems have played a vital role in the transformation of society in different aspects of life.Mobile wireless communications including WiMAX/4G have attracted researchers and developers.WiMAX/4G applications need a transceiver that can be used in the worst channel conditions,but with low power consumption and low input voltage at the 5.8 GHz frequency.The proposed transceiver operates on 1.2 V.The operating frequency,noise figure(NF)and receiver gain are 5.8 GHz,4.0 dB and 90 dB respectively.It is a highly compatible transceiver with all the 4G technologies.Implementation details and results have revealed that the proposed transceiver is much more efficient than the previously proposed transceivers in literature. 展开更多

For the reliability and power consumption issues of Ethernet data transmission based on the field programmable gate array (FPGA), a low-power consumption design method is proposed, which is suitable for FPGA implementation. To reduce the dynamic power consumption of integrated circuit (IC) design, the proposed method adopts the dynamic control of the clock frequency. For most of the time, when the port is in the idle state or lower-rate state, users can reduce or even turn off the reading clock frequency and reduce the clock flip frequency in order to reduce the dynamic power consumption. When the receiving rate is high, the reading clock frequency will be improved timely to ensure that no data will lost. Simulated and verified by Modelsim, the proposed method can dynamically control the clock frequency, including the dynamic switching of high-speed and low-speed clock flip rates, or stop of the clock flip. 展开更多

The variability characteristics of Guangdong daily power load from 2002 to 2004 and its connection to meteorological variables are analyzed with wavelet analysis and correlation analysis. Prediction equations are established using optimization subset regression. The results show that a linear increasing trend is very significant and seasonal change is obvious. The power load exhibits significant quasi-weekly (5 – 7 days) oscillation, quasi-by-weekly (10 – 20 days) oscillation and intraseasonal (30 – 60 days) oscillation. These oscillations are caused by atmospheric low frequency oscillation and public holidays. The variation of Guangdong daily power load is obviously in decrease on Sundays, shaping like a funnel during Chinese New Year in particular. The minimum is found at the first and second day and the power load gradually increases to normal level after the third day during the long vacation of Labor Day and National Day. Guangdong power load is the most sensitive to temperature, which is the main affecting factor, as in other areas in China. The power load also has relationship with other meteorological elements to some extent during different seasons. The maximum of power load in summer, minimum during Chinese New Year and variation during Labor Day and National Day are well fitted and predicted using the equation established by optimization subset regression and accounting for the effect of workdays and holidays. 展开更多

This study is to investigate the changes of back muscle electromyography (EMG) in occupational low back pain (LBP) patients pre-and post-rehabilitation.20 occupational LBP patients were asked to perform sepcially designed symmetrical and asymmetrical actions,which include"carrying"weights up and down with a 45° left rotation.Back muscle EMG signals were recorded from surface of paraspinal muscles.The tests performed in the weeks immediately before and after 12-week rehabilitation treatment.The profile and mean power frequency (MPF) of EMG were compared between pre-and post-rehabilitation.EMG profiles showed unchangeable,but the MPF showed significantly increase in post-rehabilitation comparing to pre-rehabilitation.That suggested that the muscle activity strategies could not be modified by rehabilitation,but the rehabilitation would increase the threshold of fatigue and reduce the possible muscle pain in back paraspinal muscles. 展开更多

This paper presents a wide tuning range CMOS frequency synthesizer for a dual-band GPS receiver,which has been fabricated in a standard 0.18μm RF CMOS process. With a high Q on-chip inductor, the wide-band VCO shows a tuning range from 2 to 3.6GHz to cover 2.45 and 3.14GHz in case of process corner or temperature variation,with a current consumption varying accordingly from 0.8 to 0.4mA,from a 1.8V supply voltage. Measurement results show that the whole frequency synthesizer consumes very low power of 5.6mW working at L1 band with in-band phase noise less than - 82dBc/Hz and out-of-band phase noise about - ll2dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset from a 3. 142GHz carrier. The major problem in current online diagnosis and analysis for power system oscillation is mainly concerned with finding the oscillation source in a fast and correct way using the data collected by the Wide Area Measurement System(WAMS).This paper for the first time proposes a scheme of cut set energy based on WAMS.Independent of accurate parameters,the scheme can make full use of WAMS data based on cut set energy construction and fast calculation to locate the source during oscillation.Afterwards,a scheme of torque decomposition is proposed,based on which the controller’s torque can be divided into damping torque and synchronous torque by calculation through WAMS data,and this paper puts forward the abnormal response and simulation models calibration of influential controllers.Analysis of an oscillation case shows how the cut set energy scheme and the torque decomposition scheme are applied in a real-world power system,and the schemes are proven to be reliable and practical in identifying and locating oscillation sources. 展开更多

The development of a high performance wideband radio frequency (RF) transceiver used in the next generation mobile communication system is presented. The developed RF transceiver operates in the 6 to 6.3 GHz band and the channel bandwidth is up to 100 MHz. It operates in the time division duplex (TDD) mode and supports the multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) technique for the international mobile telecommunications (IMT)-advanced systems. The classical superheterodyne scheme is employed to achieve optimal performance. Design issues of the essential components such as low noise amplifier, power amplifier and local oscillators are described in detail. Measurement results show that the maximum linear output power of the RF transceiver is above 23 dBm, and the gain and noise figure of the low noise amplifier is around 24 dB and below 1 dB, respectively. Furthermore, the error vector magnitude (EVM) measurement shows that the performance of the developed RF transceiver is well beyond the requirements of the long term evolution (LTE)-advanced system. With up to 8 x 8 MIMO configuration, the RF transceiver supports more than a 1 Gbit/s data rate in field tests. 展开更多

背景:创伤性脑损伤是由头部受到撞击、打击而导致大脑正常功能被破坏的疾病,目前需要寻找有效治疗方式和客观指标,帮助医生判别损伤状况及恢复患者脑功能。目的:探究电针联合低频经颅超声刺激对创伤性脑损伤大鼠脑电信号的影响。方法:... 背景:创伤性脑损伤是由头部受到撞击、打击而导致大脑正常功能被破坏的疾病,目前需要寻找有效治疗方式和客观指标,帮助医生判别损伤状况及恢复患者脑功能。目的:探究电针联合低频经颅超声刺激对创伤性脑损伤大鼠脑电信号的影响。方法:将40只6周龄SPF级雄性SD大鼠随机分为假手术组、模型组、电针组、低频经颅超声刺激组和联合组(n=8),后4组采用Feeney自由落体法造模,假手术组只开骨窗而不打击。各干预组均于造模后1 d开始实施干预,电针组进行电针干预,低频经颅超声刺激组进行低频经颅超声刺激干预,联合组进行两者联合干预,共干预7 d。造模后8 h,用改良神经功能缺损评分评定大鼠神经功能缺损情况;干预7 d后观察大鼠Y迷宫自发轮流行为百分比,而后采集脑电信号,利用快速傅里叶变换分解出α、β、θ和δ波段,计算各频段振荡幅值、能量占比百分比以及Lempel-Ziv复杂度、样本熵。结果与结论:①造模后8 h,模型组、电针组、低频经颅超声刺激组和联合组的改良神经功能缺损评分显著高于假手术组(P<0.05);②造模后第7天,模型组的α波、δ波频带振荡幅值、δ波能量占比百分比显著高于假手术组(P<0.05),自发轮流行为百分比、α波、β波能量占比百分比、Lempel-Ziv复杂度、样本熵显著低于假手术组(P<0.05);③与模型组比较,联合组的α波、δ波频带振荡幅值显著下降(P<0.05),电针组、低频经颅超声刺激组、联合组的α波、β波频带能量占比百分比显著升高(P<0.05),δ波能量占比百分比显著下降(P<0.05);④与电针组和低频经颅超声刺激组相比,联合组的δ波能量占比百分比显著降低(P<0.05),自发轮流行为百分比、α波、β波能量占比百分比、Lempel-Zi复杂度、样本熵显著升高(P<0.05);⑤结果显示,创伤性脑损伤大鼠出现脑电信号异常,而电针联合低频经颅超声刺激干预后可以改善大鼠脑电信号的异常情况,提示脑电频域特征和非线性特征可用来评估创伤性脑损伤情况。 展开更多

A pulse swallowing frequency divider with low power and compact structure is presented.One of the DFFs in the divided by 2/3 prescaier is controlled by the modulus control signal,and automatically powered off when it has no contribution to the operation of the prescaier.The DFFs in the program counter and the swallow counter are shared to compose a compact structure,which reduces the power consumption further.The proposed multi-modulus frequency divider was implemented in a standard 65 nm CMOS process with an area of 28×22μm;.The power consumption of the divider is 0.6 mW under 1.2 V supply voltage when operating at 988 MHz. 展开更多

背景:目前已有关于低频脉冲磁场对骨骼肌结构形态影响研究发现了骨骼肌质量变化,但对接受慢性暴露后的形态变化未见相关研究。目的:观察低频脉冲磁场慢性暴露对腿部股四头肌最大自主收缩力与形态指标的影响,为使用该技术作为肌肉功能改... 背景:目前已有关于低频脉冲磁场对骨骼肌结构形态影响研究发现了骨骼肌质量变化,但对接受慢性暴露后的形态变化未见相关研究。目的:观察低频脉冲磁场慢性暴露对腿部股四头肌最大自主收缩力与形态指标的影响,为使用该技术作为肌肉功能改善策略提供组织形态变化的参考依据。方法:招募普通健康受试者70名,随机分为接受磁场刺激的试验组与进行假治疗的对照组,每组35名,试验时长共计4周,试验组受试者每隔48 h进行1次15 min的低频脉冲磁刺激干预,对照组进行假治疗,干预间隔与时长与试验组一致,干预4周后观察不同组别受试者股四头肌最大自主收缩力值变化,利用B型超声影像作为评估手段,观察肌肉厚度、肌肉横截面积及羽状角指标的变化。结果与结论:①经过4周的低频脉冲磁场慢性暴露,68名受试者完成试验,试验组受试者股四头肌最大自主收缩力测试值显著增长(P=0.000),提升幅度显著高于对照组(P=0.008);②试验组受试者的肌肉形态3项指标均显著高于试验前测(P=0.000),而对照组肌肉厚度指标呈显著性下降(P=0.020),羽状角无显著性变化,横截面积显著性提升(P=0.000);③组间对比发现,试验组关于肌肉形态的肌肉厚度(P=0.012)、羽状角(P=0.003)及横截面积(P=0.049)3项指标均显著高于对照组;④上述数据证实,健康成年受试者经过4周的低频脉冲磁场慢性暴露,股四头肌的最大自主收缩力显著提升,同时观察到试验组的肌肉厚度、横截面积及羽状角3项肌肉形态指标的显著增长,对使用该技术作为肌肉改善的运动替代与医疗策略提供了肌组织形态改善的支持依据。 展开更多

The low frequency oscillation characteristics of East China Power Grid after commissioning of the first ultra-high voltage alternating current(UHVAC)project-the Huai-Hu UHVAC project are studied.Several low frequency oscillation cases occurred in East China Power Grid in the past few years are reviewed and summarized.Based on the analysis of the different typical operation modes,the main low frequency oscillation modes in East China Power Grid in the early stages of development of ultra-high voltage(UHV)are summarized,and the impacts of the significant power grid maintenance on low frequency oscillation characteristics are analyzed.Besides,the oscillation mode of UHV generators to East China Power Grid is researched,and the importance of the power system stabilizator(PSS)is emphasized.Furthermore,the comparative analysis between the time domain and the frequency domain is carried out,and the influences of the governing system on low frequency oscillation characteristics are revealed.Finally,both the focus and the direction of low frequency oscillation research are presented. 展开更多
