Granular power management in a power-efficient system on a chip(SoC)requires multiple integrated voltage regulators with a small area,process scalability,and low supply voltage.Conventional on-chip analog low-dropout ...Granular power management in a power-efficient system on a chip(SoC)requires multiple integrated voltage regulators with a small area,process scalability,and low supply voltage.Conventional on-chip analog low-dropout regulators(ALDOs)can hardly meet these requirements,while digital LDOs(DLDOs)are good alternatives.However,the conventional DLDO,with synchronous control,has inherently slow transient response limited by the power-speed trade-off.Meanwhile,it has a poor power supply rejection(PSR),because the fully turned-on power switches in DLDO are vulnerable to power supply ripples.In this comparative study on DLDOs,first,we compare the pros and cons between ALDO and DLDO in general.Then,we summarize the recent DLDO advanced techniques for fast transient response and PSR enhancement.Finally,we discuss the design trends and possible directions of DLDO.展开更多
A power management unit (PMU) chip supplying dual panel supply voltage, which has a low electro-magnetic interference (EMI) characteristic and is favorable for miniaturization, is designed. A two-phase charge pump cir...A power management unit (PMU) chip supplying dual panel supply voltage, which has a low electro-magnetic interference (EMI) characteristic and is favorable for miniaturization, is designed. A two-phase charge pump circuit using external pumping capacitor increases its pumping current and works out the charge-loss problem by using bulk-potential biasing circuit. A low-power start-up circuit is also proposed to reduce the power consumption of the band-gap reference voltage generator. And the ring oscillator used in the ELVSS power circuit is designed with logic devices by supplying the logic power supply to reduce the layout area. The PMU chip is designed with MagnaChip’s 0.25 μm high-voltage process. The driving currents of ELVDD and ELVSS are more than 50 mA when a SPICE simulation is done.展开更多
随着汽车技术的不断发展,汽车的电气设备种类越来越多,电器消耗的电能占整车能量比重不断上升,对汽车低压电源管理提出更高要求。为满足用户日益增长的汽车电子设备用电需求,达到减少整车能量消耗、提高电池充电效率的目的,在对纯电动...随着汽车技术的不断发展,汽车的电气设备种类越来越多,电器消耗的电能占整车能量比重不断上升,对汽车低压电源管理提出更高要求。为满足用户日益增长的汽车电子设备用电需求,达到减少整车能量消耗、提高电池充电效率的目的,在对纯电动汽车负载进行分类的基础上,利用遗传算法对用于电量安全分级的低压电池荷电状态(state of charge,SOC)进行优化,并提出一种基于SOC的4级恒流低压锂电池充电管理策略;利用AVL-Cruise和MATLAB-Simulink软件联合仿真搭建车辆模型,采用不同工况进行仿真验证和对比分析。结果表明,低压锂电池电源管理策略能够满足纯电动汽车的电量安全性要求,在一定程度上提高了整车经济性;优化后的锂电池充电效率有一定的提高,充电时间也有所减少。展开更多

Compared to the conventional curvature-compensated BGR which adopted a piecewise-linear current,the temperature characterize of the proposed BGR is effectively improved by adopting two kinds of current including a piecewise-linear current and a current proportional 1. 5 party to the absolute temperature T. By adopting a low dropout( LDO) regulator whose output voltage is the operating supply voltage of the proposed BGR core circuit instead of power supply voltage VDD,the proposed BGR with LDO regulator achieves a well PSRR performance than the BGR without LDO regulator. Simulation results show that the proposed BGR with LDO regulator achieves a temperature coefficient of 2. 1 × 10-6/ ℃ with a 1. 8 V power supply voltage and a line regulation of 4. 9 μV / V at 27 ℃. The proposed BGR with LDO regulator at 10 Hz,100 Hz,1 k Hz,10 k Hz and 100 k Hz have the PSRR of- 106. 388,- 106. 388,- 106. 38,- 105. 93 and-88. 67 d B respectively.展开更多
