This paper presents the results of the analysis of the vibrato parameter in the singing. The well-known fact is the existence of vibrato of sufficient quality in the voices of professional singers. The authors focus here on the choral voices to assess the quality of their singing from the point of view of the vibrato parameter. The method presented here is developed to evaluate the vibrato while singing under conditions close to the real ones. The study was carried out on the recordings of the members of an academic choir. As a result of tests it was found that not all singers present the same quality of vibrato in terms of deviation of vibrato confidence (STDCV).展开更多

Based on low-rank and sparse optimization theory, in this paper, we propose a new singing voice separation algorithm called Low-rank, Sparse Representation with pre-learned dictionaries and side Information (LSRi). The algorithm incorporates both the vocal and instrumental spectrograms as sparse matrix and low-rank matrix, meanwhile combines pre-learning dictionary and the reconstructed voice spectrogram form the annotation. Evaluations on the iKala dataset show that the proposed methods are effective and efficient for singing voice separation.展开更多

Aim: To investigate the effect of singing on peak flow, speech- and swallowing abilities in individuals with CP. Method: Ten adults with CP received one-to-one singing lessons by a professional singing teacher for one hour twice a week for 6 months. Methods: The peak flow, swallowing-, speech-, and eating abilities were investigated pre, and after 3 months and 6 months of singing. Results: The meal analysis revealed that an average of eleven factors was improved after 6 months of singing. Nine out of ten participants improved their pronunciation of the letter “N” and seven participants improved their pronunciation of the letter “G”. The singing lessons increased the peak flow significantly (p = 0.02;Pre = 246 ± 36, 3 months = 287 ± 34, and 6 months = 336 ± 48). Self-reported difficulties on a 1 - 10 scale reduced significantly for both swallowing (p = 0.039) and speaking (p = 0.049). Conclusion: 6 months of singing lessons improve the peak flow, speech-, swallowing- and eating abilities in adults with CP. The present study indicates that singing is a very promising intervention for the treatment of speech and eating impairments in individuals with CP.展开更多

But the deep-rooted traditional ideas and the artistic aesthetics accumulated over thousands of years have also given the opera a new youth in China. Among them, the most affected area is singing technique. As one of the most intuitive external performance features of opera, singing technique has been the most affected by “localization” and has created a unique singing method belonging to China. Of course, this method is not formed in one fell swoop. The purpose of this paper is to explore the process of “localization” of opera singing technique in the context of Chinese culture, and to demonstrate it completely from the forms, methods, ideas and systems of change, so as to apply the theory more deeply to practical singing and teaching.展开更多
