Educational Innovation in Lying Flat Phenomenon-A Case Study of the Balinese Teaching Experience

Lying flat(Tang Ping)is a prevalent way of life in contemporary countries throughout the world.It is an avoidance behavior chosen by individuals in response to limited social resources and ongoing harsh social competition.Previous studies have demonstrated that the phenomena of“lying flat”has a major negative effect on student learning.In order to investigate the impact of educational innovation on the phenomenon of“lying flat”,we will observe students’learning behaviors under the traditional education model and innovative teaching methods in our Bali teaching practice to determine the causes of“lying flat”and the means to improve educational innovation.The study found that“lying flat”is caused not just by students’discontent with their level difference,but also by the conflict between external resources and internal pressure.In addition,educational reforms on three levels,including further stratified education,strengthening teacher education and promoting effective communication between students and teachers,and employing online resources to promote students’interest in learning,can ameliorate the phenomenon of pupils“lying flat”.This study contends that educational innovation can have a positive effect on the phenomena of“lying flat”.

Hyaluronic acid injection in the auricular base for the aesthetic correction of lying ears:A retrospective study

Background Ears play an important role in facial profiles.Lying ears are not perceived favorably in Asian cultures;therefore,surgical procedures are implemented to adjust this defect.However,surgery has complications and requires recovery time.We introduced a hyaluronic acid(HA)injection technique to aesthetically improve ear prominence.Methods This retrospective study examined 25 Chinese patients aged 20-47 years with congenital lying ears who received HA injections in the auricular base at Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital and Hangzhou Yijie Medical Cosmetology Clinic between November 2019 and December 2022.The average injection volume was 6.32​±​1.22 mL in the auricular base unilaterally,and the follow-up time ranged from 6 to 24 months.Morphological measurement data were recorded.Two-dimensional(2D)and three-dimensional(3D)images were obtained to evaluate the effects.Results All patients showed improvements in ear prominence.The cranioauricular angle(CAA)increased from 22.24°​±​4.53°to 65.90°​±​5.38°immediately post-injection and was maintained at 49.18°​±​4.74°6 months later.The ear projection(EP)increased from 14.75​±​2.72 mm to 26.26​±​2.94 mm immediately post-injection and was 22.51​±​2.68 mm after 6 months.No serious complications were noted.Conclusion HA injection in the auricular base effectively corrected the lying ears and aesthetically optimized the facial profile.It also had a face-lift effect that made the face look younger and more compact.The injection procedure was minimally invasive and required no recovery period.The effect was maintained for a long time and was satisfactory.

The Preliminary Study on the Converting Measures between the Four Waters in Wet and Low-lying Farmland

Most of China's wetland areas are located in the Sanjiang Plain.This area has 207×10 4 hm 2 of wet and low lying farmland,of which 59% is cropped.During the 1970s and 1980s,the Chinese government organized intensive scientific research into potential changes to existing natural resources conditions for these farmlands.The aim was to change the water resources regime to one that was beneficial to crop production.Arterial drainage,field drainage and appropriate sub soil treatments were required.The relation between plant products industry and the Four Waters distribution,also the main measures of the Four Waters converting in wet and low lying farmland were discussed in the paper.

Effect of upright and ambulant positions versus lying down during the active first stage of labor on birth outcomes among nulliparous women:randomized controlled clinical trial

Objective:To examine the effect of upright and ambulant positions versus lying down during the active first stage of labor on birth outcomes for nulliparous women.Methods:This is a randomized controlled clinical trial conducted at the delivery department of Damanhour Educational Institute,El Behira Governorate,Egypt.The study sample involved 150 parturient women equally divided into intervention and control groups using randomization block technique.The researchers used four tools for data collection:Demographic data interview schedule,World Health Organization Partograph,Apgar’s score,to evaluate neonatal outcomes,and visual analogue pain intensity scale.For the study group,the parturient women were encouraged to assume one of the upright positions or ambulating around the bed so as to maintain the pelvis in vertical plane as far as possible for 20-25 min for every 1 h.The control group received routine hospital care,which includes lying down in bed.IBM SPSS 23.0 was used to analyze the data.Results:Significant differences(P<0.05)were observed between the study and control groups in relation to cervical dilation,fetal head descent,uterine contractions interval,and frequency.The duration of the first stage of labor significantly reduced(P=0.018)in the intervention group compared with control group.No significant differences(P>0.05)were observed between both groups in term of emergency cesarean birth rates,oxytocin use,and neonatal outcomes.Conclusions:This study proves that upright and ambulant positions significantly enhance uterine contractility,cervical dilatation,and fetal head descent and reduce the first stage duration.

Internal Contradictions of Wilde’s Aestheticism——On The Decay of Lying

The Decay of Lying,one of Wilde’s famous critic dialogues,is a demonstration of his aesthetic opinions,such as Art is telling lies,Life imitates art etc,which gives full expression of his pursue of art’s purity and independence.Wilde absolutely takes the side of art and is against the forced interference of art as the subject by politics,utilitarianism,morality and ethics,against the erosion of the artistic realm of beauty by over-realness,against taking the form of art as the accessory to certain content or subject.However,Wilde totally isolates art from reality by putting them in the position of dual antithesis,and this is the root of the internal contradictions in his Aestheticism.This essay aims to discuss the contradictions from four aspects:contradiction between art and real life,art and morality,art and truth and then contradiction between art’s form and content,so as to get a better understanding and correct evaluation of Wilde and his aestheticism.

From Neurons to Cognition:Technologies for Precise Recording of Neural Activity Underlying Behavior

Understanding how brain activity encodes information and controls behavior is a long-standing question in neuroscience.This complex problem requires converging efforts from neuroscience and engineering,including technological solutions to perform high-precision and large-scale recordings of neuronal activity in vivo as well as unbiased methods to reliably measure and quantify behavior.Thanks to advances in genetics,molecular biology,engineering,and neuroscience,in recent decades,a variety of optical imaging and electrophysiological approaches for recording neuronal activity in awake animals have been developed and widely applied in the field.Moreover,sophisticated computer vision and machine learning algorithms have been developed to analyze animal behavior.In this review,we provide an overview of the current state of technology for neuronal recordings with a focus on optical and electrophysiological methods in rodents.In addition,we discuss areas that future technological development will need to cover in order to further our understanding of the neural activity underlying behavior.

Lipidome Atlas of the Developing Heart Uncovers Dynamic Membrane Lipid Attributes Underlying Cardiac Structural and Metabolic Maturation

Precise metabolic rewiring during heart organogenesis underlies normal cardiac development.Herein,we utilized high-coverage,quantitative lipidomic approaches to construct lipidomic atlases of whole hearts(861 lipids;31 classes)and mitochondria(587 lipids;27 classes)across prenatal and postnatal developmental stages in mice.We uncovered the progressive formation of docosahexaenoyl-phospholipids and enhanced remodeling of C18:2,C20:3,and C20:4 fatty acyl moieties into cardiolipins as cardiac development progresses.A preferential flow of ceramides toward sphingomyelin biosynthesis over complex glycosphingolipid formation was also noted.Using maSigPro and GPclust algorithms,we identified a repertoire of 448 developmentally dynamic lipids and mapped their expression patterns to a library of 550 biologically relevant developmentally dynamic genes.Our combinatorial transcriptomics and lipidomics approaches identified Hadha,Lclat1,and Lpcat3 as candidate molecular drivers governing the dynamic remodeling of cardiolipins and phospholipids,respectively,in heart development.Our analyses revealed that postnatal cardiolipin remodeling in the heart constitutes a biphasic process,which first accumulates polyunsaturated C78-cardiolipins prior to tetralinoleoyl cardiolipin forming the predominant species.Multiomics analyses supplemented with transmission electron microscopy imaging uncovered enhanced mitochondria–lipid droplet contacts mediated by perilipin-5.Our combinatorial analyses of multiomics data uncovered an association between mitochondrial-resident,docosahexaenoic acid-phospholipids and messenger RNA levels of proton-transporting adenosine triphosphate synthases on inner mitochondrial membranes,which adds credence to the membrane pacemaker theory of metabolism.The current findings offer lipid-centric biological insights potentially important to understanding the molecular basis of cardiac metabolic flexibility and disease pathology.

2D-3D点集配准的目标是寻找三维原始点集与二维目标投影点集之间的对应关系和最优变换.为了给出配准问题的解析解,避免投影引起的体积退化,提出基于Lie群表示的保体积2D-3D点集配准算法.首先,考虑投影矩阵和旋转矩阵的非交换性,引入Lie群表示,将配准问题形式化为一个Lie群优化问题.利用局部线性化方法,将Lie群优化问题转化为一个可计算的二次规划问题.其次,为了避免体积退化,考虑约束变换后的三维点集的投影与二维目标点集的投影具有相同的体积.为便于计算,引入Jensen-Bregman LogDet散度作为保体积正则项,将计算点集的体积差异转化为计算协方差矩阵之间的差异.然后,通过交替求解对应关系和最优变换,形成完整且可解的迭代策略.最后,在两个经典数据集上进行对比实验和消融实验,验证了该算法的精确性和有效性.

More than Scratching the Surface:Recent Progress in Brain Mechanisms Underlying Itch and Scratch

Itch(also called pruritus)is an unpleasant somatosensation that evokes a desire or reflex to scratch in humans and other mammals[1],Itch is now considered to be a unique sensory modality that is encoded by a labeled line that has genetically distinguishable neurons in the peripheral and central nervous systems[1],Acute itch evokes scratching that may help to remove potentially harmful irritants from the skin,which is believed to be evolutionarily important for survival.Pathological chronic itch often occurs in patients with inflammatory skin diseases,systemic diseases,and neurological conditions.Importantly,chronic itch causes uncontrollable itch-scratch cycles that induce skin damage,affect sleep,and seriously reduce the quality of life[2].At present,effective treatment for chronic itch is still lacking,possibly due to limited understanding of the mechanism of itch information-processing in the nervous system.Therefore,elucidation of the molecular,cellular,and circuitry mechanisms of itch will eventually help to develop new effective strategies for the management of chronic itch.

Classification of lying states for the humanoid robot SJTU-HR1

The humanoid robot SJTU-HR1's concept is introduced and its characteristics tree is given.The basic states for SJTU-HR1 are proposed,including lying,sitting,standing and handstanding,abstracted from the daily exercises of human beings.The GF(generalized function) set theory is exploited to achieve the kinematic characteristics of the interested EEs(end-effectors) of SJTU-HR1 for the lying states.Finally,the results show that the large amounts of states can be described using the abbreviations in a systematic manner.Although we have focused on the application of the GF set theory to humanoid robots,particularly the SJTU-HR1,this methodology can also be applied to quadruped robots and hexapedal robots,especially when the desired tasks are complex.

CLASSIFICATIONS OF DUPIN HYPERSURFACES IN LIE SPHERE GEOMETRY

This is a survey of local and global classification results concerning Dupin hypersurfaces in S^(n)(or R^(n))that have been obtained in the context of Lie sphere geometry.The emphasis is on results that relate Dupin hypersurfaces to isoparametric hypersurfaces in spheres.Along with these classification results,many important concepts from Lie sphere geometry,such as curvature spheres,Lie curvatures,and Legendre lifts of submanifolds of S^(n)(or R^(n)),are described in detail.The paper also contains several important constructions of Dupin hypersurfaces with certain special properties.

Long-term trends in the abundance and breeding performance in Adélie penguins:the Argentine Ecosystem Monitoring Program

In this work,we report long-term trends in the abundance and breeding performance of Adélie penguins(Pygoscelis adeliae)nesting in three Antarctic colonies(i.e.,at Martin Point,South Orkneys Islands;Stranger Point/Cabo Funes,South Shetland Islands;and Esperanza/Hope Bay in the Antarctic Peninsula)from 1995/96 to 2022/23.Using yearly count data of breeding groups selected,we observed a decline in the number of breeding pairs and chicks in crèche at all colonies studied.However,the magnitude of change was higher at Stranger Point than that in the remaining colonies.Moreover,the index of breeding success,which was calculated as the ratio of chicks in crèche to breeding pairs,exhibited no apparent trend throughout the study period.However,it displayed greater variability at Martin Point compared to the other two colonies under investigation.Although the number of chicks in crèche of Adélie penguins showed a declining pattern,the average breeding performance was similar to that reported in gentoo penguin colonies,specifically,those undergoing a population increase(even in sympatric colonies facing similar local conditions).Consequently,it is plausible to assume a reduction of the over-winter survival as a likely cause of the declining trend observed,at least in the Stranger Point and Esperanza colonies.However,we cannot rule out local effects during the breeding season affecting the Adélie population of Martin Point.
