The machine is used to conduct different experiments related to the deep drawing process. This work was implemented in three stages: the first was the design stage, in which all design calculations of the DDM elements were completed based on the specifications of the product (cup) to be drawn; the second was the construction stage, in which the DDM elements were fabricated and assembled at the engineering workshops of the university; the last was the operating and experimentation stage, in which the DDM was tested by conducting different experiments. The experience gained from designing and constructing such a mechanical lab equipment was found to be successful in terms of obtaining practical results that agree with those available in literature, cost-effective relative to the cost of a similar purchased equipment, as well as enhancing students' abilities in understanding the deep drawing process in particular and machine elements design concepts in general.展开更多

An optimal design model of structural parameters for shield cutterhead is formulated, based on the complex engineering technical requirements. In the model, as the objective function of the model is a composite function of the strength and stiffness, the response surface method is applied to formulate the approximate function of objective function in order to reduce the solution scale of optimal problem. A multi-objective genetic algorithm is used to solve the cutterhead structure design problem and the change rule of the stress-strain with various structural parameters as well as their optimal values were researched under specific geological conditions. The results show that compared with original cutterhead structure scheme, the obtained optimal scheme of the cutterhead structure can greatly improve the strength and stiffness of the cutterhead, which can be seen from the reduction of its maximum equivalent stress by 21.2%, that of its maximum deformation by 0.75%, and that of its mass by 1.04%.展开更多

It can move on the rails of a paddy soil bin to simulate the tractive performance of a boat-type tractor in thc paddy field. Kinematics and dynam- ics of the walking device is analysed. Because it can ensure that the blade foot enters and leaves the soil vertically, and eliminates the functions of the soil compression and pick by the blade entirely, so the volume of the blade cavity can be reduced to a minimum and the efficiency of the walking sys- tem has been rasied considerably. Thus, it is feasible to adopt a four-footed walking mechanism in the boat-type tractor.展开更多
