The Dahongshan Fe-Cu(-Au)deposit is a superlarge deposit in the Kangdian metallogenic belt, southwestern China, comprising approximately 458 Mt of Fe ores(40%Fe)and 1.35 Mt Cu.Two main types of Fe-Cu(-Au)mineralization are present in the Dahongshan deposit:(1)early submarine volcanic exhalation and sedimentary mineralization characterized by strata-bound fine-grained magnetite and banded Fe-Cu sulfide(pyrite and chalcopyrite)hosted in the Na-rich metavolcanic rocks;(2)late hydrothermal(-vein)type mineralization characterized by Fe-Cu sulfide veins in the hosted strata or massive coarse-grained magnetite orebodies controlled by faults. While previous studies have focused primarily on the early submarine volcanic and sedimentary mineralization of the deposit, data related to late hydrothermal mineralization is lacking. In order to establish the metallogenic age and ore-forming material source of the late hydrothermal(-vein)type mineralization, this paper reports the Re-Os dating of molybdenite from the late hydrothermal vein Fe-Cu orebody and H,O,S,and Pb isotopic compositions of the hydrothermal quartz-sulfide veins. The primary aim of this study was to establish the metallogenic age and ore-forming material source of the hydrothermal type orebody. Results show that the molybdenite separated from quartz-sulfide veins has a Re-Os isochron age of 831±11 Ma,indicating that the Dahongshan Fe-Cu deposit experienced hydrothermal superimposed mineralization in Neoproterozoic. The molybdenite has a Re concentration of 99.7-382.4 ppm, indicating that the Re of the hydrothermal vein ores were primarily derived from the mantle. The δ^(34)S values of sulfides from the hydrothermal ores are 2‰-8‰ showing multi-peak tower distribution, suggesting that S in the ore-forming period was primarily derived from magma and partially from calcareous sedimentary rock.Furthermore, the abundance of radioactive Pb increased significantly from ore-bearing strata to layered and hydrothermal vein ores, which may be related to the later hydrothermal transformation. The composition of H and O isotopes within the hydrothermal quartz indicates that the ore-forming fluid is a mixture of magmatic water and a small quantity of water. These results further indicate that the late hydrothermal orebodies were formed by the Neoproterozoic magmatic hydrothermal event, which might be related to the breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent.Mantle derived magmatic hydrothermal fluid extracted ore-forming materials from the metavolcanic rocks of Dahongshan Group and formed the hydrothermal(-vein)type Fe-Cu orebodies by filling and metasomatism. 展开更多

The Maoping Pb-Zn deposit(~3 Mt Pb+Zn reserves with grades of 12-30 wt%)is one of the largest Pb-Zn deposits in the Sichuan-Yunnan-Guizhou(SYG)metallogenic province, which has contributed a tremendous amount of lead and zinc resources for China. To obtain a further understanding of the sources of ore-forming materials and ore genesis of the deposit,S-Pb isotopes of sulfides and C-O isotopes of ore-stage calcites were systematically collected from representative orebodies at different elevations with a Finnigan MAT-253 mass spectrometer. The calcites separated from the sulfides of the NoⅠand NoⅡorebodies shared identical b13 CPDB values(-5.3 to-0.8‰)andδ18OSMOW values(+14.5 to+21.8‰)with those of the calcites in the SYG region, suggesting that CO2 in regional ore-forming fluids possibly had a homologous C-O source that originated from a ternary mixture of the dissolution of marine carbonate rocks, degassing process of the Emeishan mantle plume, and dehydroxylation of sedimentary organic matter. The No.Ⅰ-1 and No.Ⅰ-2 orebody was hosted in the same strata, but the sulfur source of No.Ⅰ-1 orebody(+13.1 to+19.0‰)with equilibrated sulfur fractionation(δ34Sspbaierite-<δ34Sgalena)and No.Ⅰ-2 orebody(+18.0 to+21.8‰)with sulfur equilibrium fractionation(δ34Sspnaierite>δ34-Sgalena)were different. They were derived from the allopatry thermochemical sulfate reduction(TSR)of overlying Carboniferous sulfates in the ore-hosting strata and local TSR of sulfates in the ore-bearing Upper Devonian Zaige Formation, respectively. The narrow and uniform Pb isotopic ratios of single galena grains collected from sulfides with 206Pb/204Pb of 18.713-18.759,207Pb/204Pb of 15.772-15.776 and 208Pb/204Pb of39.383-39.467 indicate a well-mixed metal source(s)that consist of Proterozoic Kunyang and Huili Group basement rocks and Devonian to Middle Permian ore-hosting sedimentary rocks.Besides, the late Permian Emeishan basalts are difficult to contribute metals for regional Pb-Zn mineralization despite a closely spatial relationship with the distribution of the Pb-Zn deposit. This is supported by Pb isotopic ratios plotting above the average upper crustal Pb evolution curves and staying far away from that of the agecorrected Emeishan basalts.Hence, taking into account of the similarities in tectonic setting,ore-hosting rock, ore assemblage, wall rock alteration,ore-controlling structure, and ore-forming materials and the differences in relationship with regional magmatism, fluid inclusion characteristic and ore grade between the Maoping deposit and typical MVT Pb-Zn deposit, the ore genesis of the Maoping deposit should be an MVT like Pb-Zn deposit. 展开更多

A comprehensive contrast of ore-forming geological background and ore-forming fluid features, especially fluid ore-forming processes, has been performed between the Tianmashan and the Datuanshan ore deposits in Tongling, Anhui Province. The major reasons for the formation of the stratabound skarn Au-S ore deposit in Tianmashan and the stratabound skarn Cu ore deposit in Datuanshan are analyzed in accordance with this contrast. The magmatic pluton in Tianmashan is rich in Au and poor in Cu, but that in Datuanshan is rich in Cu and Au. The wallrock strata in Tianmashan contain Au-bearing pyrite layers with some organic substance but those in Datuanshan contain no such layers. Moreover, the ore-forming fluids in Tianmashan are dominantly magmatic ones at the oxide and sulfide stages, but those with high content of Cu in Datuanshan are mainly groundwater fluids. In addition, differences in compositional evolution and physicochemical condition variation of the ore-forming fluids result in gradual dispersion 展开更多

Pb isotopic analyses were reported for sulfide and hydrothermal carbonate minerals and marble of the Xiquegou lead-zinc, the Zhenzigou zinc-lead and the Gaojiapuzi silver deposits from the Qingchengzi ore field and the Beiwagou zinc-lead deposit in the west, Proterozoic Liaodong rift zone. Pb isotopic ratios of the marble from the Qingchengzi ore field range from 18.24 to 30.63 for 206 Pb/204Pb, 15.59 to 17.05 for207Pb/204Pb and 37.43 to 38.63 for 208Pb/204Pb. The marble gives a Pb-Pb isochron age of 1822±92 Ma, which is interpreted as the age of the metamorphism of the marble. Ore Pb, including Pb of sulfide and hydrothermal car- bonate minerals, from the Qingchengzi ore field shows limited variation with 206 Pb/204Pb=17.66- 17.96, 207 Pb/204Pb=15.60-15.74 and 208Pb/204Pb=37.94-38.60. In contrast, ore Pb from the Beiwagou deposit gives different Pb isotopic ratios with 206Pb/204Pb=15.68-15.81, 207 Pb/204Pb= 15.34-15.45 and 208Pb/204Pb=35.30-35.68. Pb of all deposits from the Liaodong rift zone is derived from the upper crust. Ore Pb of the Qingchengzi deposits is derived from a young upper crust. The model Th/U ratios of 4.40 to 4.74 for ore Pb are significantly different from that of 1.7 to 4.4 given by the marble of the Qingchengzi ore field, suggesting that marble is not the source of the ore Pb. Ore Pb of the Beiwagou deposit is extracted from its source and the deposit is formed at the Paleoproterozoic era. Different Pb isotopic ratios of the Qingchengzi ore field and the Beiwagou deposit are due to different ages of the deposits and suggest that the two types of deposits are derived from different sources and are possibly formed by different ore-forming processes. 展开更多
