The configuration is formed by replacing the central part of the Z-wire pattern with a zigzag wire. We simulate the performance of this pattern by the finite element method which can take both the width and depth of the wire into consideration. The result of simulation shows that this configuration can create magnetic microtraps which can be separated and combined by changing bias magnetic field. We manage to split Z-wire trap and prove that similar result can occur for the new wire configuration. The fabrication processes of the atom chip are also introduced. Finally we discuss the loading method.展开更多

First the output torque is too small. Second, the attitude is difficult to be accurately detected. The new three-dimen- sional magnetic pole array can solve these major problems. The new actuator features an outer rotor with multiple permanent magnet (PM) poles. Using an analytical solution and the finite element so- lution simulation, the feasibility of the approach is verified. A prototype was developed, tested, and experiments were conducted to obtain the practical value of the magnetic flux density.展开更多

It was found that the array's best annealing temperature and crys- talline structure did not show any apparent dependence on the treatment of applying a 3 kOe magnetic field along the wire during the annealing process. For arrays with small Dw or with large Di, the treatment of magnetic field annealing also had no obvious influence on their magnetic performances. However, such a magnetic field annealing constrained the shift of the easy magnetization direction and improved the coercivity and the squareness obviously for arrays with large Dw or with small Di. The difference in the intensity of the effective anisotropic field within the arrays was believed to be responsible for this different variation of the array's magnetic properties after magnetic field annealing.展开更多

The interplay between the two plasmon modes can lead to a remarkable change in resonance lineshape and an improvement on magnetic field enhancement. Simultaneous electric field and magnetic field enhancement can be obtained in the gap region between neighboring particles at two resonance frequencies as the interplay occurs, which presents “open” cavities as electromagnetic field hot spots for potential applications on detection and sensing. The results not only offer an attractive way to tune the optical responses of plasmonic nanostructure, but also provide further insight into the plasmon interactions in periodic nanostructure or metamaterials comprising multiple elements.展开更多

The carbon fiber array cathode is constructed by inserting bunches of carbon fibers into the cylindrical surface of the cathode. In experiment, the diode base pressure is maintained at 1×10^(-2) Pa–2×10^(-2) Pa, and the diode is driven by a compact pulsed power system which can provide a diode voltage of about 100 kV and pulse duration of about 30 ns at a repetition rate of tens of Hz.Real-time pressure data are measured by a magnetron gauge. Under the similar conditions, the experimental results show that the outgassing rate of the carbon fiber array cathode is an order smaller than that of the velvet cathode and that this carbon fiber array cathode has better shot-to-shot stability than the velvet cathode. Hence, this carbon fiber array cathode is demonstrated to be a promising cathode for the radial diode, which can be used in magnetically insulated transmission line oscillator(MILO) and relativistic magnetron(RM).展开更多

The purpose was to improve the power quality of a marine power system (MPS) and strengthen the energy recycle. Two structures including the magnetic or non-magnetic inner-rotor were contrasted in the magnetostatic field by using finite element analysis (FEA). By optimally designing the size parameters, the average speed of FEA results of was 17 200 r/m, and the current was controlled between 62 and 68 A in the transient field. The electrical machine electromagnetism design was further optimized by the FEA in the temperature field, to find the local overheating point under the normal operation condition and provide guidance for the cooling system. Finally, it can be concluded from the comprehensive physical field analysis that the novel redundant structure M/G can improve the efficiency of the M/G and maintain the stability of the MPS.展开更多
