Under this circumstance, teachers tend to adopt a spoon-fed teaching method, and become the dominator in ESL class by setting the same instructional pace, explaining a grammar point, leading drill work; while the students' in-class participation is relatively low. As a result, students with different learning styles often feel suffocated in this teacher-dominated class; they desire to have more opportunities to participate in the free interactions or group discussions.Based on the theoretical framework of interactive teaching approach suggested by Lightbown and Spada(1993),the research aims to analyze the merits of students' in-group interaction and to examine the feasibility of implementing it in Chinese ESL class. The research reveals that in-group interaction can cultivate students' independent learning habits by granting them autonomy to bring about the problem and tackle them. Nonetheless, different perceptions from several students and teachers upon group work may influence the usefulness. The research strives to be instructive for the more efficient application of in-group interaction in Chinese ESL class.展开更多

The purpose of this study was to find a way to promote the collaboration and interaction of students and bring about the growth of learners through feedback while taking advantage of real-time interactive class via vi...The purpose of this study was to find a way to promote the collaboration and interaction of students and bring about the growth of learners through feedback while taking advantage of real-time interactive class via video conferencing tools.Although real-time interactive class with using video conferencing tools had great advantages,but there were also limitations of active interaction.To this end,real-time interactive tool and cloud-based educational platform were applied to create cases of learner participation classes and analyze the cases.The convergence of real-time interactive class tools and cloud tools has been able to draw students’participation and collaboration in non-face-to-face situations,and it can be seen that it is very helpful in creating learner-centered educational activities based on communication and interaction with students.Through this,the application of the cloud-based educational platform in real-time interactive class could lead students to participate and collaborate even in non-face-to-face situations.展开更多
In this paper,improvement on man-computer interactive classification of clouds based on hispeetral satellite imagery has been synthesized by using the maximum likelihood automatic clustering(MLAC)and the unit feature ...In this paper,improvement on man-computer interactive classification of clouds based on hispeetral satellite imagery has been synthesized by using the maximum likelihood automatic clustering(MLAC)and the unit feature space classification(UFSC)approaches.The improved classification not only shortens the time of sample-training in UFSC method,but also eliminates the inevitable shortcomings of the MLAC method.(e.g.,1.sample selecting and training is confined only to one cloud image:2.the result of clustering is pretty sensitive to the selection of initial cluster center:3.the actual classification basically can not satisfy the supposition of normal distribution required by MLAC method;4.errors in classification are difficult to be modified.) Moreover,it makes full use of the professionals'accumulated knowledge and experience of visual cloud classifications and the cloud report of ground observation,having ensured both the higher accuracy of classification and its wide application as well.展开更多

However, the current situation of English teaching cannot keep pace with the requirements of the Senior High School Standards. The improvement of teaching quality has become the focus in the new era. This paper analyzes the situation of English teaching in Southwest China. A questionnaire-based survey indicates the typical problems, such as silent classes, lack of student-student interaction, and low quality of teacher-student interaction, which will impede the improvement of English teaching quality and hinder students to develop.
