The use of condition monitoring and fault diagnosis(CMFD)in marine power systems significantly influences ship safety.This study divides the development of CMFD for marine power systems into three periods and reviews the content,state and limitations of CMFD research for each period.According to the research achievements and engineering experience of the authors’team,typical application cases are introduced for CMFD in ships,including CMFD platforms on engineering ships,salvage ships,container ships and ro-ro ships powered by solar photovoltaic systems.Finally,prospective research directions are proposed for CMFD in marine power systems,considering the research status of CMFD and the trend toward intelligent and eco-friendly ships. 展开更多

An Improved Immune Clone Selection Algorithm for Parameters Optimization of Marine Electric Power System Stabilizer

In themarine electric power system,the marine generators will be disturbed by the large change of loads or the fault of the power system.The marine generators usually installed power system stabilizers to damp power system oscillations through the excitation control.This paper proposes a novel method to obtain optimal parameter values for Power System Stabilizer(PSS)to suppress low-frequency oscillations in the marine electric power system.In this paper,a newly developed immune clone selection algorithm was improved from the three aspects of the adaptive incentive degree,vaccination,and adaptive mutation strategies.Firstly,the typical PSS implementation type of leader-lag structure was adopted and the objective function was set in the optimization process.The performance of PSS tuned by improved immune clone selection algorithm was compared with PSS tuned by basic immune clone selection algorithm(ICSA)under various operating conditions and disturbances.Then,an improved immune clone selection algorithm(IICSA)optimization technique was implemented on two test systems for test purposes.Based on the simulations,it is found that an improved immune clone selection algorithm demonstrates superiority over the basic immune clone selection algorithm in getting a smaller number of iterations and fast convergence rates to achieve the optimal parameters of the power system stabilizers.Moreover,the proposed approach improves the stability and dynamic performance under various loads conditions and disturbances of the marine electric power system. 展开更多

For the successful operation of any industry or plant continuous availability of power supply is essential.Many of the large-scale plants established their power generation units.Marine power plant having two generators is also fall in this category.In this study,an effort is made to derive and optimize the availability of a marine power plant having two generators,one switch board and distribution switchboards.For this purpose,a mathematical model is proposed using Markov birth death process by considering exponentially distributed failure and repair rates of all the subsystems.The availability expression of marine power plant is derived.Metaheuristic algorithms namely dragonfly algorithm(DA),bat algorithm(BA)and whale optimization(WOA)are employed to optimize the availability of marine power plant.It is revealed that whale optimization algorithm outperforms over dragonfly algorithm(DA),and bat algorithm(BA)in optimum availability prediction and parameter estimation.The numerical values of the availability and estimated parameters are appended as numerical results.The derived results can be utilized in development of maintenance strategies of marine power plants and to carry out design modifications. 展开更多
