Discussion on the Application of Technical and Tactical Skills in Mixed Martial Arts Competitions

This article mainly analyzes the application of technical and tactical skills in mixed martial arts competitions,including mixed martial arts and its competition characteristics,the main application significance of technical and tactical skills in mixed martial arts competitions,and its primary application strategies.It is hoped that this analysis can provide some guidelines for the appropriate application of mixed martial arts athletes’technical and tactical skills to improve their winning rate in mixed martial arts competitions.

From Martial Arts to Practice： A Philosophical Examination of the Term Martial Art

The term martial art is used as a heading to discuss a wide range of combative styles; however, the term is deployed in ways that exposes a disconnection between the term and the styles to which it is referring. In this paper, I explore the disconnection between the martial arts and posit that martial art is an oxymoron as described by Michel de Certeau. As an alternative to the oxymoronic use of martial art, I examine two conceptions of practice： the first advanced by Alasdair Maclntyre and applied to martial arts by Charles Hackney; the second advanced by Todd May and amended with ideas from Noel Carroll. The latter conception of practice begins to establish a new way to consider the relationships among the combative styles and how these can be incorporated into the term martial arts, thereby quelling the disconnection between the term and the styles.

Research on Developing Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Culture and Effectively Penetrating Moral Education

In order to implement the requirement of Minislry of Education, ＂further deepen the reform of moral education courses, and play a role in the classroom main channel＂, with literature analysis, case studies and other methods, we make an objective analysis of the real issues of ＂sports disciplines teaching moral education ＂. The results show that physical teachers should effectively improve the penetration ideology and moral education wisdom and teaching skills; they should grasp the connection between moral and discipline and integrate ＂moral goals＂ organically into a three-dimensional target subjects, and implemented it in accordance with the corresponding dimension specific content; in the implementation process, we should focus on using a variety of learning styles, making clever use of resources and make the best use; we need to persevere, to strengthen the sports discipline of moral norms infiltration operations, and better protect the effective penetration of Physical Education in Moral Education.

The present journal paper is the second of the three parts of a whole boxing practitioners physiology review. It is related to the boxing practice-derived systemic responses and adaptations. The first part of the review has dealt with kinanthropometric parameters, skeletal muscle recruitment and ergometry. The following and third part of the review is going to deal with dietary supplementation, weight control, recovery, altitude, faith, life expectancy, gender and childhood. Resultant linear acceleration of an instrumented head form does not differ between junior and collegiate taekwondo athletes' kicks

Objective： The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of various taekwondo kicks and age （school level） in absolute terms and relative body mass on the resultant linear acceleration （RLA） of an instrumented head form. Methods： Forty-eight male （middle school： 16; high school： 16; university： 16） taekwondo athletes were recruited for this study. Subjects performed 10 turning, 10 jump spinning hook, and 10 jump back kicks on a Hybrid II head mounted on a height-adjustable frame. Results： A 2-way （School x Kick） MANOVA was used to determine the differences in RLA between schools （age groups） by type of kick. There was no univariate School main effect for absolute RLA （η2 = 0.06） and RLA relative to body mass （η2 = 0.06）. No univariate Kick main effects were found for absolute （η2 = 0.06） and relative RLA （η2 = 0.06）. Conclusion： It is of concern that RLA did not significantly differ between school levels, implying that young taekwondo athletes generate similar forces to their adult counterparts, possibly exposing young athletes to an increased risk for head ir^iuries.

Aging Effects on Neuromuscular Activity in Karate Practitioners

Aging leads to a general decline in body functions that affects quality of life. Sports practice is recommended as a means to attenuate the impact of the aging process. The aim of this study was to identify and analyze the neuromuscular activity and its patterns on active karate practitioners and assess the effects of the aging process. Two groups of black belt male karate practitioners, one with nine practitioners over 50 years old and the other with 21 practitioners aged between 20-30 years old performed the frontal kick mae-geri. Kinematic and electromyographic data of five muscles were collected from the right leg. Results showed two distinct periods of muscular activation in the mae-geri performance, with similar muscles activity patterns between groups. Nevertheless, some differences were found in the muscles＇ activity onset and offset, in root mean square and in inter-muscle delay and co-contraction periods. Those differences indicated that aging affects the neuromuscular activity in the mae-geri performance of the oldest karate practitioners. Nevertheless, the results showed that lifelong practice of karate can preserve the quality of the neuromuscular activity in older practitioners when they perform a kick, and this could be associated with benefits to balance control.

Comparison on Cultural Connotation of Plant in Treasure Island and The Swordsman

In the development of human civilization, plant has been closely attached to human beings, and also been endowed with rich cultural imagery. However, ascribed to the differences between Chinese and English cultures, plant of the same kind exhibits similar, distinct or vacant characteristics. This paper adopts comparison method so as to compare and to analyze the differences and similarities of cultural connotation contained in plant emerging in Treasure Island （a representative of western adventure literature） and The Swordsman （a representative of Chinese martial arts literature） and roles plant plays in a certain chapter, or the whole story. The literature study presents a general knowledge of research theories in this field and cultural background. Moreover, the induction method integrates and summarizes the prior analyses and researches. Reasons underlying those cultural differences are also expounded, including legend and folklore, literature works and convention and custom. The conclusion is that analyzing the cultural connotation of plant is of significance for understanding the corresponding cultural differences as well as appreciating adventure and martial arts literature.
