MXene/Cellulose Composite Cloth for Integrated Functions(if‑Cloth)in Personal Heating and Steam Generation

Given the abundant solar light available on our planet,it is promising to develop an advanced fabric capable of simultaneously providing personal thermal management and facilitating clean water production in an energy-efficient manner.In this study,we present the fabrication of a photothermally active,biodegradable composite cloth composed of titanium carbide MXene and cellulose,achieved through an electrospinning method.This composite cloth exhibits favorable attributes,including chemical stability,mechanical performance,structural flexibility,and wettability.Notably,our 0.1-mm-thick composite cloth(RC/MXene IV)raises the temperature of simulated skin by 5.6℃when compared to a commercially available cotton cloth,which is five times thicker under identical ambient conditions.Remarkably,the composite cloth(RC/MXene V)demonstrates heightened solar light capture efficiency(87.7%)when in a wet state instead of a dry state.Consequently,this cloth functions exceptionally well as a high-performance steam generator,boasting a superior water evaporation rate of 1.34 kg m^(-2)h^(-1)under one-sun irradiation(equivalent to 1000 W m^(-2)).Moreover,it maintains its performance excellence in solar desali-nation processes.The multifunctionality of these cloths opens doors to a diverse array of outdoor applications,including solar-driven water evaporation and personal heating,thereby enriching the scope of integrated functionalities for textiles.

Effect of Cellulose Enzymes on Some Properties of Fibre Clothes

This study examined the effects of the enzyme cellulose on a few single jersey and interlock 100% flax t-shirts, two different styles of knit children’s clothes that differ in both their chemical and mechanical characteristics. Clothing samples were dyed using reactive colours and then subjected to normal acid cellulose enzyme treatment procedures. We evaluated some physical and mechanical features before and after cellulose treatments, then compared these characteristics. Its cellulose enzymatic processing enhances some mechanical properties of fibre knitwear, such as pilling resistance and retention of water. Some characteristics of fibre-knitted clothing, such as fabric weight, fabric thickness, fabric burst resistance, and seam tensile strength of T-shirt side seams, are reduced by cellulose enzyme treatment at a manageable rate. Compared to single-jersey all-fiber children’s T-shirts, interlocking 100% flax children’s T-shirts have a better effect of the enzyme cellulose treatment on the majority of physical and mechanical attributes.

Metric Learning for Semantic Metric Learning for Semantic⁃Based Clothes Retrieval

Existing clothes retrieval methods mostly adopt binary supervision in metric learning.For each iteration,only the clothes belonging to the same instance are positive samples,and all other clothes are“indistinguishable”negative samples,which causes the following problem.The relevance between the query and candidates is only treated as relevant or irrelevant,which makes the model difficult to learn the continu-ous semantic similarities between clothes.Clothes that do not belong to the same instance are completely considered irrelevant and are uni-formly pushed away from the query by an equal margin in the embedding space,which is not consistent with the ideal retrieval results.Moti-vated by this,we propose a novel method called semantic-based clothes retrieval(SCR).In SCR,we measure the semantic similarities be-tween clothes and design a new adaptive loss based on these similarities.The margin in the proposed adaptive loss can vary with different se-mantic similarities between the anchor and negative samples.In this way,more coherent embedding space can be learned,where candidates with higher semantic similarities are mapped closer to the query than those with lower ones.We use Recall@K and normalized Discounted Cu-mulative Gain(nDCG)as evaluation metrics to conduct experiments on the DeepFashion dataset and have achieved better performance.

CoS Nanosheets Coated with Dopamine-Derived Carbon Standing on Carbon Fiber Cloth as Binder-Free Anode for Li-ion Batteries

Cobalt sulphides attract much attention as anode materials for Li-ion batteries(LIBs).However,its poor conductivity,low initial column efficiency and large volume changes during cycling have hindered its further development.Herein,novel interlaced CoS nanosheets were firstly prepared on Carbon Fiber Cloth(CFC)by two hydrothermal reactions followed with carbon coating via carbonizing dopamine(CoS NS@C/CFC).As a freestanding anode,the nanosheet structure of CoS not only accommodates the volume variation,but also provides a large interface area to proceed the charge transfer reaction.In addition,CFC works as both a three-dimensional skeleton and an active substance which can further improve the areal capacity of the resulting electrode.Furthermore,the coated carbon combined with the CFC work as a 3D conductive network to facilitate the electron conduction.The obtained CoS NS@C/CFC,and the contrast sample prepared with the same procedure but without carbon coating(CoS NS/CFC),are characterized with XRD,SEM,TEM,XPS and electrochemical measurements.The results show that the CoS NS@C/CFC possesses much improved electrochemical performance due to the synergistic effect of nanosheet CoS,the coated carbon and the CFC substrate,exhibiting high initial columbic efficiency(~87%),high areal capacity(2.5 at 0.15 mA cm−2),excellent rate performance(1.6 at 2.73 mA cm−2)and improved cycle stability(87.5%capacity retention after 300 cycles).This work may provide a new route to explore freestanding anodes with high areal specific capacity for LIBs.
