The chirp sub-bottom profiler, for its high resolution, easy accessibility and cost-effectiveness,has been widely used in acoustic detection. In this paper, the acoustic impedance and grain size compositions were obtained based on the chirp sub-bottom profiler data collected in the Chukchi Plateau area during the 11th Arctic Expedition of China. The time-domain adaptive search matching algorithm was used and validated on our established theoretical model. The misfit between the inversion result and the theoretical model is less than 0.067%.The grain size was calculated according to the empirical relationship between the acoustic impedance and the grain size of the sediment. The average acoustic impedance of sub-seafloor strata is 2.5026×10^(6) kg(s m^(2))^(-1)and the average grain size(θvalue)of the seafloor surface sediment is 7.1498,indicating the predominant occurrence of very fine silt sediment in the study area.Comparison of the inversion results and the laboratory measurements of nearby borehole samples shows that they are in general agreement. 展开更多

As fractal image encoding algorithms can yield high-resolution reconstructed images at very high compression ratio, and therefore, have a great potential for improving the efficiency of image storage and image transmission. However, the baseline fractal encoding algorithm requires a great deal of time to complete the best matching search between the range and domain blocks, which greatly limits practical applications of the algorithm. In order to solve this problem, a necessary condition of the best matching search based on an image feature is proposed in this paper. The proposed method can reduce the search space significantly and excludes the most inappropriate domain blocks for each range block before carrying out the best matching search. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can produce good quality reconstructed images and requires much less time than the baseline encoding algorithm. Specifically, the new algorithm can speed up encoding by about 85 times with a loss of just 3 dB in the peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR), and yields compression ratios close to 34. 展开更多

Multi-angle synthetic aperture radar(SAR) image matching is very challenging, because the same object may cause different backscattering patterns, heavily depending on the radar incident angle. A technique based on the relations between the invariant positions of ground targets among the reference and sensed images is proposed to accommodate the nonmatching patterns. It involves a target extraction using wavelet coefficient fusion, as well as a geometric voting matching routine for searching the matched control points(CPs) in the reference and sensed images, respectively. To accelerate the speed of the search, a robust, rapidly corresponding CPs determination strategy is exploited by utilizing the global spatial transformation model, as well as a procedure of outlier removal to ensure the desired accuracy. Meanwhile, the positions of the matched point pairs are relocated using mutual information. The final warping of the images according to the CPs is performed by using a polynomial function. The results show the possibility of matching multi-angle SAR images in general cases. 展开更多
