The design concept is to introduce some auxiliary structures into conventional pe- riodic lattice materials. Elastic wave propagation in this kind of modified two-dimensional lattice materials is studied us- ing a combination of Bloch's theorem with finite element method. The calculated frequency band structures of illus- trative modified square lattice materials reveal the existence of frequency band gaps in the low frequency region due to the introduction of the auxiliary structures. The mechanism underlying the occurrence of these frequency band gaps is thoroughly discussed and natural resonances of the auxiliary structures are validated to be the origin. The effect of geo- metric parameters of the auxiliary structures on the width of the local resonance phononic band gaps is explored. Finally, a conceptual broadband vibration-insulating structure based on the modified lattice materials is designed and its capabil- ity is demonstrated. The present work is anticipated to be useful in designing structures which can insulate mechanical vibrations within desired frequency ranges.展开更多

Also, the boundary conditions at two ends of nano-composite rotating pressurized microbeam reinforced by CNTs are considered as simply supported. The governing equations are obtained based on the Hamilton's principle and then computed these equations by using Navier's solution. The magnetic field is inserted in the thickness direction of the nano-composite microbeam. The effects of various parameters such as angular velocity, temperature changes, and pressure between of the inside and outside, the magnetic field, material length scale parameter, and volume fraction of nanocomposite microbeam on the natural frequency and response systemare studied. The results show that with increasing volume fraction of nano-composite microbeam, thickness, material length scale parameter, and magnetic fields, the natural frequency increases. The results of this research can be used for optimization of micro-structures and manufacturing sensors, displacement fluid, and drug delivery.展开更多

In this work, a simple method to determine the amount of magnetic iron oxide nano- and microparticles attached to magnetically-modified partic- ulate diamagnetic materials has been developed using a commercially available magnetic permeability meter, The procedure is fast and enables dry particulate magnetically modified materials to be analysed without any modification or pretreatment. We show that the magnetic permeability can be measured for materials containing up to 20% magnetic iron oxide, The magnetic permeability measurements are highly reproducible.展开更多

The related trends of RM corresponding to the different hydration periods still cannot be concluded. Instead, It is found that the moisture content plays more major influence on the RM performance. Higher additional water during compaction of HCTCRB, even at its optimum moisture content and induced higher dry density, led to the inferior RM performance compared to the sample without water addition. The RM of damper samples can be improved through dryback process and superior to that of the sample without water addition at the same moisture content. However, the samples withut water addition during compaction deliver the comparable RM values even its dry density is lower than the other two types. These results indicate the significant influence of moisture content to the performances of HCTCRB with regardless of the dry density. Finally, the experimental results of HCT- CRB and parent material are evaluated with the K-O model and the model recommended by Austroads. These two models provide the excellent fit of the tested results with high degree of determination.展开更多

Firstly, transparent silane modified epoxy resins were produced through a controllable sol-gel method using γ-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propytrimethoxysilane and dimethyldiethoxylsilane. The features of the reaction were investigated and the products were characterized in detail. Subsequently, various curing agents were explored to prepare transparent silane modified epoxy resins. The silane modified epoxy resins cured by PEA-230 at a fairly low temperature(40 °C/2 h then 60 °C/1 h) exhibited excellent thermal stability with a thermal degradation temperature as high as 316.5 °C and adjustable hardness between 40-60 shore A. The application tests showed the materials obtained were good candidates for LED filament bulb package.展开更多
