The granitoids of the continental crust transformation series in South China may be divided into threetypes: (1) synorogenic migmatic and magmatic type. (2) anorogenic continental crust anatexis type, and (3)syncollision type. Based on the results of Sr and Nd isotopic determinations, the source material compositionof the three types of granitoids is calculated with crust-mantle binary mixing simulation. The calculations indi-cate that the granitoids of the first type consist of 78.6-89.7% upper crust endmember materials and15.0-10.3% depleted mantle endmember materials, the granitoids of the second type are composed of 63.7%upper crust endmember materials and 36.3% depleted mantle endmember materials, and those of the third type100% upper crust endmember materials. Hence. the source material composition of the granitoids of all thethree types is dominated by upper crust endmembers. 展开更多

The purpose of this study was to summarize the wide-range literatures on asphalt pavements, explore the evolution of road pavements, analyze typical asphalt pavement structures, highlight current trends in research and industry, and to recommend future areas of research and development. In this research, road pavement evolution was explored from the earliest roads to the modern pavements. A new method was recommended to categorize asphalt pavement materials into the three large families which may be further sub-divided according to their mechanical parameters. A unified asphalt pavement classification(UAPC) method was proposed and the worldwide asphalt pavements could be divided into six types through the new method. Based o n the UAPC method, 1087 asphalt pavement structures were classified and analyzed to explore the asphalt thickness variation. In order to evaluate asphalt pavement performance, the Chinese design specification was employed for analyzing lives of 29 high-volume pavements and 28 low-volume pavements. Through this research, it was found that:(1) in the past 100 years, asphalt pavement materials and structures had been becoming more and more strong;(2) asphalt layer thicknesses were various from 5 to 60 cm and the overall pavement thicknesses were various from 28 to 160 cm;(3) the long-life pavements in the other countries may become"shorter-life" pavements according to the prediction based on the Chinese specification. 展开更多

The absence of tactile perception limits the dexterity of a prosthetic hand and its acceptance by amputees.Recreating the sensing properties of the skin using a flexible tactile sensor could have profound implications for prosthetics, whereas existing tactile sensors often have limited functionality with cross-interference.In this study,we propose a machine-learning-assisted multifunctional tactile sensor for smart prosthetics, providing a human-like tactile sensing approach for amputations. This flexible sensor is based on a poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)-melamine sponge, which enables the detection of force and temperature with low cross-coupling owing to two separate sensing mechanisms:the open-circuit voltage of the sensor as a force-insensitive intrinsic variable to measure the absolute temperature and the resistance as a temperature-insensitive extrinsic variable to measure force.Furthermore,by analyzing the unsteady heat conduction and characterizing it using real-time thermal imaging,we demonstrated that the process of open-circuit voltage variation resulting from the unsteady heat conduction is closely correlated with the heatconducting capabilities of materials, which can be utilized to discriminate between substances.Assisted by the decision tree algorithm, the device is endowed with thermal conductivity sensing ability, which allows it to identify 10 types of substances with an accuracy of 94.7%.Furthermore,an individual wearing an advanced myoelectric prosthesis equipped with the above sensor can sense pressure, temperature, and recognize different materials. We demonstrated that our multifunctional tactile sensor provides a new strategy to help amputees feel force, temperature and identify the material of objects without the aid of vision. 展开更多
