View synthesis is an important building block in three dimension(3D) video processing and communications.Based on one or several views,view synthesis creates other views for the purpose of view prediction(for compr...View synthesis is an important building block in three dimension(3D) video processing and communications.Based on one or several views,view synthesis creates other views for the purpose of view prediction(for compression) or view rendering(for multiview-display).The quality of view synthesis depends on how one fills the occlusion area as well as how the pixels are created.Consequently,luminance adjustment and hole filling are two key issues in view synthesis.In this paper,two views are used to produce an arbitrary virtual synthesized view.One view is merged into another view using a local luminance adjustment method,based on local neighborhood region for the calculation of adjustment coefficient.Moreover,a maximum neighborhood spreading strength hole filling method is presented to deal with the micro texture structure when the hole is being filled.For each pixel at the hole boundary,its neighborhood pixels with the maximum spreading strength direction are selected as candidates;and among them,the pixel with the maximum spreading strength is used to fill the hole from boundary to center.If there still exist disocclusion pixels after once scan,the filling process is repeated until all hole pixels are filled.Simulation results show that the proposed method is efficient,robust and achieves high performance in subjection and objection.展开更多
A droplet undergoes spreading,rebounding or splashing when it impacts solid boundary,which is a typical phenomenon of free surface flow that exists widely in modern industry.Smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)method ...A droplet undergoes spreading,rebounding or splashing when it impacts solid boundary,which is a typical phenomenon of free surface flow that exists widely in modern industry.Smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)method is applied to numerically study the dynamical behaviors of the droplet impacting solid boundary,and both the spreading and rebounding phenomena of the droplet are reproduced in the simulation.The droplet deformation,flow fields and pressure fields inside the droplet at different moments are analyzed.Two important factors,the initial velocity and diameter,are discussed in determining the maximum spreading factor,revealing that the maximum spreading factor increases with the increase of the impact velocity and droplet diameter respectively.展开更多

The role of the GI parameter period...This letter presents the principles of Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) system and focuses on the effect of the Guard Interval (GI) on the systemperformance. The role of the GI parameter period to solve the problem of interferences that occur at the receiver is discussed. A new COFDM concept with a Variable GI (VGI) is proposed in order to improve the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance in the presence of multipaths with variable delays. A series of simulations have been carried out on the BER performance as a function of GI, maximum delay spread, and Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), with QPSK as modulation scheme over multipath fading and Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN). The results show that the optimum values of the GI parameter approximately equal to the maximum delay spread, and the proposed system with VGI provides a better performance compared with the fixed length GI.展开更多
