Background Cotton is a strategically important fibre crop for global textile industry.It profoundly impacts several countries’industrial and agricultural sectors.Sustainable cotton production is continuously threaten...Background Cotton is a strategically important fibre crop for global textile industry.It profoundly impacts several countries’industrial and agricultural sectors.Sustainable cotton production is continuously threatened by the unpre-dictable changes in climate,specifically high temperatures.Breeding heat-tolerant,high-yielding cotton cultivars with wide adaptability to be grown in the regions with rising temperatures is one of the primary objectives of modern cotton breeding programmes.Therefore,the main objective of the current study is to figure out the effective breed-ing approach to imparting heat tolerance as well as the judicious utilization of commercially significant and stress-tolerant attributes in cotton breeding.Initially,the two most notable heat-susceptible(FH-115 and NIAB Kiran)and tolerant(IUB-13 and GH-Mubarak)cotton cultivars were spotted to develop filial and backcross populations to accom-plish the preceding study objectives.The heat tolerant cultivars were screened on the basis of various morphological(seed cotton yield per plant,ginning turnout percentage),physiological(pollen viability,cell membrane thermostabil-ity)and biochemical(peroxidase activity,proline content,hydrogen peroxide content)parameters.Results The results clearly exhibited that heat stress consequently had a detrimental impact on every studied plant trait,as revealed by the ability of crossing and their backcross populations to tolerate high temperatures.However,when considering overall yield,biochemical,and physiological traits,the IUB-13×FH-115 cross went over particularly well at both normal and high temperature conditions.Moreover,overall seed cotton yield per plant exhibited a posi-tive correlation with both pollen viability and antioxidant levels(POD activity and proline content).Conclusions Selection from segregation population and criteria involving pollen viability and antioxidant levels concluded to be an effective strategy for the screening of heat-tolerant cotton germplasms.Therefore,understanding acquired from this study can assist breeders identifying traits that should be prioritized in order to develop climate resilient cotton cultivars.展开更多

The main conclusions are as follows: 1) Total anthropogenic carbon emission of Nanjing increased from 1.22928 ×10^7 t in 2000 to 3.06939 × 10^7 t in 2009, in which the carbon emission of Inhabitation, mining & manufacturing land accounted for 93% of the total. 2) The average land use carbon emission intensity of Nanjing in 2009 was 46.63 t/ha, in which carbon emission intensity of Inhabitation, mining & manufacturing land was the highest(200.52 t/ha), which was much higher than that of other land use types. 3) The average carbon source intensity in Nanjing was 16 times of the average carbon sink intensity(2.83 t/ha) in 2009, indicating that Nanjing was confronted with serious carbon deficit and huge carbon cycle pressure. 4) Land use area per unit GDP was an inhibitory factor for the increase of carbon emissions, while the other factors were all contributing factors. 5) Carbon emission effect evaluation should be introduced into land use activities to formulate low-carbon land use strategies in regional development.展开更多

The case study we analyzed is the adoption of open organization model among firms operating in a ...The objective of this research is to show a new methodology for modeling phenomena present in complex economic systems. The case study we analyzed is the adoption of open organization model among firms operating in a particular industry. A firm with an open system model creates and captures value taking advantage not only from the internal resource but also from external. The organization could approach to open model acquisition using different focus: external focus namely looking out of its boundary, acting and reacting to competitor innovation, costumers' changing, demand growth, or internal focus remaining inside its boundary improving its best capabilities ignoring what happened outside (Vagnani, Moran, & Simoni, 2010). The actors involved are firms, customers and suppliers linked together through a business to business model. The methodology is based on an Object-Oriented Analysis Field Model that allows to intuitively describe systems characterized by a large number of objects that interact, as in this case of a system composed by different organizational entities. The system simulation allows to analyze how the actors influence the acquisition and diffusion of the open organization model. This approach permits the generation of different classes of objects to represent all actors involved in the evolution of the system and to define the dynamics that determine their interaction. The solution of the model can be approximated using the Mean-Field analysis technique (Kurtz, 1978), following the results proposed in Bobbio, Gribaudo, and Yelek (2008). A qualitative result is illustrated in order to show the applicability of the proposed methodology and to emphasize its relevant features: flexible modeling approach, capacity of solving complex systems and output management facilities. The presented model is comprehensive and its scope is wide; it could be used to study the behavior of enterprises changing model in many different scenarios and situations. In future works quantitative results will be given, and different situations will be analyzed.展开更多
With the vigorous expansion of nonlinear adaptive filtering with real-valued kernel functions,its counterpart complex kernel adaptive filtering algorithms were also sequentially proposed to solve the complex-valued no...With the vigorous expansion of nonlinear adaptive filtering with real-valued kernel functions,its counterpart complex kernel adaptive filtering algorithms were also sequentially proposed to solve the complex-valued nonlinear problems arising in almost all real-world applications.This paper firstly presents two schemes of the complex Gaussian kernel-based adaptive filtering algorithms to illustrate their respective characteristics.Then the theoretical convergence behavior of the complex Gaussian kernel least mean square(LMS) algorithm is studied by using the fixed dictionary strategy.The simulation results demonstrate that the theoretical curves predicted by the derived analytical models consistently coincide with the Monte Carlo simulation results in both transient and steady-state stages for two introduced complex Gaussian kernel LMS algonthms using non-circular complex data.The analytical models are able to be regard as a theoretical tool evaluating ability and allow to compare with mean square error(MSE) performance among of complex kernel LMS(KLMS) methods according to the specified kernel bandwidth and the length of dictionary.展开更多

The influence of four importa...To gain a deep insight into the hot drawing process of aluminum alloy sheet, simulations of cylindrical cup drawing at elevated temperatures were carried out with experimental validation. The influence of four important process parameters, namely,punch velocity, blank holder force(BHF), friction coefficient and initial forming temperature of blank on drawing characteristics(i.e.minimum thickness and thickness deviation) was investigated with the help of design of experiments(DOE), analysis of variance(ANOVA) and analysis of mean(ANOM). Based on the results of ANOVA, it is shown that the blank holder force has the greatest influence on minimum thickness. The importance of punch velocity for thickness deviation is 44.35% followed by BHF of 24.88%,friction coefficient of 15.77% and initial forming temperature of blank of 14.995%. After determining the significance of each factor on forming characteristics, how the individual parameter affects characteristics was further analyzed by ANOM.展开更多

The results showed that the three types of carrying capacity in most cities of Shaanxi Province are shown as follows: ecological carrying capacity > living carrying capacity > production carrying capacity,and the differences between various regions in a single type of carrying capacity basically accorded with the actual situation of development in each city; there were obvious differences between various cities in the comprehensive carrying capacity of land resources,which was basically consistent with regional economic and social development.展开更多

The ASEP shows a range of no...As one of the paradigmatic models of non-equilibrium systems, the asymmetric simple exclusion process(ASEP) has been widely used to study many physical, chemical, and biological systems. The ASEP shows a range of nontrivial macroscopic phenomena, among which, the spontaneous symmetry breaking has gained a great deal of attention. Nevertheless,as a basic problem, it has been controversial whether there exist one or two symmetry-broken phases in the ASEP. Based on the mean field analysis and current minimization principle, this paper demonstrates that one of the broken-symmetry phases does not exist in a bidirectional two-lane ASEP with narrow entrances. Moreover, an exponential decay feature is observed,which has been used to predict the phase boundary in the thermodynamic limit. Our findings might be generalized to other ASEP models and thus deepen the understanding of the spontaneous symmetry breaking in non-equilibrium systems.展开更多
Drought stress(DS)is one of the most critical environmental abiotic stresses for wheat production in the arid environments.Selection of high-yielding genotypes tolerant to DS can play a significant role in mitigation ...Drought stress(DS)is one of the most critical environmental abiotic stresses for wheat production in the arid environments.Selection of high-yielding genotypes tolerant to DS can play a significant role in mitigation the negative impacts associated with DS.In the present study,generation means analysis(GMA)was used to study the performance of two crosses under well irrigation(WI)and deficit irrigation[cross I(Line 44×Shandweel-1)and cross II(Line 20×Sakha 93)].Significant differences were observed for days to heading(DH),days to maturity(DM),plant height(PH),spike length(SL),number of spikes per plant(NS/P),number of grains per spike(NG/S),thousand-grain weight(TGW),grain yield per plant(GY/P),and proline content(PC)in the six populations of the two crosses within each irrigation level.Cross II had early maturity and the highest PC,NS/P,TGW,and GY/P regardless of the irrigation level.Cross I showed positive significant relative heterosis and heterobeltiosis for GY/P under the two irrigation levels.The inheritance of characters of cross I revealed additive,dominant,and epistatic effects,which varied with trait and stress.Additive genetic effects predominated in DH,SL,and PC,while non-additive were found in DM,NS/P,NG/S,and GY/P.Narrow-sense heritability estimates(h^(2) n)were high for DH and PC,moderate to high for PH and SL,moderate for DM,NG/S,NS/P,and TGW,and low for GY/P.Based on different drought indices the populations BC_(1),BC_(2),F_(1),and P1 of cross II and BC1 of cross I were more tolerant to drought stress.Therefore,PC,TGW and DH can be used as selection indicators to improve wheat for drought tolerance in early generations and other yield components traits in late generations.The second cross(Line 20×Sakha 93)shows promise and is of interest to a drought tolerance breeding program,where wheat breeders can use recombinant breeding strategies to construct desirable drought stress genes.Correlation and path coefficient revealed that TGW and PC were the main contributor in grain yield in both environments.展开更多

The introduction of constraints on short selling significantly reduces these benefits. Investors from the European leading countries would have greatly benefitted from a Eurozone portfolio diversification strategy. The advantages of diversification appear to change significantly over time and from country to country. Terrain plays a key role in landscape pattern formation, particularly in the transition zones from mountains to plains.Exploring the relationships between terrain characteristics and landscape types in terrain-complex...Terrain plays a key role in landscape pattern formation, particularly in the transition zones from mountains to plains.Exploring the relationships between terrain characteristics and landscape types in terrain-complex areas can help reveal the mechanisms underlying the relationships. In this study, Qihe River Basin, situated in the transition zone from the Taihang Mountains to the North-China Plain, was selected as a case study area. First, the spatial variations in the relief amplitudes(i.e.,high-amplitude terrain undulations) were analyzed. Second, the effects of relief amplitudes on the landscape patterns were indepth investigated from the perspectives of both landscape types and landscape indices. Finally, a logistic regression model was employed to examine the relationships between the landscape patterns and the influencing factors(natural and human) at different relief amplitudes. The results show that with increasing relief amplitude, anthropogenic landscapes gradually give in to natral landscapes. Specifically, human factors normally dominate the gentle areas(e.g., flat areas) in influencing the distribution of landscape types, and natural factors normally dominate the highly-undulating areas(e.g., moderate relief areas). As for the intermediately undulating areas(i.e.,medium relief amplitudes), a combined influence of natural and human factors result in the highest varieties of landscape types. The results also show that in micro-relief areas and small relief areas where natural factors and human factors are more or less equally active,landscape types are affected by a combination of natural and human factors.The combination leads to a high fragmentation and a high diversity of landscape patterns. It seems that appropriate human interferences in these areas can be conducive to enhancing landscape diversity and that inappropriate human interferences can aggravate the problems of landscape fragmentation.展开更多

文摘Drought stress(DS)is one of the most critical environmental abiotic stresses for wheat production in the arid environments.Selection of high-yielding genotypes tolerant to DS can play a significant role in mitigation the negative impacts associated with DS.In the present study,generation means analysis(GMA)was used to study the performance of two crosses under well irrigation(WI)and deficit irrigation[cross I(Line 44×Shandweel-1)and cross II(Line 20×Sakha 93)].Significant differences were observed for days to heading(DH),days to maturity(DM),plant height(PH),spike length(SL),number of spikes per plant(NS/P),number of grains per spike(NG/S),thousand-grain weight(TGW),grain yield per plant(GY/P),and proline content(PC)in the six populations of the two crosses within each irrigation level.Cross II had early maturity and the highest PC,NS/P,TGW,and GY/P regardless of the irrigation level.Cross I showed positive significant relative heterosis and heterobeltiosis for GY/P under the two irrigation levels.The inheritance of characters of cross I revealed additive,dominant,and epistatic effects,which varied with trait and stress.Additive genetic effects predominated in DH,SL,and PC,while non-additive were found in DM,NS/P,NG/S,and GY/P.Narrow-sense heritability estimates(h^(2) n)were high for DH and PC,moderate to high for PH and SL,moderate for DM,NG/S,NS/P,and TGW,and low for GY/P.Based on different drought indices the populations BC_(1),BC_(2),F_(1),and P1 of cross II and BC1 of cross I were more tolerant to drought stress.Therefore,PC,TGW and DH can be used as selection indicators to improve wheat for drought tolerance in early generations and other yield components traits in late generations.The second cross(Line 20×Sakha 93)shows promise and is of interest to a drought tolerance breeding program,where wheat breeders can use recombinant breeding strategies to construct desirable drought stress genes.Correlation and path coefficient revealed that TGW and PC were the main contributor in grain yield in both environments.
文摘Presents a fast and effective method proposed by combining the fuzzy C means (FCM) and the fuzzy neural network for solving robot inverse kinematics, and its successful application to the robot inverse kinematics and concludes from simulation results that this new method not only has high efficiency and accuracy, but also good generalization, and it also overcomes the "dimension disaster" of fuzzy set in a fuzzy neural network fairly well.
文摘The paper aims at verifying if there still are advantages in diversification inside the Eurozone despite the economic and monetary unification process. The results show unambiguously that notwithstanding the high degree of correlation between the Eurozone stock markets, opportunities for diversification still exist. The introduction of constraints on short selling significantly reduces these benefits. Investors from the European leading countries would have greatly benefitted from a Eurozone portfolio diversification strategy. The advantages of diversification appear to change significantly over time and from country to country. The results are also conclusive in reflecting the instability of the historical mean-variance data.

文摘The evolution of the society and economy has stimulated the development of Knowledge Service(KS), making it an indispensable solution to address future challenges facing libraries and information institutions. However at present, academic research on knowledge service is falling short and its definition is far from clear and complete. As such,this article proposes the Three-dimensional Framework Knowledge Service(TdFKS) for libraries and information institutions based on the knowledge value chain model. By making reliability analysis and mean value analysis of a questionnaire survey result, the article clarifies the structure of the three-dimensional framework and verifies the rationality of the TdFKS.

文摘Terrain plays a key role in landscape pattern formation, particularly in the transition zones from mountains to plains.Exploring the relationships between terrain characteristics and landscape types in terrain-complex areas can help reveal the mechanisms underlying the relationships. In this study, Qihe River Basin, situated in the transition zone from the Taihang Mountains to the North-China Plain, was selected as a case study area. First, the spatial variations in the relief amplitudes(i.e.,high-amplitude terrain undulations) were analyzed. Second, the effects of relief amplitudes on the landscape patterns were indepth investigated from the perspectives of both landscape types and landscape indices. Finally, a logistic regression model was employed to examine the relationships between the landscape patterns and the influencing factors(natural and human) at different relief amplitudes. The results show that with increasing relief amplitude, anthropogenic landscapes gradually give in to natral landscapes. Specifically, human factors normally dominate the gentle areas(e.g., flat areas) in influencing the distribution of landscape types, and natural factors normally dominate the highly-undulating areas(e.g., moderate relief areas). As for the intermediately undulating areas(i.e.,medium relief amplitudes), a combined influence of natural and human factors result in the highest varieties of landscape types. The results also show that in micro-relief areas and small relief areas where natural factors and human factors are more or less equally active,landscape types are affected by a combination of natural and human factors.The combination leads to a high fragmentation and a high diversity of landscape patterns. It seems that appropriate human interferences in these areas can be conducive to enhancing landscape diversity and that inappropriate human interferences can aggravate the problems of landscape fragmentation.
