Current studies mainly focus on radial clearance of revolute joints, while axial clearance has rarely been taken into consideration. In fact, own?ing to errors from machining and assembly, thermal deformation and so forth, practically, axial clearance is inevitable in the joint. In this study, an error equivalent model(EEM) of revolute joints is proposed with considering both radial and axial clearances. Compared to the planar model of revolute joints only considering radial clearance, the journal motion inside the bearing is more abundant and matches the reality better in the EEM. The model is also extended for analyzing the error distribution of a spatial dual?axis("X–Y" type) antenna pointing mechanism of Spot?beam antennas which especially demand a high pointing accuracy. Three case studies are performed which illustrates the internal relation between radial clearance and axial clearance. It is found that when the axial clearance is big enough, the physical journal can freely realize both translational motion and rotational motion. While if the axial clearance is limited, the motion of the physical journal will be restricted. Analysis results indicate that the consideration of both radial and axial clearances in the revolute joint describes the journal motion inside the bearing more precise. To further validate the proposed model, a model of the EEM is designed and fabricated. Some suggestions on the design of revolute joints are also provided.展开更多

The normal and tangential forces acting on the contact points between the journal and the bearing are described by using a Hertzian-based contact force model and the Coulomb friction models, respectively.The dynamic equations of the mechanism are derived based on the Lagrange equations of the first kind and the Baumgarte stabilization method. The frictional force is solved via the linear complementarity problem(LCP) algorithm and the trial-and-error algorithm.Finally, three numerical examples are given to show the influence of the two Coulomb friction models on the dynamic behavior of the mechanism. Numerical results show that due to the stick friction, the slider-crank mechanism may exhibit stick-slip motion and can balance at some special positions, while the mechanism with ideal joints cannot.展开更多

At present, many researches are mainly focused on dynamics of plane revolute joint in plane mechanism, but few on dynamics of spatial spherical joint clearance in spatial parallel mechanism. In this paper, a general method is proposed for establishing dynamic equations of spatial parallel mechanism with spatial spherical clearance by Lagrange multiplier method. The kinematic model and contact force model of the spherical joint clearance were established successively. Lagrange multiplier method was used to deduce the dynamics equation of 4 UPS-UPU mechanism with spherical clearance joint systematically. The influence of friction coefficient on dynamics response of 4 UPS-UPU mechanism with spherical clearance joint was analyzed. Non-linear characteristics of clearance joint and moving platform were analyzed by Poincare map, phase diagram, and bifurcation diagram. The results show that variation of friction coefficient and clearance value had little effect on stability of the mechanism, but the chaotic phenomenon was found at spherical clearance joint. The research has theoretical guiding significance for improving the dynamic performance and avoiding of chaos of parallel mechanisms including spherical joint clearance.展开更多

In order to further analyze the influence of clearance on the kinematic performance of spatial linkage weft insertion mechanism,it is necessary to study the dynamic characteristics of contact impact force model with t...In order to further analyze the influence of clearance on the kinematic performance of spatial linkage weft insertion mechanism,it is necessary to study the dynamic characteristics of contact impact force model with the variable stiffness and damping coefficient.Firstly,the parameters in the output process of the system are solved by describing of the flexible joint clearance.Then,based on Lankarani-Nikravesh contact force model,the contact impact stiffness and damping coefficient is modified from fixed values to time-varying coefficients.The dynamic model of spatial linkage weft insertion mechanism with modified clearance is established by Lagrange method,and the dynamic characteristics of the system are calculated.The results show that the joint clearance can directly affect the output performance of the mechanism.With the increase of the clearance value,the curve fluctuations of acceleration,driving torque and collision force are obvious,and it will be further intensified with the increase of spindle speed,which greatly affects the stability of mechanism and fabric quality.Finally,the virtual prototype is established by the SolidWorks software and simulated by the ADAMS software.The simulation results are compared with the numerical results,which verifies the accuracy of the modeling method in this paper.展开更多

Owing...The Three Gorges Project(TGP) ship lift employs 4 safety mechanisms, of which one consists of a rotary locking screw and a nut jaw column. The thread pair clearance(TPC) of safety mechanisms is set at 60 mm. Owing to influential factors,the TPC changes randomly in the upward/downward-stroke of the ship chamber. If it diminished to 0, the safety mechanism would be jammed, thus resulting in disastrous accidents. By the bearing test of the drive system, 7 influential factors have been studied; 15 other influential factors(including 8 factors of manufacture and installation deviation, 3 factors of chamber offset, 2 factors of external load and 2 factors of wear) have been analyzed based on the design data. Results by the limit superposition reveal that the TPC change varies from -43.8 mm to +48.4 mm when the water level of the chamber ranges from 3.4 m to 3.6 m. According to the Gaussian distribution, the probability of the TPC change varied from -53.7 mm to +58.8 mm in the most detrimental status is99.74%, therefore, the TPC remains in a safe condition. This paper puts forward that two-phase operation of the drive system should be adopted so as to reduce the maximum TPC change to -44.6 mm.展开更多

In thc same time, the nonlinear terms sue as coupling terms between thc rigid body motion and elastic deformation arc included. New member’s spline models are established. Mass matrix, Coriolis mass matrix, normal and tangential mass matrix, linear stiffness matrix, nonlinear stiffness matrix and rotation matrix arc derived. The kinematic differential equations of a member and system are deduced in the end. The planetary roller screw mechanism(PRSM)is a novel precision transmission mechanism that realizes the conversion between linear and rotary motions.The contact characteristics of helical surfaces directly determine P...The planetary roller screw mechanism(PRSM)is a novel precision transmission mechanism that realizes the conversion between linear and rotary motions.The contact characteristics of helical surfaces directly determine PRSM’s performance in load-carrying capacity and transmission accuracy.Therefore,studying the contact characteristics of PRSM forms the fundamental basis for enhancing its transmission performance.In this study,a three-dimensional parametric analysis method of contact characteristics is proposed based on the PRSM meshing principle and PyVista(a high-level API to the Visualization Toolkit).The proposed method considers the influence of machining errors among various thread teeth.The effects of key machining errors on contact positions and axial clearance,as well as their sensitivities,are analyzed.With excellent solution accuracy,this method exhibits higher calculation efficiency and stronger robustness than the analytical and numerical meshing models.The influence of nominal diameter and pitch errors of the screw,roller,and nut on the axial clearance follows a linear relationship,whereas flank angle errors have negligible effects on the axial clearance.The corresponding influence coefficients for these three machining errors on the axial clearance are 0.623,0.341,and 0.036.The variations in contact positions caused by individual errors are axisymmetric.Flank angle errors and roller diameter errors result in linear displacements of the contact points,whereas pitch errors cause the contact points to move along the arc of the roller diameter.Based on the proposed threedimensional parametric contact characteristics analysis method,the Fuzzy C-Means clustering algorithm considering error sensitivity is utilized to establish a component grouping technique in the selective assembly of critical PRSM components,ensuring the rational and consistent clearances based on the given component’s machining errors.This study provides effective guidance for analyzing contact characteristics and grouping in selective assembly for PRSM components.It also presents the proposed method’s potential applicability to similar calculation problems for contact positions and clearances in other transmission systems.展开更多

The deployable telescopic boom,whose mass and stiffness play crucial roles,is extensively used in the design of space-deployable structures.However,the most existing optimal design that neglects the influence of the l...The deployable telescopic boom,whose mass and stiffness play crucial roles,is extensively used in the design of space-deployable structures.However,the most existing optimal design that neglects the influence of the locking mechanisms in boom joints cannot raise the whole stiffness while reducing the boom mass.To tackle this challenge,a novel optimization model,which utilizes the arrangement of the locking mechanisms to achieve synchronous improvement of the stiffness and mass,is proposed.The proposed optimization model incorporates a novel joint stiffness model developed based on an equivalent parallel mechanism that enables the consideration of multiple internal stiffness factors of the locking mechanisms and tubes,resulting in more accurate representations of the joint stiffness behavior.Comparative analysis shows that the proposed stiffness model achieves more than at least 11% improved accuracy compared with existing models.Furthermore,case verification shows that the proposed optimization model can improve stiffness while effectively reducing mass,and it is applied in boom optimization design.展开更多

文摘For the four-bar beating-up mechanism of air-jet loom,the plain bearing of linkage is the bearing with dynamic load,and is immersed in the lubricant-box.If the joint clearance is considered,the research on linkage movement could be very complicated.In this paper,the kinematic characteristics of four-bar beating-up mechanism with joint clearance were studied by analyzing the trace of journal center and the balance of radial,tangential forces,and bearing load.The region of principal vibration and its forming causes were discussed.And the results could interpret the measuring curves of four-bar beating-up mechanism completely.

文摘Clearance between the moving joints is unavoidable in real working process. At present, many researches are mainly focused on dynamics of plane revolute joint in plane mechanism, but few on dynamics of spatial spherical joint clearance in spatial parallel mechanism. In this paper, a general method is proposed for establishing dynamic equations of spatial parallel mechanism with spatial spherical clearance by Lagrange multiplier method. The kinematic model and contact force model of the spherical joint clearance were established successively. Lagrange multiplier method was used to deduce the dynamics equation of 4 UPS-UPU mechanism with spherical clearance joint systematically. The influence of friction coefficient on dynamics response of 4 UPS-UPU mechanism with spherical clearance joint was analyzed. Non-linear characteristics of clearance joint and moving platform were analyzed by Poincare map, phase diagram, and bifurcation diagram. The results show that variation of friction coefficient and clearance value had little effect on stability of the mechanism, but the chaotic phenomenon was found at spherical clearance joint. The research has theoretical guiding significance for improving the dynamic performance and avoiding of chaos of parallel mechanisms including spherical joint clearance.

文摘Joint clearance,as an important stochastic factor,can significantly deteriorate positioning and repeatability accuracies and lower assembly quality of a 6-DOF docking mechanism.Considering pose accuracy with traditional error model that possesses inherent imprecision,both probabilistic and deterministic approaches based on forward kinematics are presented to analyze comprehensive pose error(CPE)in simulation.Results indicate an identical trend emerges for each CPE with both approaches,and both CPEs perform opposite variations as the moving platform upgrades.The findings provide theoretical reference for refinement of assembly quality evaluation of this mechanism.

文摘There are clearances in mechanism because of manufacture and assembly error,which reduces operation life and working accuracy of mechanism and has a great impact on dynamical responses.At the moment,research in this area mainly focuses on single degree⁃of⁃freedom mechanism considering one clearance,while research of multi⁃DOF mechanism considering multi⁃clearance is less.With the purpose of studying the dynamical characteristics of complex multi⁃DOF mechanism with multi⁃clearances,a dynamic model was developed.The dynamic responses of 2⁃DOF mechanism with two clearances under different positions,values,and numbers of clearance were analyzed.The displacement,velocity,acceleration,collision force,and the axis trajectory at clearance were then given.In addition,there is a limited amount of literature on chaotic phenomena,which mainly focuses on the chaotic phenomena of end⁃effector of mechanism.But in this paper,the non⁃linear characteristics were analyzed by chaotic phenomenon of clearance joint,then chaotic phenomenon was identified by Poincarémappings and phase diagrams.Bifurcation diagrams were given.The results will offer a reliable technical support for the study of dynamical responses of planar mechanisms and the analysis of chaotic phenomena.

文摘A 3D model of the spatial four-bar weft insertion mechanism was built with unigraphics NX(UG) according to the actual requirement,and dynamics simulation was carried out by importing the model into ADAMS.Without considering the clearance,the motion characteristic curve of the sword belt was generated through ADAMS combined with MATLAB.In this paper the hinge between the rod and the sector gear was selected as an example with different values of clearance,outputting the motion characteristic curve of the sword belt.Finite element analysis(FEA)was conducted,the flexible body was generated by importing the forked frame into ANSYS,and flexible dynamics simulation was carried out by importing the flexible body into ADAMS to replace the rigid rod.A comprehensive comparison of the output characteristics of the sword belt was conducted in the consideration of the clearance or flexible.Analysis of the force on the left hinge of the rod was carried out with the ADAMS post processing module.With the same clearance,considering the flexibility,amplitude of fluctuation of the force on the hinge increased obviously.
文摘The sliding motion refers to the case when the pin of a revolute joint is in contact with the bush, following all or a segment of the circular trajectory inside the bearing. The equation of the sliding motion is obtained based on Lagrangian approach. By use of the classical continuation method, the stationary points can be calculated, and their local stability is determined with the theory of stability. This paper focuses its analysis on the joint connecting the rocker of a four bar mechanism to the ground. The results show that there are some relations between the local stability of sliding motion and contact loss

文摘The deployable mechanisms consisting of square units are widely applied in aeronautics and astronautics,biomedicine, architecture and other fields, and joint clearance in such a mechanism is unavoidable. This study is carried out to accurately investigate the dynamic property of the mechanism.Firstly,a dynamics model was built by considering the motion characteristics between elements of joint with clearances. Secondly,based on Floures contact force model and LuGre friction force model,the tangential and normal contact force of revolute pair element with clearance were calculated respectively. Finally,square combined mechanisms' dynamic analytical method considering joint clearance was investigated, and constraint renege problem was resolved by adopting Baumgarte stable constraint method in integration process.Analytical result indicates that the impact of joint clearance on dynamic property of square combined mechanism should not be neglected.

文摘Contact force in a clearance joint affects the dynamic characteristics and leads to nonlinear response of the mechanism.It is necessary to assess the nonlinearity of contact force quantitatively.Therefore,a new method named contact-force entropy weight is proposed in this paper.This method presents a comprehensive description of the judgment matrix in the X,Y,and Z directions.To assess the influence degrees of different clearances and angular velocities on the contact force,the method is applied to numerical calculation and simulation of a six-bar mechanism with a clearance joint to illustrate its application and investigate the influence degree of angular velocity and clearance on the contact force.By combining the simulation results and theoretical calculations,the influence degrees of different clearances and angular velocities on the contact-force entropy weight of the six-bar mechanism with a clearance joint are revealed.It is found that the angular velocity has a significant influence on the contact force entropy weight of the clearance joint,showing that the contact-force entropy weight is a feasible new method of assessing non-linearity of contact force quantitatively.The method gives a theoretical reference for quantitatively analyzing the nonlinear dynamics.

文摘In order to further analyze the influence of clearance on the kinematic performance of spatial linkage weft insertion mechanism,it is necessary to study the dynamic characteristics of contact impact force model with the variable stiffness and damping coefficient.Firstly,the parameters in the output process of the system are solved by describing of the flexible joint clearance.Then,based on Lankarani-Nikravesh contact force model,the contact impact stiffness and damping coefficient is modified from fixed values to time-varying coefficients.The dynamic model of spatial linkage weft insertion mechanism with modified clearance is established by Lagrange method,and the dynamic characteristics of the system are calculated.The results show that the joint clearance can directly affect the output performance of the mechanism.With the increase of the clearance value,the curve fluctuations of acceleration,driving torque and collision force are obvious,and it will be further intensified with the increase of spindle speed,which greatly affects the stability of mechanism and fabric quality.Finally,the virtual prototype is established by the SolidWorks software and simulated by the ADAMS software.The simulation results are compared with the numerical results,which verifies the accuracy of the modeling method in this paper.

文摘The Three Gorges Project(TGP) ship lift employs 4 safety mechanisms, of which one consists of a rotary locking screw and a nut jaw column. The thread pair clearance(TPC) of safety mechanisms is set at 60 mm. Owing to influential factors,the TPC changes randomly in the upward/downward-stroke of the ship chamber. If it diminished to 0, the safety mechanism would be jammed, thus resulting in disastrous accidents. By the bearing test of the drive system, 7 influential factors have been studied; 15 other influential factors(including 8 factors of manufacture and installation deviation, 3 factors of chamber offset, 2 factors of external load and 2 factors of wear) have been analyzed based on the design data. Results by the limit superposition reveal that the TPC change varies from -43.8 mm to +48.4 mm when the water level of the chamber ranges from 3.4 m to 3.6 m. According to the Gaussian distribution, the probability of the TPC change varied from -53.7 mm to +58.8 mm in the most detrimental status is99.74%, therefore, the TPC remains in a safe condition. This paper puts forward that two-phase operation of the drive system should be adopted so as to reduce the maximum TPC change to -44.6 mm.
文摘The dynamic responses of roller gear indexing cam mechanism are investigated .With applying Lagarange equation and Gear method,motion equations of this mechanism including clearance,motor characteristic,torsion flexibility are developed and solved.The results show that clearance affects primarily the response on turret,and has little effects on the responses on rotary table.At the same time,the velocity fluctuation of motor shaft is not serious for the existence of inertia of reducer,and the high frequency of velocity fluctuation of camshaft is related with the torsion stiffness of shaft and the clearance between pairs.
文摘This paper relates to the deep research on the Splinc Model Method of KED analysis. With the use of cubic B-splinc function as a link’s transverse deflection interpolation function, the principle of virtual displacement is presented as a basic theory for the general formulation of the equations of motion, and thus abandoned the kinematic assumption and the instantaneous structure assumption which arc used in the Spline Model Method. In thc same time, the nonlinear terms sue as coupling terms between thc rigid body motion and elastic deformation arc included. New member’s spline models are established. Mass matrix, Coriolis mass matrix, normal and tangential mass matrix, linear stiffness matrix, nonlinear stiffness matrix and rotation matrix arc derived. The kinematic differential equations of a member and system are deduced in the end. The Newmark direct integration method is used as the solution scheme of the kinematic differential equations to get the periodic response.

文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-Cov-2)is still threatening the human life and society throughout the world.For those critically ill patients,mechanical ventilation(MV)is essential to provide life support during treatment.However,both the virus infection and MV disrupt the balance between secretion and elimination of airway mucus and lead to mucus accumulation in the lung.Postmortem examination verified that the lungs in patients died of COVID-19 are indeed filled with sticky mucus,suggesting a great need to improve airway mucus clearance in critically ill COVID-19 patients.Therefore,it may be helpful to comprehensively review the current understanding regarding the changes of biochemical and rheological features of airway mucus associated with the disease,as well as the physiological principles and algorithm to decide airway clearance techniques suitable for the critically ill COVID-19 patients.Based on these considerations,optimized strategies may be developed to eliminate the airway mucus accumulated in the airways of critically ill COVID-19 patients.

文摘The planetary roller screw mechanism(PRSM)is a novel precision transmission mechanism that realizes the conversion between linear and rotary motions.The contact characteristics of helical surfaces directly determine PRSM’s performance in load-carrying capacity and transmission accuracy.Therefore,studying the contact characteristics of PRSM forms the fundamental basis for enhancing its transmission performance.In this study,a three-dimensional parametric analysis method of contact characteristics is proposed based on the PRSM meshing principle and PyVista(a high-level API to the Visualization Toolkit).The proposed method considers the influence of machining errors among various thread teeth.The effects of key machining errors on contact positions and axial clearance,as well as their sensitivities,are analyzed.With excellent solution accuracy,this method exhibits higher calculation efficiency and stronger robustness than the analytical and numerical meshing models.The influence of nominal diameter and pitch errors of the screw,roller,and nut on the axial clearance follows a linear relationship,whereas flank angle errors have negligible effects on the axial clearance.The corresponding influence coefficients for these three machining errors on the axial clearance are 0.623,0.341,and 0.036.The variations in contact positions caused by individual errors are axisymmetric.Flank angle errors and roller diameter errors result in linear displacements of the contact points,whereas pitch errors cause the contact points to move along the arc of the roller diameter.Based on the proposed threedimensional parametric contact characteristics analysis method,the Fuzzy C-Means clustering algorithm considering error sensitivity is utilized to establish a component grouping technique in the selective assembly of critical PRSM components,ensuring the rational and consistent clearances based on the given component’s machining errors.This study provides effective guidance for analyzing contact characteristics and grouping in selective assembly for PRSM components.It also presents the proposed method’s potential applicability to similar calculation problems for contact positions and clearances in other transmission systems.
文摘A pressure controlled mechanical ventilator with an automatic secretion clearance function can improve secretion clearance safely and efficiently.Studies on secretion clearance by pressure controlled systems show that these are suited for clinical applications.However,these studies are based on a single lung electric model and neglect the coupling between the two lungs.The research methods applied are too complex for the analysis of a multi-parameter system.In order to understand the functioning of the human respiratory system,this paper develops a dimensionless mathematical model of doublelung mechanical ventilation system with a secretion clearance function.An experiment is designed to verify the mathematical model through comparison of dimensionless experimental data and dimensionless simulation data.Finally,the coupling between the two lungs is studied,and an orthogonal experiment designed to identify the impact of each parameter on the system.

文摘Ambient particles severely threaten human health worldwide.Compared to larger particles,ultrafine particles(UFPs)are highly concentrated in ambient environments,have a larger specific surface area,and are retained for a longer time in the lung.Recent studies have found that they can be transported into various extra-pulmonary organs by crossing the air-blood barrier(ABB).Therefore,to understand the adverse effects of UFPs,it is crucial to thoroughly investigate their bio-distribution and clearance pathways in vivo after inhalation,as well as their toxicological mechanisms.This review highlights emerging evidence on the bio-distribution of UFPs in pulmonary and extra-pulmonary organs.It explores how UFPs penetrate the ABB,the blood-brain barrier(BBB),and the placental barrier(PB)and subsequently undergo clearance by the liver,kidney,or intestine.In addition,the potential underlying toxicological mechanisms of UFPs are summarized,providing fundamental insights into how UFPs induce adverse health effects.

文摘The deployable telescopic boom,whose mass and stiffness play crucial roles,is extensively used in the design of space-deployable structures.However,the most existing optimal design that neglects the influence of the locking mechanisms in boom joints cannot raise the whole stiffness while reducing the boom mass.To tackle this challenge,a novel optimization model,which utilizes the arrangement of the locking mechanisms to achieve synchronous improvement of the stiffness and mass,is proposed.The proposed optimization model incorporates a novel joint stiffness model developed based on an equivalent parallel mechanism that enables the consideration of multiple internal stiffness factors of the locking mechanisms and tubes,resulting in more accurate representations of the joint stiffness behavior.Comparative analysis shows that the proposed stiffness model achieves more than at least 11% improved accuracy compared with existing models.Furthermore,case verification shows that the proposed optimization model can improve stiffness while effectively reducing mass,and it is applied in boom optimization design.
