This paper proposes a completely 2-dimens...So far all the models for predicting flow and temperature fields in inductively coupled thermal plasma generators are based on 1-dimensional electromagnetic field formulation. This paper proposes a completely 2-dimensional modelling in which a 2-dimensional electromagnetic field formulation is used to be coupled with 2-dimensional continuity, momentum and energy equations for an axisymmetrical plasma generator. Typical results show that the calculated flow, temperature and electromagnetic fields near the inlet and inside the coil region, especially at low powers, are quite different from those predicted with previous approaches.展开更多
