Humanistic education,as the“internal structure”of medical education,attempts to cultivate medical students’humanistic knowledge,ability,and comprehensive quality as well as makes adjustments with the evolvement of ...Humanistic education,as the“internal structure”of medical education,attempts to cultivate medical students’humanistic knowledge,ability,and comprehensive quality as well as makes adjustments with the evolvement of medical education.The global medical education reform has undergone three stages:expert medicine,clinical practice medicine,and public service medicine.Public service medicine,which took place in the 21st century,is a system-based and competency-oriented education,highlighting the construction of a health service system with medical and educational cooperation as well as the cultivation of medical students’comprehensive quality.China’s medical education started late and has a weak foundation with many twists and turns.Through the rapid development of reform and opening-up,China has narrowed the gap with international medical education and established a perfect medical curriculum system.China has successively promulgated a number of documents,such as the“Outline of Reform and Development of Medical Education in China”and the“Opinions on Strengthening the Collaboration between Health Departments and Education Departments to Implement the Doctor of Excellence Education Training Program 2.0,”with the goal of cultivating high-quality excellent medical talents.Medical students in colleges and universities are senior talents in medical training,health care services,and medical research.Their humanistic quality is not only related to the growth of medical talents,but also the quality of medical services.This paper analyzes and discusses the problems encountered in improving humanistic education and looks forward to providing reasonable as well as effective solutions to the difficulties faced by humanistic education in the new era through comparative research.展开更多

Theref...Medicine is a science studying human's health and diseases as well as the regularity between them. Its research subject is human, who possess natural attribute, psychological attribute and social attribute. Therefore, medicine is bound to possess humanistic attribute. Rooted in Chinese traditional culture, Traditional Chinese Medicine contains abundant humanistic thoughts, for instance, pursuing the unity of human and nature, advocating the vital importance of life, sticking to the virtue of "medicine being humane art", abiding by the principle of "Benevolence prior to interest", complying with the medical rule of "Respecting peers". These are the very concrete reflections of medical humanistic spirit. In this article we aim to explore the humanistic thoughts contained in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and try to inherit and carry forward the spirit to better relieve the tensions between doctors and patients and improve the quality of medical services.展开更多
To conform to the college English teaching reform from English for General Purposes (EGP) to English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in the vital transfer era, the Foreign Language Department of Second Military Medical Un...To conform to the college English teaching reform from English for General Purposes (EGP) to English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in the vital transfer era, the Foreign Language Department of Second Military Medical University (SMMU) launched an English for Medical Academic Purpose (EMAP) curriculum with English Forum on Medical Humanities (EFMH), a project-based teaching practice. Based on Rogers' learner-centered humanistic teaching approach which emphasizes students' involvement and experiences in learning, EFMH puts students and their practice in a central place. After four-year exploration and operation, the Forum has developed from a small-scaled embryo into an internationalized, standardized and professionalized event, having produced fruitful outcomes. It is expected that the success of EFMH will provide inspiring experiences and enlightenments for higher medical education in terms of academic English teaching and teachers' responsibilities to foster high-quality medical students.展开更多
