Surface and Content Validity of the Mentoring Function Scale for Novice Nurses

This study aimed to examine the surface and content validity of the Mentoring Function Scale for Novice Nurses, used to assess the mentoring of entry-level nurses, and to refine the scale items. In Study 1, six nurse education researchers, selected using convenience sampling, with five or more years of nursing experience and experience teaching novice nurses, were invited to an expert meeting in July 2015. A group interview was conducted that lasted approximately 120 minutes. Study 2 examined the content validity index. Between September and November 2015, we distributed a self-administered questionnaire survey to 11 participants selected by convenience sampling. The participants included five nurse education researchers with a minimum of five years of nursing experience and experience teaching novice nurses, as well as six clinical nurses with a master’s degree or higher. Finally, 81 questionnaire items were retained from the initial 125 items. The 81-item Mentoring Function Scale for Novice Nurses had higher content validity than the original scale. To further increase the scale’s applicability, future studies should assess its reliability, construct validity, and criterion-related validity. 展开更多

背景农村糖尿病患者不规范治疗现象尤为严重,预防和控制糖尿病并发症,降低其致残率和死亡率是当前我国农村糖尿病健康管理的首要问题。目的探讨线上线下(O2O)同伴导师协同式健康管理对农村糖尿病不规范治疗患者的风险感知及糖尿病管理... 背景农村糖尿病患者不规范治疗现象尤为严重,预防和控制糖尿病并发症,降低其致残率和死亡率是当前我国农村糖尿病健康管理的首要问题。目的探讨线上线下(O2O)同伴导师协同式健康管理对农村糖尿病不规范治疗患者的风险感知及糖尿病管理自我效能的影响。方法采用便利抽样法,选取2023年4—11月在大庆市让胡路区喇嘛甸镇的农村糖尿病不规范治疗患者90例作为研究对象,采用随机数字表法分为试验组45例和对照组45例。试验组采用O2O同伴导师协同式健康管理方案,干预时间为6个月,对照组采用常规慢性病健康管理。比较两组患者在风险感知及糖尿病管理自我效能方面的差异。结果试验组42例,对照组41例完成该研究。干预后试验组糖尿病风险感知量表得分为(43.86±7.00)分,高于对照组的(32.56±4.24)分(t=8.864,P<0.001);干预后试验组糖尿病管理自我效能量表得分为(100.45±16.74)分,高于对照组的(75.54±13.82)分(t=7.384,P<0.001)。结论O2O同伴导师协同式健康管理方案能有效提高农村糖尿病不规范治疗患者的风险感知及糖尿病管理自我效能,提高其健康管理水平。 展开更多

There is a need to identify effective ways to sustain and develop nursing leaders. Mentoring has been identified as an invaluable tool to attract and retain new nurse leaders. Examining the concept of mentoring in nursing leadership provides a greater understanding of its importance in today’s healthcare system. The concept of mentoring will be analyzed using the framework developed by Walker and Avant. A literature review was conducted to examine the current usage of the concept of mentoring. Consistent with Walker and Avant’s framework, defining attributes, antecedents, and consequences of mentoring have been identified. Further illustration of this concept is provided by describing model, borderline, related, and contrary cases. Demonstrating the occurrence of the concept of mentoring, Empirical referents will also be explored. 展开更多

However, we also have a shortage of experientially q... Mentoring in academia promotes the retention of students and future faculty. Presently, it is general knowledge that we have a shortage of nurses in our profession. However, we also have a shortage of experientially qualified educators and mentors. In general, the problem is there is a lack of mentors in healthcare as a whole that have the ability or willingness to mentor future generations of faculty. Mentors are needed to pass on knowledge and promote retention of students and faculty in academia. The example we present to the students in healthcare professions will also impact the retention of healthcare faculty as a whole. It is logical to think that if we retain our students in academia, we also retain future experientially qualified faculty in academia. How we mentor one another as a novice and seasoned faculty can impact what students see and learn as well from us. A literature review of 46 articles was completed and 19 of the articles were used as references in this article, along with a few more relevant references. The articles from the literature review showed evidence of positive mentoring experiences lead to the retention of students, future mentees, and mentors in nursing academia. 展开更多

While e-mentoring is burgeoning as a practice, theoretical research related to this important phenomenon has been limited. The purpose of this paper is to suggest that social presence theory presents a useful conceptual framework for understanding mentors’ willingness to participate in e-mentoring relationship and on their satisfaction. In sum, mentoring relationships that offer a blended approach with both high and low social presence forms of computer-mediated-communication (CMC) will be more satisfying to men- tors than those with low social presence CMC forms only. The education of prospective teachers should be based on ecological approach, which ensures the ecological perspective and an opportunity for students to develop their readiness to integrate into the school environment. The main aim of the author's research is to substantiate mentoring as an interaction system for the facilitation of the prospective teachers' readiness to integrate into the school environment. The author of this paper offers the results of her theoretical research: substantiation of mentoring's importance in teachers' education, substantiation of mentors' roles and functions, and substantiation of ecological approach in teachers' education. Ecological approach in teachers' education facilitates the formation of friendly attitude toward a school as an educational environment. Mentoring provides the prospective teachers' readiness to the professional activity and ability to successful integration in various types of school environment, considering their specificity. The mentoring relationship between supervisor and postgraduate is crucially important to ensure the quality of education for postgraduates.In this paper,factors affecting the mentoring relationship were investigated by a binary logit model using data collected from 345 postgraduates.In addition,marginal effects were introduced to quantify the effects of factors on mentoring relationship.A total of 11 factors were found to be significant,and four of them could increase the risk of supervisor-postgraduate conflict,while the remaining seven factors could decrease the risk of supervisor-postgraduate conflict.Findings from this study can help better understand the mechanism of supervisor-postgraduate conflicts and develop effective countermeasures. 展开更多

某三甲医院导师学术领导力评价现状及影响因素研究

目的采用量表法调查某医院导师学术领导力及导学关系现状,并进一步分析此二者之间的关系。方法2020年1-2月间,采用学术导师领导力、苛责行为及“领导-下属”交换关系量表抽样调查该医院在读研究生,组间差异比较采用独立样本t检验、方差... 目的采用量表法调查某医院导师学术领导力及导学关系现状,并进一步分析此二者之间的关系。方法2020年1-2月间,采用学术导师领导力、苛责行为及“领导-下属”交换关系量表抽样调查该医院在读研究生,组间差异比较采用独立样本t检验、方差分析进行,组间的相关性采用Pearson或Spearman等级相关分析及多元线性回归分析。结果158名在读学生参与调查,受调查者学术导师领导力量表(ASLS)、苛责行为量表(ABMS)、“领导-下属”交换关系量表(LMXS)评分分别为(112.23±19.01)分、(16.26±5.55)分、(29.80±4.94)分,得分率分别为89.80%、21.70%、85.10%。分组比较后发现,不同指导频次导师在ASLS发展和激励维度及LMXS得分差异有统计学意义。导师指导频次与ASLS发展和激励维度及LMXS得分正相关,ABMS与ASLS及LMXS评分负相关,LMXS与ASLS评分正相关。可拟出回归方程ASLS=40.422-0.816ABMS+2.799LMXS(F=52.031、P<0.001、R2=0.722)。结论不同指导频次导师在ASLS发展和激励维度及LMXS得分差异有统计学意义。指导频次正向影响、苛责行为负向影响学术导师领导力及导学关系评分,导学关系正向影响学术领导力评分。呼吁高校相关部门高度重视对导师学术领导力的认识、评价和培养,组织导师培训项目,促进良好导学关系的建立,提高导师的学术领导力。 展开更多

研究生学术能力是研究生培养过程中的重要内容,一直以来都受到广泛关注,导师资本对研究生学术能力提升的重要性得到肯定,但缺乏机理分析和定量刻画。本文通过对6所高校的788名经管类研究生进行问卷调查,探索导师资本与学术能力的现状特... 研究生学术能力是研究生培养过程中的重要内容,一直以来都受到广泛关注,导师资本对研究生学术能力提升的重要性得到肯定,但缺乏机理分析和定量刻画。本文通过对6所高校的788名经管类研究生进行问卷调查,探索导师资本与学术能力的现状特征及影响关系,并利用SPSS25.0软件进行数据处理与中介效应分析。结果发现,经管类研究生的学术能力存在性别、年级、就业意向等群体差异;导师资本对学术能力有显著正向影响作用,并且能够通过影响学术态度间接影响研究生的学术能力。在经管类研究生学术能力培养中应当重视导师资本发挥的重要作用,合理引导利用好这类影响因素,推动研究生学术能力成长更进一步。 展开更多
