Titanium oxide film with a graded interface to NiTi matrix was synthesized in situ on NiTi shape memory alloy(SMA) by oxidation in H2O2 solution. In vitro studies including contact angle measurement, hemolysis, MTT cytotoxicity and cell morphology tests were employed to investigate the biocompatibility of the H2O2-oxidized NiTi SMAs with this titanium oxide film. The results reveal that wettability, blood compatibility and fibroblasts compatibility of NiTi SMA are improved by the coating of titanium oxide film through H2O2 oxidation treatment. 展开更多

Micro-arc oxidation(MAO)is one of the promising methods to improve the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys.However,there are plenty of micro-pores in the traditional MAO films,deteriorating their protection property.A novel self-sealing pore MAO film was developed in this paper.The morphologies and chemical composition of the film were detected by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX).The corrosion behavior was investigated by electrochemical and salt spray tests.The possible film formation and corrosion mechanisms were proposed.The self-sealing pore film presents a blue appearance.Most of the micro-pores in the surface of the film are sealed during the film formation process.The chemical composition of the film mainly contains Mg,O,Ti,F and P.The self-sealing pore film exhibits better corrosion resistance compared with the traditional silicate film.Especially,the self-sealing pore film keeps intact after salt spray test for 2000 h,which can be attributed to its high compactness. 展开更多

Protein exerts a critical influence on the degradation behavior of absorbable magnesium(Mg)-based implants.However,the interaction mechanism between protein and a micro-arc oxidation(MAO)coating on Mg alloys remains unclear.Hereby,a MAO coating was fabricated on AZ31 Mg alloy.And its degradation behavior in phosphate buffer saline(PBS)containing bovine serum albumin(BSA)was investigated and compared with that of the uncoated alloy.Surface morphologies and chemical compositions were studied using Field-emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM),Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer(FT-IR)and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The degradation behavior of the bare Mg alloy and its MAO coating was studied through electrochemical and hydrogen evolution tests.Cytotoxicity assay was applied to evaluate the biocompatibility of Mg alloy substrate and MAO coating.Results indicated that the presence of BSA decreased the degradation rate of Mg alloy substrate because BSA(RCH(NH2)COO‾)molecules combined with Mg2+ions to form(RCH(NH2)COO)2Mg and thus inhibited the dissolution of Mg(OH)2 by impeding the attack of Cl‾ions.In the case of MAO coated Mg alloy,the adsorption of BSA on MAO coating and the formation of(RCH(NH2)COO)2Mg exhibited a synergistic effect and enhanced the corrosion resistance of the coated alloy significantly.Furthermore,cell bioactive assay suggested that the MAO coating had good viability for MG63 cells due to its high surface area. 展开更多

Coatings on the surface of Mg alloys are inevitably damaged during their practical applications,and corrosion can easily initiate from the damaged areas to accelerate the failure of Mg parts.A dual self-healing coating has already been developed to solve this problem in our previous work.Considering the practical application of this coating,it is necessary to investigate its service behavior in atmospheric environment.Thus,the corrosion behavior of AM60 Mg substrate with and without the self-healing coating was compared in Shenyang industrial atmospheric environment.The results show that the enrichment of sediments and rainwater on the scratch areas can accelerate the corrosion of the exposed Mg substrate.The inhibitors can be released from the damaged coating to inhibit corrosion.The dual self-healing coating shows better inhibition ability to narrow scratches due to the higher inhibitor concentration and less resumption.Also,the coating with wide scratches displays enough inhibition ability as well.The dual self-healing coating is a good alternative for Mg alloy parts in the practical applications. 展开更多

从火花放电方面归纳整理了镁合金微弧氧化膜层的形成机理,并分析了膜层结构。在此基础上,结合国内外研究现状,阐述了预处理、电解质和添加剂以及电参数(电压、电流模式和脉冲频率)和封孔技术对镁合金微弧氧化膜层耐蚀性和生物相容性的... 从火花放电方面归纳整理了镁合金微弧氧化膜层的形成机理,并分析了膜层结构。在此基础上,结合国内外研究现状,阐述了预处理、电解质和添加剂以及电参数(电压、电流模式和脉冲频率)和封孔技术对镁合金微弧氧化膜层耐蚀性和生物相容性的影响。着重分析了电解质和添加剂的种类、浓度对膜层和生物性能的影响机制,其中电解质包括碱性硅酸盐和磷酸盐电解液等,添加剂包括甘油、氟化物、羟基磷灰石和纳米粒子等。研究发现,碱性磷酸盐电解质的加入可以降低膜层腐蚀速率,促进骨整合和细胞附着过程,羟基磷灰石、Ca、P等具有生物活性和对人体有益的粒子作为添加剂加入,可以显著提高膜层的耐蚀性和生物相容性。最后,基于研究现状,对镁合金微弧氧化技术在生物医用方面的发展进行了展望。 展开更多
