This work systematically reviews the complex mechanisms of CO_(2)-water-rock interactions,microscopic simulations of reactive transport(dissolution,precipitation and precipitate migration)in porous media,and microscopic simulations of CO_(2)-water-rock system.The work points out the key issues in current research and provides suggestions for future research.After injection of CO_(2) into underground reservoirs,not only conventional pressure-driven flow and mass transfer processes occur,but also special physicochemical phenomena like dissolution,precipitation,and precipitate migration.The coupling of these processes causes complex changes in permeability and porosity parameters of the porous media.Pore-scale microscopic flow simulations can provide detailed information within the three-dimensional pore and throat space and explicitly observe changes in the fluid-solid interfaces of porous media during reactions.At present,the research has limitations in the decoupling of complex mechanisms,characterization of differential multi-mineral reactions,precipitation generation mechanisms and characterization(crystal nucleation and mineral detachment),simulation methods for precipitation-fluid interaction,and coupling mechanisms of multiple physicochemical processes.In future studies,it is essential to innovate experimental methods to decouple“dissolution-precipitation-precipitate migration”processes,improve the accuracy of experimental testing of minerals geochemical reaction-related parameters,build reliable characterization of various precipitation types,establish precipitation-fluid interaction simulation methods,coordinate the boundary conditions of different physicochemical processes,and,finally,achieve coupled flow simulation of“dissolution-precipitation-precipitate migration”within CO_(2)-water-rock systems. 展开更多

Mixed traffic consisting of cars and bicycles is a typical pattern of urban traffic in China. To study the impact of bicycles on traffic performance, a microscopic simulating model based on the principle of cautious driving and collision free was proposed. The interaction between cars and bicycles were described by lateral friction and overlapping driving. The dynamical features of speed and time-headway were investigated by numerical simulations. The results show that bicycles have a significant impact on travel speed and time-headway. The effect of bicycles can cause different results in the free flow phase and congestion phase respectively. The results also indicate the necessity to mitigate the interaction between motorized vehicles and non-motorized vehicles. 展开更多

Traffic simulators are utilized to solve a variety of traffic-related problems.For such simulators,origin-destination(OD)traffic volumes as mobility demands are required to input,and we need to estimate them.The authors regard an OD estimation as a bi-level programming problem,and apply a microscopic traffic simulation model to it.However,the simulation trials can be computationally expensive if full dynamic rerouting is allowed,when employing multi-agent-based models in the estimation process.This paper proposes an efficient OD estimation method using a multi-agent-based simulator with restricted dynamic rerouting to reduce the computational load.Even though,in the case of large traffic demand,the restriction on dynamic rerouting can result in heavier congestion.The authors resolve this problem by introducing constraints of the bi-level programming problem depending on link congestion.Test results show that the accuracy of the link traffic volume reproduced with the proposed method is virtually identical to that of existing methods but that the proposed method is more computationally efficient in a wide-range or high-demand context. 展开更多

The dynamic scaling behaviour of late-stage phase separation and coarsening mechanisms of L12 and D022 in Ni75AlxV25-x (3 ≤ x ≤ 10, at.%) alloys are studied using the microscopic phase-field dynamic model. The microelaso ticity field is incorporated into the diffusion dynamic model. The results show the morphology and coarsening dynamics being greatly changed by the elastic interactions among different precipitates, the particles aligning along the dominant directions, the average domain size (ADS) of L12 and D022 deviating from the exponent of temporal power-law, and the growth slowing down due to the increasing of elastic interactions. The dynamic scaling regime of late-stage coarsening of the precipitates is attained. Thus the scaling behaviour of structure function is also applicable for elastic interaction systems. It is also found that the variations of ADS and scaling function depend on the volume fraction of precipitates. 展开更多

Road traffic congestion has become an everyday phenomenon in today's cities all around the world.The reason is clear:at peak hours,the road network operates at full capacity.In this way,growing traffic demand cannot be satisfied,not even with traffic-responsive signal plans.The external impacts of traffic congestion come with a serious socio-economic cost:air pollution,increased travel times and fuel consumption,stress,as well as higher risk of accidents.To tackle these problems,a number of European cities have implemented reduced speed limit measures.Similarly,a general urban speed limit measure is in preparatory phase in Budapest,Hungary.In this context,a complex preliminary impact assessment is needed using a simulated environment.Two typical network parts of Budapest were analyzed with microscopic traffic simulations.The results revealed that speed limits can affect traffic differently in diverse network types indicating that thorough examination and preparation works are needed prior to the introduction of speed limit reduction. 展开更多

A heuristic algorithm was utilized to identify a set of road construction schedules, while PARAMICS was adopted to estimate the total travel time in the network under each road construction scenario. To test the performance of proposed heuristics-simulation methodology, a numerical test was implemented. The overall results suggested that the proposed methodol- ogy could quickly find the optimum solution with good convergence. 展开更多

We present simulations of the mechanism of secondary nucleation of polymer crystallization,based on a new model accounting for the microscopic kinetics of attaching and detaching.As the key feature of the model,we introduced multibody-interaction parameters that establish correlations between the attaching and detaching rate constants and the resulting thickness and width of the crystalline lamella.Using MATLAB and Monte Carlo method,we followed the evolution of the secondary nuclei as a function of various multibody-interaction parameters.We identified three different growth progressions of the crystal:(i) Widening,(ii) thickening and(iii) simultaneously thickening and widening of lamellar crystals,controlled by the corresponding kinetic parameters. 展开更多

Changes in family structure in China:the impact of residence patterns and demographic factors

Based on census data from China,this paper uses SOCSIM microscopic simulation method to decompose the key factors of family transition into demographic and residence pattern factors.The former are further broken down into demographic inertia,fertility,mortality and marriage rate.The results indicate that the current demographic changes are relatively small and,thus,the small fluctuations caused by demographic changes contribute much less than residence pattern to the family transition.Among the demographic factors,demographic inertia and fertility have a greater effect on family transition and the impacts caused by fertility and marriage rate are consistent with the direction of the overall influence of demographic factors:increasing the proportion of single-person households,one-generation households,and two-generation households,and decreasing the proportion of three-generation or more households.In contrast,the effect of mortality rate was opposite to that of fertility rate,which increased the proportion of populations living in single-person,one-generation,and two-generation households,but the decreased the proportion of the population living in three-generation or more households. 展开更多
