From the perspective of livelihood capital,this paper uses the measuring indicators in line with the new-generation migrant workers' livelihood characteristics,to analyze the typical characteristics and causes of new-generation migrant workers' urban adaptation in Jianggan District of Hangzhou City based on field survey data. In the study,it is found that the new-generation migrant workers' urban adaptation characteristics are focused on life adaptation,work adaptation and cultural adaptation,but the adaptation in the three areas is not good and there is a big room for improvement.展开更多
Government city management is facing higher requirements with the development of the number of migrant workers.Therefore,improving their subjective well-being is a significant practical problem that the government mus...Government city management is facing higher requirements with the development of the number of migrant workers.Therefore,improving their subjective well-being is a significant practical problem that the government must consider in public governance.This research discusses the influence of public service satisfaction on the well-being of urban migrant workers from the perspective of social comparison theory and the role of the sense of social equity and social conflict in the process of this influence.Using the structural equation modeling and moderated mediating mechanism analysis,the results show that:(1)the satisfaction of social and economic public service significantly and positively affects subjective well-being.(2)The sense of social equity completely mediated the influence of the satisfaction of public social service on well-being and partly mediated the influence of the satisfaction of public financial service on well-being.(3)The sense of social equity and conflict have a moderated mediating effect for social and economic public service satisfaction on well-being.Finally,the article concludes with some suggestions to improve the well-being of migrant workers based on the conclusion of the study.展开更多

(1) The overwhelming majority of rural migrant workers in China were not willing to convert their rural household registration (nongye hukou) to an urban or non-rural registration Orei nong hukou). If they were required to return the rural land contract rights as precondition, only lOper cent were willing to be urban citizens. (2) For the small proportion of migrant workers who were willing to convert their rural household registration to urban household registration, 'obtaining access to better education and more opportunities for the continuation of education for their children' is the major incentive. (3) The primary reason for retaining a rural hukou, on the other hand, is to keep their rural contract land. (4) Finally, there is no significant difference between the rural migrant workers who were born before 1980 and those after 1980, in term of the attitude toward converting rural hukou to urban hukou. The policy recommendations drew from the findings are as follows: 1) In order to promote the urbanization process, the government should choose the path of 'urbanization based on the long term residence in the towns and cities' instead of the path of "urbanization based on household registration '. 2) The rural migrant workers should be converted into urban citizens without being forced to give up their contact land. 3) The government should give equal weight in policy making to the migrant workers born before 1980 and those born after 1980. Using factor analysis,we derive that the model includes three factors: skill literacy,relationship literacy and basic literacy. The weights of each factor are 0. 580,0. 244 and 0. 174 8,respectively. Skill literacy is affected by skill level,learning ability,career aspiration,ability to analyze problems,physical health status and other factors. Relationship literacy is affected by the sense of teamwork,interpersonal skills,social support and other factors. Basic literacy is affected by educational level,hardworking spirit and other factors. According to the results,we put forth the following recommendations to improve the new generation migrant workers' employability: strengthening the vocational skill training; coordinating the vocational education resources.展开更多

Researches have indicated that going out to work,employment opportunity,nature of subordinate service industry,industrial technical level,and financial support play a significant role in employment intention of migrant workers,while their employment ability is influenced by their cultural quality,professional skills, working endurance,degree of policy cognition,and information channel,etc. In view of these five aspects,I put forward following countermeasures: raise educational level,improve skills,strengthen endurance,enhance attention to policies,and expand information channel,to improve employment ability of new generation migrant workers.
文摘The paper conducts an investigation on the new generation migrant workers in view of the selecting and obtaining employment of new generation migrant workers in industrial zone of Yudu County,Ganzhou Province during the period from June 23,2010 to June 27,2010.The basic situation of the selecting and obtaining employment of new generation migrant workers,the expectation and career goals is collected.The chief problems confronted by the selecting and obtaining employment of migrant workers are analyzed.The problems cover substandard employment of enterprises;unsatisfying working and living conditions of new generation migrant workers;the knowledge and technology of new generation migrant workers lag behind the demand of enterprises;the new generation migrant workers lack the spirit of bearing hardships and hard work;new generation migrant workers do not have clear career plan and their demands on studying and training are hard to be materialized;restricted by household registration system,the new generation migrant workers can not enter into their workplace.Countermeasures and suggestions on solving the selecting and obtaining of new generation migrant workers are put forward.Firstly,perfecting the relevant laws and regulations on labors and protecting the each item of labor economic rights of new generation migrant workers;secondly,intensifying vocational training and improving the competitiveness of new generation migrant workers;thirdly,paying attention to the political education and mental health education on new generation migrant workers and launching rich and colorful cultural activities;fourthly,reinforcing the human concern and right protection on new generation migrant workers to enhance their right to say;fifthly,intensifying the reform on household registration and accelerating the process of urbanization.

文摘With the transformation of China's economy,the new generation of migrant workers quickly entered the labor market and gradually became the main body of supply in the labor market. Based on the relevant theory of human capital investment and the survey of the current situation of entrepreneurial ability of the new generation of migrant workers,through building the human capital investment linear regression model,this paper analyzed the different variables for human capital investment of the new generation of migrant workers from the quantitative perspective. It found that the educational level is the largest factor influencing their entrepreneurial ability. Finally,it came up with pertinent recommendations for improving the entrepreneurial ability of the new generation of migrant workers.

文摘Through literature research and expert interviews,we extract 10 variables influencing the new generation migrant workers' employability,and establish the comprehensive evaluation model of the new generation migrant workers' employability. Using factor analysis,we derive that the model includes three factors: skill literacy,relationship literacy and basic literacy. The weights of each factor are 0. 580,0. 244 and 0. 174 8,respectively. Skill literacy is affected by skill level,learning ability,career aspiration,ability to analyze problems,physical health status and other factors. Relationship literacy is affected by the sense of teamwork,interpersonal skills,social support and other factors. Basic literacy is affected by educational level,hardworking spirit and other factors. According to the results,we put forth the following recommendations to improve the new generation migrant workers' employability: strengthening the vocational skill training; coordinating the vocational education resources.

文摘Based on survey data of current situations of new generation migrant workers vocational education and its influence on social mobility in Shijiazhuang City, the author believes that there are many drawbacks in vocational education of new generation migrant workers, including low participationt and varied training environment of enterprises. In addition, the influence of vocational education of migrant workers on social mobility is not very satisfactory. Finally, it presents countermeasures for improving vocational education, to promote social mobility of new generation migrant workers.

文摘With urbanization and socio-economic development,new generation migrant workers play an increasingly important role in urban construction. However,for a long time,their social integration situation in inflow places is not ideal. Academic circle has done a lot of researches,but no effective strategy is so far put forward. Through analysis of domestic and foreign researches,it is found that social capital and human capital have an important influence on social integration of new generation migrant workers. This paper takes this as starting point,combines characteristics of new generation migrant workers,and overviews theories and empirical researches of domestic and foreign famous scholars,to explore the relationship between social capital and human capital and social integration of new generation migrant workers.
文摘We conduct questionnaire survey of migrant workers in Wenjiang District and Jintang County of Chengdu City,respectively,using the method of key-point investigation and the sampling survey. We describe the status quo of the sample migrant workers' participation in the New Rural Cooperative Medical System,analyze the issues concerning migrant workers' participation in the New Rural Cooperative Medical System,and put forward the countermeasures and recommendations as follows: using many types of medical insurance; establishing universal reimbursement points in strange land and premium-paying system for migrant workers; making the proportion of reimbursement open and transparent; establishing and improving medicare security system for migrant workers.
文摘Based on China's special conditions and characteristics of specific group of new-generation migrant workers,this article researches connotation of employment ability of new-generation migrant workers in China,that is,the connotation of employment ability of new-generation migrant workers in China should include four aspects:professional knowledge and skills,learning capacity,adaptability and environmental force.On this basis,through the analysis of indicators concerning connotation of employment ability,we get the overall characteristics of employment ability of new-generation migrant workers in China and reason responsible for its serious weakness.Finally we put forward corresponding countermeasures as follows:impart professional knowledge and skills;promote learning capacity;foster adaptive capacity;improve employment environment.

文摘Scientific and reasonable indicator system is the key for evaluating citizenization level of new generation migrant workers. With reference to basic connotation of endogenous and exogenous variables and in view of citizenization characteristics of new generation migrant workers,it built an evaluation indicator system including endogenous indicators based on micro-individual and exogenous indicators based on mesourban environment and macro-national policies. Besides,combining current situation of new generation migrant workers in Jiangsu Province,it evaluated citizenization level of the indicator system,in the hope of providing certain reference for evaluating citizenization level of new generation migrant workers.
