The reliable operation of high-speed wire rod finishing mills is crucial in the steel production enterprise.As complex system-level equipment,it is difficult for high-speed wire rod finishing mills to realize fault location and real-time monitoring.To solve the above problems,an expert experience and data-driven-based hybrid fault diagnosis method for high-speed wire rod finishing mills is proposed in this paper.First,based on its mechanical structure,time and frequency domain analysis are improved in fault feature extraction.The approach of combining virtual value,peak value with kurtosis value index,is adopted in time domain analysis.Speed adjustment and side frequency analysis are proposed in frequency domain analysis to obtain accurate component characteristic frequency and its corresponding sideband.Then,according to time and frequency domain characteristics,fault location based on expert experience is proposed to get an accurate fault result.Finally,the proposed method is implemented in the equipment intelligent diagnosis system.By taking an equipment fault on site,for example,the effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated in the system. 展开更多

The objective of this work was to study hearing loss induced by the noise of mills in the markets of Parakou. Methods: This ... Introduction: Noise is the second leading cause of hearing loss in adults after presbycusis. The objective of this work was to study hearing loss induced by the noise of mills in the markets of Parakou. Methods: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study, conducted from February 3 to June 3, 2021 in the markets of Parakou. It concerned millers and sellers located within a 5 meter radius around the mills and among whom pure-tone audiometry was performed to detect a hearing loss. Subjects with no particular medical health history, under 55 years of age and having been working in these markets since more than 12 months, were included. Results: In this study, 103 subjects were selected, including 43 millers and 61 sellers. Their average age was 29 ± 13 years. The sex ratio was 0.49. The average length of service in the profession was 8 years with the extremes of 3 months and 47 years. They were exposed to noise on average 10 hours per day and 6 days a week. The average duration of weekly noise exposure was 23 h 28 min ± 13 h 32 min with the extremes of 5 h 00 min and 52 h 30 min. The average level of noise exposure was 90 dB with the extremes of 72 and 110 dB. 24 subjects reported symptoms related to noise such as headache, tinnitus, and hearing loss, with respective proportions of 22.33%, 20.39% and 06.80%. The prevalence of noise-related hearing loss was 26.21% (n = 27/103). Subjects with a notch at 4000 Hz and normal Average Hearing Loss (AHL) (20.39%) had a seven-time greater risk of developing noise-induced hearing loss (OR = 6.58;95% CI [2.54 - 18.8], p Conclusion: Hearing loss related to the noise of mills affected both millers and sellers near the mills in markets, hence the importance of regulating mills. 展开更多

A new technique was introduced for sand stabilization and re-vegetation by use of lignin sand stabilizing material(LSSM). LSSM is a reconstructed organic compound with lignin as the most dominant component from the extracts of black-liquor issued by straw pulp paper mills. Unlike the polyvinyl acetate or foamed asphalt commonly used for dune stabilization, the new material is plant-friendly and can be used with virescence actions simultaneously. The field experimental study was conducted since 2001 in China's Northwest Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and has been proved that LSSM is effective in stabilizing the fugitive dunes, making the arenaceous plants survive and the bare dune vegetative. The advisable solution concentration is 2% and the optimal field spraying quantity is 2 5 L/m^2 The soil nutrients of the stabilized and greened dune, such as organic matter, available phosphorous and total nitrogen are all increased compared with the control treatment, which is certainly helpful to the growth of arenaceous plants. The technique is worthwhile to be popularized because it is provided not only a new method for desertification control but also an outlet for cleaning contaminants issued from the straw paper mills. 展开更多

Varying contact-length backup roll and linearly variable crown work roll are provided for improving the mill performance of profile and flatness control. Integrated with theses technologies, relevant profile and flatness control models are developed for hot strip mills on the basis of large amount of finite element calculation. These models include shape setup control model in process control system, bending force feedforward control model, crown feedback control model and flatness feedback control model in basis automation system. Such a profile and flatness control system with full functions is applied in 1 700 mm industrial hot strip mills of Ansteel. Large amount of production data shows that the crown precision with the tolerance of±18 μm is over 90%, the strip percentage which the actual flatness is within ±25 I-unit surpasses 96%, and general roll consume is reduced by 28% by using the profile and fiatness control system. Two different restrictive conditions which gaps between chock of work roll and window of stand whether exist or not, are studied respectively. A new concept of roll system with open /closed compound pair conies up with as well for re-newably synthesizing restrictive mechanism of aluminum foil mills' chock. Through these studies, the conflict, whether reserving the gap for the roller replacement or eliminating the gap for roller's normal work, is successfully settled. This concept and analyzed result give the actual mechanism with open/closed compound restriction and the method of realizing high-speed rolling and prolonging longevity of end thrust bearing on work roll. It has important theoretical meaning and engineering value for modern technical reform of aluminum foil mills and plate strip mills. 展开更多

The early impulse fault diagnosis of the gearbox in rolling mills is often difficult and labour intensive because the gearbox of that high speed machine is multi-shafting transmission system,in which many gearsets and rolling bears work together at the same time and there are much complex frequency structure and various disturb.A new time-frequency method based on the wavelet packets technique was developed and used to extract the impact feature from signals collected from faulty data of one rolling mills gearbox.The method improves the signal to noise ration so that results obtained using this method represents features with fine resolution in both low-frequency and the high frequency bands.The results of analysis indicate the validity and the practicability of the method proposed here. 展开更多

Olive mills wastewater(OMW) exhibit substantial contaminated properties due to their content of phenolic constituents and organic substances. The purpose of this work was the investigation of the efficiency of clay materials for the adsorption of phenolic compounds, which are contained in OMW.Furthermore, thermal activation of the clay took place in order to improve phenolic compounds uptake and afterwards, desorption process was studied. The adsorbent was characterized using XRD, XRF and BET surface area analyses. The adsorption efficiency of phenolic compounds by raw and calcined clay at 600 °C was 77.61% and 84.21%, respectively at acidic p H. The values of Gibbs free energy indicated that adsorption process is spontaneous and beneficial at higher temperatures. Alkaline medium was propitious for phenolic compounds desorption. The obtained results showed that natural clay could be used as a low-cost adsorbent for OMW treatment. 展开更多

Laying pipe curve design method based on w... Laying head is a high-precision engineering device in hot-rolled high speed wire rod production line. Previously research works are focused on the laying pipe wear-resisting. Laying pipe curve design method based on wire rod kinematics and dynamics analyses are not reported before. In order to design and manufacture the laying pipe, the motion and force process of the wire rod in the laying pipe should be studied. In this paper, a novel approach is proposed to investigate the force modeling for hot-rolled wire rod in laying pipe. An idea of limited element method is used to analysis and calculates the forces between laying pipe inner surface and wire rod. The design requirements of laying pipe curve for manufacturing are discussed. The kinematics and dynamics modeling for numerical calculation are built. A laying pipe curve equation is proposed by discussing design boundary conditions. Numerical results with di erent laying pipe curves design parameters are plotted and compared. The proposed approach performs good result which can be applied for laying pipe curve design and analysis for engineering application. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Mills’syndrome is an extremely rare degenerative motor neuron disorder first described by Mills in 1900,but its nosological status is still not clear.We aimed to analyze the clinical features of Mills’syndrome.CASE SUMMARY Herein,we present 3 cases with similar features as those described in Mills’original paper and review the related literature.Our patients showed middle-and older-age onset,with only upper motor neuron symptoms evident throughout the course of the disease.Spastic hemiplegia began in the lower extremity with a unique progressive pattern.CONCLUSION We consider that Mills’syndrome is a unique entity of motor neuron disorder with an N-shaped progression.Clinicians should maintain a high index of suspicion for the diagnosis of Mills’syndrome when the onset involves lower extremity paralysis without evidence of lower motor neuron or sensory involvement. 展开更多
