文摘Mindfulness-based interventions(MBIs)are emerging non-pharmacological treatments for mild traumatic brain injury(mTBI).In this systematic review, the authors aimed to evaluate the potential efficacy of MBIs to provide recommendations for treating patients with mTBI.We searched of the English literature on MBIs for patients with mTBI as of 01 September,2023,using the PubMed,Web of Science,PsycINFO,and Scopus databases. One author performed data extraction and quality scoring of the included literature according to the proposed protocol, and another conducted the review. The review was not registered.A total of 11 studies met the final inclusion criteria,5 of which involved military personnel(veterans).MBIs covered in this review include goal-oriented attention self-regulation(GOALS),mindfulness-based stress reduction(MBSR),acceptance and commitment therapy(ACT),and so on.Research shows that MBSR mainly reduces mental fatigue symptoms in mTBI patients, and GOALS tend to improve their cognitive function. The effect of MBIs on psychological symptoms needs further exploration.Other studies, such as mindfulness-based group therapy and intervention studies targeting mTBI military personnel, are relatively sparse.MBIs have specific effects on mental fatigue and cognitive dysfunction in patients with mTBI.However, the effect on psychological distress and the sustained effectiveness across all symptoms still need further exploration.Considering the particularity of military personnel suffering from mTBI,researchers need to do more intervention studies targeting mTBI military personnel. Therefore, the design of future MBIs trials for mTBI patients’needs to take into account all the factors, such as different populations and severity of traumatic brain injury,to verify the effectiveness of MBIs in alleviating mTBI symptoms and explore the mechanism of intervention.

文摘The high rates of depression, burnout, and increased risk of suicide among medical students, residents, and physicians in comparison with other careers signal a mental health crisis within our profession. We contend that this crisis coupled with the inadequate acquisition of interpersonal skills during medical education results from the interaction between a challenging environment and the mental capital of individuals.Additionally,we posit that mindfulness-based practices are instrumental for the development of major components of mental capital, such as resilience, flexibility of mind, and learning skills, while also serving as a pathway to enhance empathy,compassion,self-awareness,conflict resolution, and relational abilities.Importantly, the evidence base supporting the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions has been increasing over the years, and a growing number of medical schools have already integrated mindfulness into their curricula. While we acknowledge that mindfulness is not a panacea for all educational and mental health problems in this field,we argue that there is currently an unprecedented opportunity to gather momentum, spread and study mindfulness-based programs in medical schools around the world as a way to address some longstanding shortcomings of the medical profession and the health and educational systems upon which it is rooted.

文摘Background:In recent years, online trolling has garnered significant attention due to its detrimental effects on mental health and social well-being.The current study examined the influence of peer victimization on adolescent online trolling behavior, proposing that hostile attribution bias mediated this relationship and that trait mindfulness moderated both the direct and indirect effects. Methods:A total of 833 Chinese adolescents completed the measurements of peer victimization, hostile attribution bias, trait mindfulness, and online trolling.Moderated mediation analysis was performed to examine the relationships between these variables. Results:After controlling for gender and residential address, the study found a significant positive correlation between peer victimization and online trolling, with hostile attribution bias serving as a mediator. In addition, trait mindfulness moderated the direct relationship between peer victimization and online trolling.Specifically, the effect of peer victimization on online trolling was attenuated when adolescents had high levels of trait mindfulness. The results of the study emphasized the joint role of peer and personal factors in adolescents’online trolling behavior and provide certain strategies for intervening in adolescents’online trolling behavior. Conclusion:The results of the study suggest that strategies focusing on peer support and mindfulness training can have a positive impact on reducing online trolling behavior, promoting adolescents’mental health, and their long-term development.
文摘Objective:To evaluate the nursing effect of self-help mindfulness therapy for patients with depression.Methods:120 cases of depression patients admitted to the Department of Psychosomatic Disorders of our hospital between January 2020 and January 2023 were selected. After being grouped by the random draw method,60 cases in the observation group adopted self-help mindfulness therapy and 60 cases in the control group adopted conventional nursing care, the nursing effects were subsequently compared. Results:Before nursing, there was no difference in the comparison of clinical symptom scores, rumination scores, positive psychological scores, and self-esteem scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After nursing, the clinical symptom scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group;the rumination scores were lower than those of the control group;the positive psychological scores were higher than those of the control group;and the self-esteem scores were higher than those of the control group, and all of them were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Self-help mindfulness therapy can improve the clinical symptoms of patients with depression and their rumination, and enhance their positive psychological state and self-esteem level, which has high nursing advantages.

文摘Objective This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a mindfulness-based psychosomatic intervention on depression, anxiety, fear of childbirth(FOC),and life satisfaction of pregnant women in China. Methods Women experiencing first-time pregnancy(n=104)were randomly allocated to the intervention group or a parallel active control group. We collected data at baseline(T0),postintervention(T1),3 days after delivery(T2),and 42 days after delivery(T3).The participants completed questionnaires for the assessment of the levels of depression, anxiety,FOC,life satisfaction, and mindfulness.Differences between the two groups and changes within the same group were analyzed at four time points using repeated-measures analysis of variance. Results Compared with the active control group, the intervention group reported lower depression levels at T2(P=0.038)and T3(P=0.013);reduced anxiety at T1(P=0.001)and T2(P=0.003);reduced FOC at T1(P<0.001)and T2(P=0.04);increased life satisfaction at T1(P<0.001)and T3(P=0.015);and increased mindfulness at T1(P=0.01)and T2(P=0.006).Conclusion The mindfulness-based psychosomatic intervention effectively increased life satisfaction and reduced perinatal depression, anxiety, and FOC.
文摘Objectives Worldwide, the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted mental health challenges for adolescent populations. The current study aims to examine the levels of perceived stress of COVID-19 and self-compassion and their relationship among adolescents in Saudi Arabia. Methods This study employed a cross-sectional online survey of adolescents from secondary schools in Asir,Saudi Arabia.Instruments that we distributed online included the modified Perceived Stress Scale(PSS-10)and the Self-Compassion Scale(SCS),in addition to demographic and health-related questions.A total of 500 adolescents completed the survey. Results Adolescents in the study reported an average moderate perceived stress level of 18.6(SD=6.67)and an average moderate self-compassion level of 3.22(SD=0.53).A significant correlation is also found between the two variables(r=−0.460,P<0.001).This negative correlation indicates that lower levels of perceived stress are significantly correlated with higher levels of self-compassion.Conclusion The study results show that the perceived stress of COVID-19 is inversely correlated with self-compassion in Saudi adolescents.Further research is needed to explore how to enhance adolescents’self-compassion.School nurses’role should be given full play in this area.
文摘BACKGROUND Acute pancreatitis(AP)is a common inflammatory disease of the pancreas with high mortality rates. It is of great significance to take scientific intervention measures for patients with AP in time.AIM To explore the effect of standardized nursing combined with mindfulness stress reduction training on the curative effect, negative emotion, and quality of life in patients with acute pancreatitis.METHODS A total of 80 patients with acute pancreatitis admitted to The First People's Hospital of Jiangxia District Hospital from May 2021 to May 2023 were randomly divided into control group and observation group(n=40).Patients in control group were given the standardized nursing intervention, and the observation group were given standardized nursing plus mindfulness stress reduction training intervention. The time of clinical symptom disappeared or improved, complication occurrence rate, emotional state, and quality of life score of the two groups were observed and compared.RESULTS In comparison with the control group, the bowel sound recovery time, ventosity and abdominal pain improvement time, and venting and cacation time in observation group were shorter, and the total incidence rate of complications was reduced, showing statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The scores of anxiety and depression in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).Serum levels of tumour necrosis factor alpha,interleukin(IL)-6,IL-1βand IL-8 in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The scores of life quality in physiology, psychology, environment and social relations in observation group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The application of standardized nursing intervention combined with mindfulness stress reduction training in patients with acute pancreatitis has a definite effect, which can help to ameliorate the clinical symptoms, anxiety and depression of patients, reduce the incidence rate of complications, and improve the prognosis of patients.

文摘BACKGROUND Postpartum depression refers to a depressive episode or depressive symptoms up to 12 mo after delivery.Trait mindfulness has presented a protective factor for postpartum depressive symptoms and proved efficient in improving relationship satisfaction among couples.AIM To investigate the correlations among mindfulness, marital quality, anxiety, and depression in a large city in western China during the post-corona virus infectious disease-2019 era and determine whether trait mindfulness mediates the relationship between marital quality and postpartum anxiety and depression among primiparas.METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted. The self-administered questionnaire was submitted online through smartphones. The levels of mindfulness, anxiety, depression, and marital quality were respectively investigated by the mindful attention awareness scale(MAAS),the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),the selfrating depression scale(SDS),and the marriage perception scale(MPS)in these enrolled Han and Tujia primiparas.RESULTS No statistical significance was observed in the prevalence of postpartum anxiety and depression, nor scores of MAAS and MPS-Total in different regions or ethnicities(P>0.05).However,MPSMarital interaction(P<0.05),MPS-Family relationship(MPS-FR)(P<0.01),and MPS-Marital conflict(MPS-MC)(P<0.01)scores of urban primiparas were higher than those of rural primiparas. The MPS-MC score of Han primiparas was higher than that of Tujia primiparas(P<0.05).Negative correlations were observed between MAAS and SAS(r=-0.457,P<0.01),and MAAS and SDS(r=-0.439,P<0.01).SAS has revealed a highly positive correlation with SDS(r=0.720,P<0.01)and a weak negative correlation with MPS(r=-0.200,P<0.05).Besides,a weak negative correlation was observed between MAAS and MPS-MC(r=-0.184,P<0.05),and a weak positive correlation was noticed between SAS and MPS-MC(r=-0.225,P<0.01).Mediation analysis demonstrated a full mediation effect of mindfulness level on the relationship between MPS-FR and postpartum anxiety(P<0.05,95%CI:-0.384 to 0.033),MPS-MC and postpartum anxiety(P<0.01,95%CI:0.027-0.193),MPS-FR and postpartum depression(P<0.05,95%CI:-0.365 to 0.031),and MPS-MC and postpartum depression(P<0.01,95%CI:0.022-0.206).CONCLUSION Mindfulness demonstrates negative correlations with marital conflict, postpartum anxiety and depression, and it may have cross-ethnic and trans-regional characteristics.Although the mindfulness levels have revealed no significant mediating effect between the total score of marital quality and postpartum depression in this study,it demonstrates a full mediation effect on the relationships between family relationships, marital conflict, and postpartum anxiety and depression.
文摘Objective:Nurses, due to the nature of their job,are subjected to various forms of stress and physical and psychological injuries.Self-compassion and a sense of coherence have attracted much attention in research in recent years as having high potential for improving the health and performance of people in the workplace. The present study aimed to compare self-compassion and the sense of coherence in nurses working in psychiatric hospitals and other hospitals of Kerman University of Medical Sciences. Methods:The present study was a descriptive-comparative study of applied type conducted on 100 nurses of Shahid Beheshti Psychiatric Hospital in Kerman by the census method and 100 nurses of other hospitals of Kerman University of Medical Sciences by the stratified random sampling method. The instruments included the self-compassion questionnaire and the sense of coherence questionnaire.Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences software. Results:The results of the present study showed that self-compassion and sense of coherence were higher in psychiatric nurses(39.35±7.7 and 53.02±8.01)than among other nurses(36.03±5.81 and 49.76±6.30).There was a direct and moderate relationship between a sense of coherence and self-compassion(P-value<0.005).The higher the score of compassion for oneself, the higher was the score of sense of coherence.Furthermore, the sense of coherence had a direct and weak relationship with all dimensions of self-compassion,except for the extreme imitation dimension, which showed a direct and moderate relationship to other dimensions(P-value<0.001).Conclusions:Self-compassion and a sense of coherence,as a form of self-communication,increase nurses’satisfaction and reduce nurses’job stress and,as a result, job performance is improved.
文摘Objective:We examined the effects of mindfulness-based interventions(MBIs)on depressive symptoms in patients with substance use disorders(SUDs)and explored the moderating effects of participant, method, and intervention characteristics. Methods:We systematically searched 8 databases from their inception till November 2021.The inclusion criteria were primary studies evaluating MBIs in patients with SUDs with depression measured as an outcome, those including a control group, and those written in English. We used a random-effects model to compute effect sizes(ESs)using Hedges’g,a forest plot, and Q and I2 statistics as measures of heterogeneity;we also examined moderator analyses. Results:Nineteen studies included 1352 participants(age:38.6±7.0 years).Overall,MBIs showed significantly improved depression(g=0.67,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.29,1.05,I2=89%)compared to controls. With regard to moderators, providing MBIs as an individual plus group intervention had a greater effect(g=2.13)on reducing depressive symptoms than providing MBIs as a group intervention(g=0.64)or an individual intervention only(g=0.33,P=0.034).Using concealed allocation tended to reduce depressive symptoms(g=1.22)as compared to not using concealed allocation(g=0.48,P=0.086).No other quality indicators were demonstrated to have a moderating influence on the value of the ES.Conclusions:MBIs improved depressive symptoms in patients with SUDs.MBIs might be used as an adjunctive or alternative to conventional treatment for depressed patients with SUDs.
文摘This experimental study investigated how text difficulty and different working memory capacity(WMC)affected Chinese EFL learners’reading comprehension and their tendency to engage in task-unrelated thoughts, that is,mind wandering(MW),in the course of reading.Sixty first-year university non-English majors participated in the study.A two-factor mixed experimental design of 2(text difficulty:difficult and simple)×2(WMC:high/large and low/small)was employed. Results revealed that 1)the main and interaction effects of WMC and text difficulty on voluntary MW were significant, whereas those on involuntary MW were not;2)while reading the easy texts, the involuntary MW of high-WMC individuals was less frequent than that of low-WMC ones, whereas while reading the difficult ones, the direct relationship between WMC and involuntary MW was not found;and that 3)high-WMC individuals had a lower overall rate of MW and better reading performance than low-WMC individuals did,but with increasing text difficulty, their rates of overall MW and voluntary MW were getting higher and higher, and the reading performance was getting lower and lower. These results lend support to WM theory and have pedagogical implications for the instruction of L2 reading.
