Three types of mine gas samples were used in the solutions of tetrahydrofuran(THF),sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)and THF-SDS with/without MMT respectively to investigate the effect of montmorillonite(MMT)on separation characteristics of methane recovered from mine gas based on hydrate method.The partition coefficient,separation factor and recovery rate were used to evaluate the effects of MMT,and the selection factor was primarily proposed to define the selectivity of mine gas hydrate in the relative target gases.The experimental results indicate that MMT could improve the following factors including hydration separation factor,the selection factor,the partition coefficient,and the recovery rate.Furthermore,the effect of SDS on the function of MMT is analyzed in the process of hydration separation.Finally,due to the results of the experiment,it is concluded that MMT hydration mechanism explores the effect of MMT enrichment methane from mine gas. 展开更多

First of all, according to the variable sequence, GM(1,1) model was set up to predict the general development trend of variable as first fitted values, then the smoothing prediction technique was used to revise the fitted values so as to improve the accuracy of prediction. The results of application in the No.6 Coal Mine in Pingdingshan mining area show that the grey smoothing model has higher accuracy than that of GM(1,1) in predicting the variable sequence with strong fluctuation. The research provides a new scientific method for predicting mine gas emission. 展开更多

Because of the former gas chemistry examination method defects, tunable diode laser absorption spectrum technology (TDLAS) was used. It used an isolated absorption spectrum of the gas molecule to measure the gas absorption spectrum in order to distinguish the gas conveniently. The second harmonic (20 was measured in this system. Due to the fact which the harmonious signal is proportional to the concentration of the absorption gas, the gas concentration may be obtained through examining harmonious signal. The theoretical analysis and the experimental result indicate that under the same level of pressure, survey with the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of 2fsignal increases the accuracy by one order of magnitude and may reach 10 ^-3 and the sensitivity may reach the 10^-6 level compared to that of direct absorption. 5% methane density and a 30 cm absorption cell were used in the experiment. It has several advantages including high sensitivity, best resolution, and faster response and so on. The gas concentration monitoring of coal mine may be accomplished. 展开更多

The results indicate that the biofilter achieves a steady methane removal capacity of 1 470 mg/(Loh) after 30 days start-up. More than 90% of the methane can be removed with an empty bed retention time (EBRT) of 5.6 min when the inlet concentration of methane (IMC) is lower than 70 mg/L (10%, V/V) and about 80% when IMC is at 105 mg/L (15%, V/V). The biofilter is still a reliable method to control methane concentration as an auxiliary means to boost coal mine production safety together with aggrandized ventilation and drainage technologies, even though the removal efficiency of methane is not very satisfactory with a high IMC (〉10%) or a short EBRT (〈3.8 min). 展开更多

Adopted the distribution feedback type (DFB) laser to measure the coal mine gas methane, according to the methane located 1.6 μm nearby 2v3 with a R9 direct absorption spectrum, attraction wire intensity of each line was calculated through the multi-line Voigt fitting. The experimental result indicates that in the obtained four attraction recover of wire, the maximum deviation is 2.7%, and the minimum deviation is 0.02%, other results are all in experimental error scope. This research method may apply in the spectrum survey methane gas density, it has characteristics including high precision, strong selectivity, fast response and so on. 展开更多

The environmental challenges from coal mining include coal mine accidents,land subsidence,damage to the water environment,mining waste disposal and air pollution.These are either environmental pollution or landscape change.A conceptual framework for solving mine environmental issues is proposed.Clean processes,or remediation measures,are designed to address environmental pollution.Restoration measures are proposed to handle landscape change.The total methane drainage from 56 Chinese high methane concentration coal mines is about 101.94 million cubic meters.Of this methane,19.32 million,35.58 million and 6.97 million cubic meters are utilized for electricity generation,civil fuel supplies and other industrial purposes,respectively.About 39% of the methane is emitted into the atmosphere.The production of coal mining wastes can be decreased 10% by reuse of mining wastes as underground fills,or by using the waste as fuel for power plants or for raw material to make bricks or other infrastructure materials.The proper use of mined land must be decided in terms of local physical and socio-economical conditions.In European countries more than 50% of previously mined lands are reclaimed as forest or grass lands.However,in China more than 70% of the mined lands are reclaimed for agricultural purposes because the large population and a shortage of farmlands make this necessary.Reconstruction of rural communities or native residential improvement is one environmental problem arising from mining.We suggest two ways to reconstruct a farmer's house in China. 展开更多

Measurement of the volume of gas adsorbed per unit mass of coal with increasing pressure at a constant temperature produces an isotherm that describes the gas storage capacity of this type of coal. The accurate testing and interpretation of coal sorption isotherm plays an important role in the areas of coal mine methane drainage, coalbed methane (CBM) reservoir resource assessment, enhanced coalbed methane (ECBM) recovery, as well as the carbon dioxide (CO2) sequestration in deep coal seams or similar geological formations. Different coal sorption isotherm testing apparatus and associated calculation methods are critically reviewed and presented in this paper. These include both volumetric and gravimetric based methods, as well as experimental sorption tests with confining stress and direction sorption methods. The volumetric techniques utilise experimental apparatus with sample cell and injection pump and that with both sample cell and reference cell. Whilst the gravimetric approachesinclude methods with sample cell and suspension magnetic balance and that with both sample cell and reference cell. Different testing methods are compared and discussed in this study. A unique in-house-built coal sorption isotherm testing apparatus at the University of Wollongong was presented together with the calculation method, procedures and experimental results. The isotherm results can be calculated by both Soave-Redlich-Kwong (SRK) equation and calibration cure methods which can be used directly to convert the volume of adsorbed gas in different test conditions to standard condition (NTP). 展开更多
