Replica analyses focus on analytically studying how the minimum mean square error (MMSE) channel estimation error appears in a multiuser channel capacity formula. And the relevant mathematical expressions are derived. At the same time, numerical simulation results are demonstrated to validate the Replica analyses. The simulation results show how the system parameters, such as channel estimation error, system load and signal-to-noise ratio, affect the channel capacity.展开更多
The numbers of multimedia applications and their users increase with each passing day.Different multi-carrier systems have been developed along with varying techniques of space-time coding to address the demand of the...The numbers of multimedia applications and their users increase with each passing day.Different multi-carrier systems have been developed along with varying techniques of space-time coding to address the demand of the future generation of network systems.In this article,a fuzzy logic empowered adaptive backpropagation neural network(FLeABPNN)algorithm is proposed for joint channel and multi-user detection(CMD).FLeABPNN has two stages.The first stage estimates the channel parameters,and the second performsmulti-user detection.The proposed approach capitalizes on a neuro-fuzzy hybrid systemthat combines the competencies of both fuzzy logic and neural networks.This study analyzes the results of using FLeABPNN based on a multiple-input andmultiple-output(MIMO)receiver with conventional partial oppositemutant particle swarmoptimization(POMPSO),total-OMPSO(TOMPSO),fuzzy logic empowered POMPSO(FL-POMPSO),and FL-TOMPSO-based MIMO receivers.The FLeABPNN-based receiver renders better results than other techniques in terms of minimum mean square error,minimum mean channel error,and bit error rate.展开更多

This paper...Characterization of a mobile radio channel plays an important role in designing a reliable wireless communication system. Such channels are analyzed by two state model, namely satisfactory and outage state. This paper presents the analysis to estimate fading parameters of wireless channel with omission of certain outage durations which are considered as “Tolerance time”. Minimum outage duration which can be tolerated by a wireless fading channel to achieve desired packet error rate is defined as tolerance time. Normally a system with tolerable minimum outage time is analyzed based on Fade Duration Distribution (FDD) function over Rayleigh channel. In this paper Weibull function is used as FDD for varying tolerance time. The approach is simple and in general applicable from Rayleigh to Nakagami channels. The analysis is extended to study the effect of Tolerance time on channel fading statistics such as Average Fade Duration (AFD) and frequency of outage. Further the effects of various fade margin and Doppler spread on fading parameters are also investigated. The analysis can also be used in case of timeout expiration, connection resetting and congestion window control.展开更多
The channel estimation technique is investigated in OFDM communication systems with multi-antenna Amplify-and-Forward(AF) relay.The Space-Time Block Code(STBC) is applied at the transmitter of the relay to obtain dive...The channel estimation technique is investigated in OFDM communication systems with multi-antenna Amplify-and-Forward(AF) relay.The Space-Time Block Code(STBC) is applied at the transmitter of the relay to obtain diversity gain.According to the transmission characteristics of OFDM symbols on multiple antennas,a pilot-aided Linear Minimum Mean-Square-Error(LMMSE) channel estimation algorithm with low complexity is designed.Simulation results show that,the proposed LMMSE estimator outperforms least-square estimator and approaches the optimal estimator without error in the performance of Symbol Error Ratio(SER) under several modulation modes,and has a good estimation effect in the realistic relay communication scenario.展开更多
