Objective:To explore the influence of applying educational animated film as continuous post-discharge rehabilitation guidance for patients after total hip arthroplasty(THA).Methods:Sixty patients discharged after THA were randomly divided into two groups.Traditional methods, such as distributing manuals of rehabilitation guidance on THA and phone call follow-ups,were adopted in the control group, whereas educational animated film was used as continuous rehabilitation guidance after discharge in the experimental group.Differences in recovery of hip joint function, accuracy of functional exercise, mastery of rehabilitation knowledge and quality of life between the two groups were compared. Results:The experimental group had superior performance on all indicators compared to the control group(P〈0.05).Conclusions:The use of educational animated film as continuous post-discharge rehabilitation guidance in patients after THA achieved better effects than traditional education methods. 展开更多

This research focuses on the impact of family's human capital on social mobility in China's rural community.Empirical research is conducted based on data from surveying a typical rural community in the past 20 yr.The study indicates that social mobility in rural area is active in the past 20 yr,and the human capital of family, represented by primary labor's education level, has played an essential role in mobility of low social class.Meanwhile,socio-economic development and the change of supply and demand in labor market dims the signaling role of degree education, but the impact of occupational training is increasingly remarkable. Therefore, the change from sole degree education to multi-leveled education including occupational education and training is a main way for China's rural families in low class to realize social mobility. 展开更多

This paper studies the impact of an increase in higher education tuition on intergenerational mobility in China. We develop a theoretical model for the parental decision about the investment on education of children to illustrate the impact from the perspective of borrowing constraint. We consider the Chinese college tuition and subsidy reform around 1986 as a quasi-natural experiment for identifying the policy effect of the reform on intergenerational educational mobility by using the data from the census of 2000 and the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS).We find that an increase in the education burden induced by the reform of college tuition has reduced intergenerational educational mobility, and it is more noticeable in regions with a relatively higher increment in the tuition fee.Our results are robust with consideration of the co-residence bias, government investment in elementary education, and the higher education expansion. 展开更多

With the rise of educational mobilities worldwide, students’experiences of educational sojourn, especially that of the Chinese Mainland students, have come under greater research attention in recent years.Amongst diverse kinds of Chinese students/scholars abroad, this paper focuses on a type that finds themselves in a unique country under equally unique circumstances:Chinese students studying at pre-and undergraduate levels in Singapore under Singapore’s government-sponsored“foreign talent”scholarship schemes.Based on an ethnographic study conducted over a 16-month period in China and Singapore, this paper presents an overview account of these Chinese student-scholars’sociocultural experiences in Singapore under three headings:(1)privilege-how Singapore’s“foreign talent”policy endows considerable privileges, opportunities, but also responsibilities on these Chinese students;(2)prejudice-how and why these PRC“foreign talents”encounter certain local discourses of discrimination and exclusion;and(3)predicament-how they sometimes experience complex and conflicted feelings about being made Singapore’s“foreign talent.” 展开更多

International student mobility is an important indicator of the internationalization of higher education, and an important way to cultivate talents with global has had a huge impact on the mobility of international students.Specifically, the scale of international student mobility has decreased, changes in the geographic pattern of international student mobility have intensified, the form of international student mobility has changed, and the competition in the international study abroad market has intensified. As a major country that sends and receives international students,China has adopted a series of response measures to reduce the impact of the pandemic on international student mobility and has formulated a long-term development strategy to promote the mobility of international students. To promote international student mobility in the post-epidemic period countries should provide support for international students from home and abroad, promote the diversification of international student mobility, and strengthen internationalization at home. 展开更多
