Web service(WS)presents a good solution to the interoperability of different types of systems that aims to reduce the overhead of high processing in a resource-limited environment.With the increasing demand for mobile...Web service(WS)presents a good solution to the interoperability of different types of systems that aims to reduce the overhead of high processing in a resource-limited environment.With the increasing demand for mobile WS(MWS),the WS discovery process has become a significant challenging point in the WS lifecycle that aims to identify the relevant MWSs that best match the service requests.This discovery process is a resource-consuming task that cannot be performed efficiently in a mobile computing environment due to the limitations of mobile devices.Meanwhile,a cloud computing can provide rich computing resources for mobile environments given its unlimited and easily scalable resources.This paper proposes a semantic WS discovery and invocation framework in mobile environments based on cloud and a relationship-aware matchmaking algorithm.The discovery algorithm enriches MWS and user requests semantically with the functional and non-functional properties of Ontology Web Language for Services,such as Quality of Web Service,device context,and user preferences.The WS repository is filtered based on logical reasoning and a parameter-based matching algorithm to minimize the matching space and improve runtime performance.The cosine similarity between the user request and services repository is then assessed to generate the most relevant WS.The relationships among concepts in the ontology are considered to improve the recall and precision ratio.After the WS discovery process,users can invoke and test these services in a mobile environment through a dynamic user interface.The interface of the invocation process is changed according to the WS description document.An application prototype is also developed to evaluate the framework based on a Cordova cross-mobile development framework.展开更多

A theoretical model including the perceived risk associated with the activity tar...The purpose of this study is to investigate empirically the role of consumer perceived risks in the adoption of mobile health services. A theoretical model including the perceived risk associated with the activity targeted by a mobile health service and the perceived risk associated with the mobile service itself was developed and tested empirically in the context of an application supporting smoking cessation. The model was validated in a cross-sectional experiment conducted with 422 consumers in the UK and Canada. Findings show that while risk triggered by the nature of a health promotion activity is a strong driver of the adoption of the supporting mobile health service, risk related to the actual application targeting that activity is a comparatively weaker obstacle. The two contrasting risk perspectives are highly significant as they together explain over 31% of the variance in consumer intention to use the mobile health service, independently from other adoption factors. Overall, this study demonstrates that consumer risk perceptions alone are a multifaceted and meaningful component in mobile health services adoption, and that this element should not be overlooked in more complex research models.展开更多

Design/methodology/approach: Drawing on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), and integrating perceived enjoyment, we put forward a theoretical research model of factors affecting continuance intention of mobile reading. Using 186 valid data collected through a questionnaire survey, we conducted data analysis with the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings: The results show that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and perceived enjoyment all have positive impacts on continuance intention. Among them, perceived enjoyment has the most significant effect on continuance intention, followed by performance expectancy. In addition, effort expectancy significantly influences perceived enjoyment. Contrary to our expectation, facilitating conditions have no impact on continuance intention. Practical implications: This study could help mobile data service providers to foster users' continuous usage of mobile reading. Research limitations: This study focused only on the effect of perceived enjoyment as an internal motivation on continuance intention of mobile reading, and other possible factors were not considered. Also, continuance intention may be different from the actual behavior. Furthermore, data of student users was collected from one university in China, and was cross-sectional, while working samples were not considered. Originality value: This study considers the effects of both external and internal motivation on continuance intention of mobile reading. Purpose:Based on the understanding of the characteristics of mobile services(m-services)provided by libraries,we attempt to develop a multidimensional and hierarchical model and a specifically designed measurement sca...Purpose:Based on the understanding of the characteristics of mobile services(m-services)provided by libraries,we attempt to develop a multidimensional and hierarchical model and a specifically designed measurement scale for the assessment of libraries' m-service quality.Design/methodology/approach:The research has been conducted sequentially in two stages.At the first stage,a multidimensional and hierarchical model of library m-service quality and a measurement scale are developed through literature review and focus group interviews.At the second stage the model is tested using partial disaggregation technique for an analysis of the data collected from over 400 library users in 3 Chinese universities.Findings:The proposed model is shown to fit the data well.The empirical analysis provides strong support for the model,which includes 4 dimensions(service environment,service interaction,information control and service effect) and 12 corresponding sub-dimensions.Research limitations:The sample size needs to be enlarged and the user types need to be expanded to make the sample more representative.Practical implications:The study provides a conceptual framework and measurement tool that can help library managers understand the users' needs in the context of mobile network environment,and boost their libraries' competitiveness by carrying out better services to meet the user demands.Originality/value:The proposed model and measurement scale specifically designed for the assessment of libraries' m-service quality fully reflect the hierarchical structure of libraries' m-service quality.In addition,by using partial disaggregation technique for model testing,we believe our research can serve as a practical reference to those engaged in the development and examination of a multidimensional and hierarchical model.展开更多
Mobile bike-sharing services have been prevalently used in many cities as an important urban commuting service and a promising way to build smart cities,especially in the new era of 5G and Internet-of-Things(IoT)envir...Mobile bike-sharing services have been prevalently used in many cities as an important urban commuting service and a promising way to build smart cities,especially in the new era of 5G and Internet-of-Things(IoT)environments.A mobile bike-sharing service makes commuting convenient for people and imparts new vitality to urban transportation systems.In the real world,the problems of no docks or no bikes at bike-sharing stations often arise because of several inevitable reasons such as the uncertainty of bike usage.In addition to pure manual rebalancing,in several works,attempts were made to predict the demand for bikes.In this paper,we devised a bike-sharing service with highly accurate demand prediction using collaborative computing and information fusion.We combined the information of bike demands at different time periods and the locations between stations and proposed a dynamical clustering algorithm for station clustering.We carefully analyzed and discovered the group of features that impact the demand of bikes,from historical bike-sharing records and 5G IoT environment data.We combined the discovered information and proposed an XGBoost-based regression model to predict the rental and return demand.We performed sufficient experiments on two real-world datasets.The results confirm that compared to some existing methods,our method produces superior prediction results and performance and improves the availability of bike-sharing service in 5G IoT environments.展开更多

Mobile location-based services(MLBS)refer to services around geographic location data.Mobile terminals use wireless communication networks(or satellite positioning systems)to obtain users’geographic location coordina...Mobile location-based services(MLBS)refer to services around geographic location data.Mobile terminals use wireless communication networks(or satellite positioning systems)to obtain users’geographic location coordinate information based on spatial databases and integrate with other information to provide users with required location-related services.The development of systems based on MLBS has significance and practical value.In this paper a visualization management information system for personnel in major events based on microservices,namely MEPMIS,is designed and implemented by using MLBS.The system consists of a server and a client app,and it has some functions including map search and query,personnel positioning and scheduling,location management,messaging,and location service.Managers of the events can quickly search and locate the staff on the specific area of the map in real-time,and make broadcasting messages to the staff,and manage the staff.The client app is developed on the Android system,by which staff users can send the positions information to the server timely.The client users can search fuzzily near their peers and list their locations,and also call near peers through sending messages or query the history record of staff locations.In the design of the system,several new proposed techniques,including visual annotation method for overlapping locations,correcting trajectory drift algorithm,microservices-based overall system architecture methodology and other new techniques,which are applied to the implementation of the system.Also,HTML5,JQuery,MLBS APIs(Application Program Interfaces)related programming techniques have been used and combined with loading Ajax asynchronously and Json data encapsulation,map marker optimization techniques,that can improve the positioning accuracy and the performance of the system.The developed system with practical functions can enhance the efficiencies of the organization and management of major events.展开更多
In this paper,a beamforming scheme to improve the coverage in high-speed railway communication systems is investigated.A dedicated coverage model,where the coverage cell is an ellipse rather than the traditional circu...In this paper,a beamforming scheme to improve the coverage in high-speed railway communication systems is investigated.A dedicated coverage model,where the coverage cell is an ellipse rather than the traditional circular or linear,is considered.Based on the elliptical coverage cell,an optimization problem for the beamforming design is formulated to maximize the percentage of railway coverage,subject to the constraints on equal expected designed propagation gain(the gain obtained by a combination of designed beam and propagation channel)on the elliptical curve,i.e.,the expectation of designed propagation gain on the elliptical curve are all equal.Considering that the coverage can be improved by increasing the minimum designed propagation gain on the railway,the problem can be recast to maximizing the equal expected designed propagation gain on the elliptical curve.Subsequently,a beamforming design with an improved β-fairness power allocation,where the optimization problem is formulated to maximize the minimum expected received power over time with the constraints on elliptical cell based beamforming and mobile service amount,is proposed to further improve the coverage.An alternating iteration algorithm is developed to find the optimal beamforming vector and the instantaneous transmit power.Through numerical results,it is found that the beamforming designed on the elliptical curve covers longer railway than beamforming designed on the railway directly,and the coverage of elliptical cell based beamforming can be increased with the eccentricity.In addition,beamforming with the improvedβ-fairness power allocation can further improve the railway coverage and mobile service amount simultaneously.Moreover,it is shown that the larger eccentricity of the ellipse with appropriately chosen BS location,the larger coverage distance.展开更多

文摘Purpose:Based on the understanding of the characteristics of mobile services(m-services)provided by libraries,we attempt to develop a multidimensional and hierarchical model and a specifically designed measurement scale for the assessment of libraries' m-service quality.Design/methodology/approach:The research has been conducted sequentially in two stages.At the first stage,a multidimensional and hierarchical model of library m-service quality and a measurement scale are developed through literature review and focus group interviews.At the second stage the model is tested using partial disaggregation technique for an analysis of the data collected from over 400 library users in 3 Chinese universities.Findings:The proposed model is shown to fit the data well.The empirical analysis provides strong support for the model,which includes 4 dimensions(service environment,service interaction,information control and service effect) and 12 corresponding sub-dimensions.Research limitations:The sample size needs to be enlarged and the user types need to be expanded to make the sample more representative.Practical implications:The study provides a conceptual framework and measurement tool that can help library managers understand the users' needs in the context of mobile network environment,and boost their libraries' competitiveness by carrying out better services to meet the user demands.Originality/value:The proposed model and measurement scale specifically designed for the assessment of libraries' m-service quality fully reflect the hierarchical structure of libraries' m-service quality.In addition,by using partial disaggregation technique for model testing,we believe our research can serve as a practical reference to those engaged in the development and examination of a multidimensional and hierarchical model.

文摘Mobile bike-sharing services have been prevalently used in many cities as an important urban commuting service and a promising way to build smart cities,especially in the new era of 5G and Internet-of-Things(IoT)environments.A mobile bike-sharing service makes commuting convenient for people and imparts new vitality to urban transportation systems.In the real world,the problems of no docks or no bikes at bike-sharing stations often arise because of several inevitable reasons such as the uncertainty of bike usage.In addition to pure manual rebalancing,in several works,attempts were made to predict the demand for bikes.In this paper,we devised a bike-sharing service with highly accurate demand prediction using collaborative computing and information fusion.We combined the information of bike demands at different time periods and the locations between stations and proposed a dynamical clustering algorithm for station clustering.We carefully analyzed and discovered the group of features that impact the demand of bikes,from historical bike-sharing records and 5G IoT environment data.We combined the discovered information and proposed an XGBoost-based regression model to predict the rental and return demand.We performed sufficient experiments on two real-world datasets.The results confirm that compared to some existing methods,our method produces superior prediction results and performance and improves the availability of bike-sharing service in 5G IoT environments.

Research on MUSE will involve the integration of the computing model system,service platform system,operating system and terminal structure system,all of which involve exploration and innovation of a new networking structure,its control and management as well as its measurement. The change in network resources triggers the change in network computing models. To let readers have a basic understanding of MUSE,this lecture introduces MUSE in four sections. This section focuses on the system structure of the MUSE service platform.
文摘With the enforcement of 3G network capabilities in the future, the mobile Internet will greatly change the service modes of traditional Internet, rather than simply combine the Internet with mobile networks. The development of new technologies such as Mashup and mobile widgets will enable better service for users and new business models, bringing benefits for the industrial chain members including operators, vendors, Content Providers/Service Providers (CPs/SPs) and Internet application providers. The mobile Internet and the traditional Internet not only compete for contents and services, but also cooperate with each other; and the mobile Internet services should focus on mobile applications to avoid the homogenization with traditional Internet service.

文摘Mobile location-based services(MLBS)refer to services around geographic location data.Mobile terminals use wireless communication networks(or satellite positioning systems)to obtain users’geographic location coordinate information based on spatial databases and integrate with other information to provide users with required location-related services.The development of systems based on MLBS has significance and practical value.In this paper a visualization management information system for personnel in major events based on microservices,namely MEPMIS,is designed and implemented by using MLBS.The system consists of a server and a client app,and it has some functions including map search and query,personnel positioning and scheduling,location management,messaging,and location service.Managers of the events can quickly search and locate the staff on the specific area of the map in real-time,and make broadcasting messages to the staff,and manage the staff.The client app is developed on the Android system,by which staff users can send the positions information to the server timely.The client users can search fuzzily near their peers and list their locations,and also call near peers through sending messages or query the history record of staff locations.In the design of the system,several new proposed techniques,including visual annotation method for overlapping locations,correcting trajectory drift algorithm,microservices-based overall system architecture methodology and other new techniques,which are applied to the implementation of the system.Also,HTML5,JQuery,MLBS APIs(Application Program Interfaces)related programming techniques have been used and combined with loading Ajax asynchronously and Json data encapsulation,map marker optimization techniques,that can improve the positioning accuracy and the performance of the system.The developed system with practical functions can enhance the efficiencies of the organization and management of major events.

文摘In this paper,a beamforming scheme to improve the coverage in high-speed railway communication systems is investigated.A dedicated coverage model,where the coverage cell is an ellipse rather than the traditional circular or linear,is considered.Based on the elliptical coverage cell,an optimization problem for the beamforming design is formulated to maximize the percentage of railway coverage,subject to the constraints on equal expected designed propagation gain(the gain obtained by a combination of designed beam and propagation channel)on the elliptical curve,i.e.,the expectation of designed propagation gain on the elliptical curve are all equal.Considering that the coverage can be improved by increasing the minimum designed propagation gain on the railway,the problem can be recast to maximizing the equal expected designed propagation gain on the elliptical curve.Subsequently,a beamforming design with an improved β-fairness power allocation,where the optimization problem is formulated to maximize the minimum expected received power over time with the constraints on elliptical cell based beamforming and mobile service amount,is proposed to further improve the coverage.An alternating iteration algorithm is developed to find the optimal beamforming vector and the instantaneous transmit power.Through numerical results,it is found that the beamforming designed on the elliptical curve covers longer railway than beamforming designed on the railway directly,and the coverage of elliptical cell based beamforming can be increased with the eccentricity.In addition,beamforming with the improvedβ-fairness power allocation can further improve the railway coverage and mobile service amount simultaneously.Moreover,it is shown that the larger eccentricity of the ellipse with appropriately chosen BS location,the larger coverage distance.
文摘This article provides a framework e within which the revenue-sharing in mobile value-added services can be analyzed. It shows that the revenue-sharing ratio between a network operator and a content provider (CP) has no significant effect on prices, market shales or social welfare in the case of nonstandardization. This implies that the revenue-sharing ratio cannot be used as a policy variable.
