“Flipped Classroom” Teaching Model Research: A Case Study of “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education and Practice (Theory)”

The flipped classroom model differs significantly from the traditional classroom teaching model and offers numerous advantages. This article draws inspiration from the flipped classroom concept, using the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education and Practice (Theory)” course as an example to introduce the innovation and characteristics of the flipped classroom model: it is problem-oriented, addressing the “pain points” in teaching, motivating students towards “active learning,” and integrating diverse teaching methods. In the conclusion, the article proposed suggestions on the application of this model, encouraging teachers to summarize their teaching experiences, enhance their knowledge base, and foster students’ awareness of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Attenuate Class Imbalance Problem for Pneumonia Diagnosis Using Ensemble Parallel Stacked Pre-Trained Models

Pneumonia is an acute lung infection that has caused many fatalitiesglobally. Radiologists often employ chest X-rays to identify pneumoniasince they are presently the most effective imaging method for this purpose.Computer-aided diagnosis of pneumonia using deep learning techniques iswidely used due to its effectiveness and performance. In the proposed method,the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) approach is usedto eliminate the class imbalance in the X-ray dataset. To compensate forthe paucity of accessible data, pre-trained transfer learning is used, and anensemble Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model is developed. Theensemble model consists of all possible combinations of the MobileNetv2,Visual Geometry Group (VGG16), and DenseNet169 models. MobileNetV2and DenseNet169 performed well in the Single classifier model, with anaccuracy of 94%, while the ensemble model (MobileNetV2+DenseNet169)achieved an accuracy of 96.9%. Using the data synchronous parallel modelin Distributed Tensorflow, the training process accelerated performance by98.6% and outperformed other conventional approaches.

Accounting for Heterogeneity in Stop Frequency Models of Work Tours Using Latent Class Poisson Models

Stop frequency models, as one of the elements of activity based models, represent an important part of travel behavior. Unobserved heterogeneity across the travelers should be taken into consideration to prevent biasedness and inconsistency in the estimated parameters in the stop frequency models. Additionally, previous studies on the stop frequency have mostly been done in larger metropolitan areas and less attention has been paid to the areas with less population. This study addresses these gaps by using 2012 travel data from a medium sized U.S. urban area using the work tour for the case study. Stop in the work tour were classified into three groups of outbound leg, work based subtour, and inbound leg of the commutes. Latent Class Poisson Regression Models were used to analyze the data. The results indicate the presence of heterogeneity across the commuters. Using latent class models significantly improves the predictive power of the models compared to regular one class Poisson regression models. In contrast to one class Poisson models, gender becomes insignificant in predicting the number of tours when unobserved heterogeneity is accounted for. The commuters are associated with increased stops on their work based subtour when the employment density of service-related occupations increases in their work zone, but employment density of retail employment does not significantly contribute to the stop making likelihood of the commuters. Additionally, an increase in the number of work tours was associated with fewer stops on the inbound leg of the commute. The results of this study suggest the consideration of unobserved heterogeneity in the stop frequency models and help transportation agencies and policy makers make better inferences from such models.

基于SPOC联合Flipped Class在生物化学实验课程的应用

目的:探讨基于SPOC联合Flipped Class在生物化学实验教学中的课堂效果。方法:选取皖南医学院2020级60名助产学本科生为研究对象,其中30名学生应用SPOC联合Flipped Class教学法(实验组),30名学生采用传统教学法(对照组)。通过课程结束考核及问卷满意度调查两种评价模式评价教学效果。结果:实验组闭卷理论测试成绩(85.68±6.27分)显著高于对照组(72.56±5.32分)(P <0.05);实验操作成绩(89.15±4.33分)也显著高于对照组(69.67±9.46分)(P <0.05);SPOC联合Flipped Class的教学效果满意度更高。结论:SPOC联合Flipped Class教学模式在生物化学实验教学中具有良好的教学优势与效果。

Flipped Classroom模式在汽车构造教学中的应用研究

《汽车构造》是高等院校车辆工程专业及汽车专业的关键专业课程,在传统的教学模式下,一直存在课时内信息量大学生掌握困难、直观认识不足、学生学习兴趣低、学生基础不同接受能力差异大、教学效果差别大的问题。Flipped Classroom模式是一种将学习的决定权从教师转移给学生的全新的教学模式。针对汽车构造课程内容繁多复杂、且兼具较强的理论性和实践性等特点,分析了Flipped Classroom模式在汽车构造教学中可以带来的优势,提出了在汽车构造教学中的应用规范,为汽车构造教学提供了一种新的参考模式。

Application of Mobile Learning and Flipped Classroom Model in English Listening Course

A Study on the Flipped Class Mode of Medical English Reading Based on WeChat Platform

This article aims to introduce the design concept and implementation methods of the flipped class of medical English reading based on We Chat platform in order to explore problems and solutions existing in the teaching. Based on typical characteristics of the flipped class, college students' addiction for smartphones and the appropriateness and convenience of We Chat, it is implemented with the help of We Chat. It can be divided into three steps to implement: pre-class, in-class and post-class. However, to a certain extent, this kind of teaching mode is limited by students' self-consciousness, enthusiasm, language foundation,self-learning ability and teachers' guidance. Focusing on the above problems, the author gives the relevant solutions.

Research and Exploration of Blended Learning Based on Flipped Classroom and PAD Class

This paper combines two teaching methods-flipped classroom and PAD class-and applies it to the teaching reform of the Construction Project Management course.Passive learning has been replaced by autonomous learning,the dominant position of students in classroom learning is highlighted,and students are liberated from the traditional passive acceptance-type learning.This improves the effectiveness of teacher-student interaction and student mutual aid,enhances students’enthusiasm to participate in the classroom,and ultimately improves the effect of classroom teaching as well as realizes the personalized development of students.

The Design Principles of Micro-Video Production and In-Class Activities on the Base of Flipped Classroom

Flipped classroom is a brand-new teaching mode both at home and abroad. Its core is to reverse teaching sequence and teaching content by letting students watch self-made videos to learn relatively junior teaching content before class, thus leaving students adequate space to exert full activities in the classroom to complete knowledge absorption and consolidation. This article focus mainly on the design principles and relevant experiences of video production. In the meanwhile, the article also puts forward instructive suggestions for teachers to make appealing and stylistic videos as well as mobilize the enthusiasm of students.Video as the stepping stone only serves as a media to convey knowledge before class, the class is the core to convert students' traditional role to be the real master by a series of effective activities, which should be carefully designed by teachers. So the second focus of the articles falls on the design principles of in-class activities.

Application of Continuation Task to Improve English Writing in Flipped Class——Corpus-based EFL Students’ CIA Research

This research tries to employ the method of continuation task of L2-English writing in flipped class.It will combine reading with writing,build creative use of language on imitation and enables learners to immediately use what are learned,which will integrate language production with language comprehension and enhance use of learned L2 forms.This continuation task of L2-English writing method tries to work out how L2 learning is motivated more by tasks with contents created by others than by learners'own needs to use the target language and to what extent L2 learners’interlanguage is aligned with the input text in a story continuation task of L2-English writing and how to develop the native-like patterns through explicit instruction and implicit learning.

“Flipped Class Model”在《现代机床》中的实践与思考

翻转课堂通过对知识传授和知识内化的颠倒安排,改变了传统教学中的师生角色,并对课堂时间的使用进行了重新规划,实现了对传统教学模式的革新。文中尝试将"Flipped Class Model"用于现代机械创新产品分析与设计教学中,并以《现代机床》为例分析说明,以期为我国的机械课程教学改革提供借鉴。

Research of“Social Network Database System”Based on Flipped Classroom

Social network database system is a computer professional basic course.It is widely opened in engineering universities.However,teaching student to understand esoteric network database theory and master practical technology are a difficult problem.In this paper,we combine the prevalent at home and abroad flipped classroom teaching philosophy,and designed a model for teaching computer science students to learn social network database system.The model uses a new generation of information technology as a platform,and takings into account the flip classroom theory.This model fully embodies the“teacher assisted,student independent learning“teaching thinking,and effectively stimulates student interest in learning.The practical results show that the teaching model can enhance student achievement and the ability to solve practical problems.

Universality Class in Abelian Sandpile Models with Stochastic Toppling Rules

We present a stochastic critical slope sandpile model, where the amount of grains that fall in an overturning event is stochastic variable. The model is local, conservative, and Abelian. We apply the moment analysis to evaluate critical exponents and finite size scaling method to consistently test the obtained results. Numerical results show that this model, Oslo model, and one-dimensional Abelian Manna model have the same critical behavior although the three models have different stochastic toppling rules, which provides evidences suggesting that Abelian sandpile models with different stochastic toppling rules are in the same universality class.
