Control charts are one of the tools in statistical process control widely used for monitoring,measuring,controlling,improving the quality,and detecting problems in processes in variousfields.The average run length(ARL)...Control charts are one of the tools in statistical process control widely used for monitoring,measuring,controlling,improving the quality,and detecting problems in processes in variousfields.The average run length(ARL)can be used to determine the efficacy of a control chart.In this study,we develop a new modified exponentially weighted moving average(EWMA)control chart and derive explicit formulas for both one and the two-sided ARLs for a p-order autoregressive(AR(p))process with exponential white noise on the new modified EWMA control chart.The accuracy of the explicit formulas was compared to that of the well-known numerical integral equation(NIE)method.Although both methods were highly consistent with an absolute percentage difference of less than 0.00001%,the ARL using the explicit formulas method could be computed much more quickly.Moreover,the performance of the explicit formulas for the ARL on the new modified EWMA control chart was better than on the modified and standard EWMA control charts based on the relative mean index(RMI).In addition,to illustrate the applicability of using the proposed explicit formulas for the ARL on the new modified EWMA control chart in practice,the explicit formulas for the ARL were also applied to a process with real data from the energy and agriculturalfields.展开更多
Lignin,lignosulfonate,and synthesized phosphorylated lignosulfonate were introduced as greenfillers in citric acid-sucrose adhesives for bonding particleboard fabricated from areca leaf sheath(ALS).The characteristics ...Lignin,lignosulfonate,and synthesized phosphorylated lignosulfonate were introduced as greenfillers in citric acid-sucrose adhesives for bonding particleboard fabricated from areca leaf sheath(ALS).The characteristics of particleboards were compared to that of ultralow emitting formaldehyde(ULEF-UF).Thefillers derived from Eucalyptus spp.kraft-lignin were added forflame retardancy enhancement.10%of each lignin and modified lig-nin was added into the ULEF-UF and citric acid-sucrose bonded particleboards.Analyses applied to particle-boards included thermal characteristics,X-ray diffraction analysis(XRD),morphological properties,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),as well as physical,mechanical,andfire resistance characteristics of the laboratory-fabricated particleboards.Lignin and modified lignin resulted in improved thermal stability of the composites bonded with ULEF-UF while the improvement in the particleboard bonded with citric acid-sucrose was not significant.The introduction offiller exerted a higher influence on the UF-bonded particleboards compared to composites fabricated with citric acid-sucrose.Generally,the presence of lignin,lignosulfonate,and phosphorylated lignosulfonate enhanced the mechanical strength of the ULEF-bonded particleboards,although their dimensional stability has deteriorated.Markedly,the use of lignin and lignosulfonate enhanced thefire resis-tance of the particleboards produced with lower observed weight loss.All laboratory particleboards exhibited satisfactoryfire resistance,attaining a V-0 rating in according to the UL-94 standard.展开更多

Recent developments in computer vision applications have enabled detection of significant visual objects in video streams.Studies quoted in literature have detected objects from video streams using Spatiotemporal Parti...Recent developments in computer vision applications have enabled detection of significant visual objects in video streams.Studies quoted in literature have detected objects from video streams using Spatiotemporal Particle Swarm Optimization(SPSOM)and Incremental Deep Convolution Neural Networks(IDCNN)for detecting multiple objects.However,the study considered opticalflows resulting in assessing motion contrasts.Existing methods have issue with accuracy and error rates in motion contrast detection.Hence,the overall object detection performance is reduced significantly.Thus,consideration of object motions in videos efficiently is a critical issue to be solved.To overcome the above mentioned problems,this research work proposes a method involving ensemble approaches to and detect objects efficiently from video streams.This work uses a system modeled on swarm optimization and ensemble learning called Spatiotemporal Glowworm Swarm Optimization Model(SGSOM)for detecting multiple significant objects.A steady quality in motion contrasts is maintained in this work by using Chebyshev distance matrix.The proposed system achieves global optimization in its multiple object detection by exploiting spatial/temporal cues and local constraints.Its experimental results show that the proposed system scores 4.8%in Mean Absolute Error(MAE)while achieving 86%in accuracy,81.5%in precision,85%in recall and 81.6%in F-measure and thus proving its utility in detecting multiple objects.展开更多
The Kortewegde Vries(KdV)equation represents the propagation of long waves in dispersive media,whereas the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger(CNLS)equation depicts the dynamics of narrow-bandwidth wave packets consistin...The Kortewegde Vries(KdV)equation represents the propagation of long waves in dispersive media,whereas the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger(CNLS)equation depicts the dynamics of narrow-bandwidth wave packets consisting of short dispersive waves.A model that couples these two equations seems in-triguing for simulating the interaction of long and short waves,which is important in many domains of applied sciences and engineering,and such a system has been investigated in recent decades.This work uses a modified Sardar sub-equation procedure to secure the soliton-type solutions of the generalized cubic nonlinear Schrödinger-Korteweg-de Vries system of equations.For various selections of arbitrary parameters in these solutions,the dynamic properties of some acquired solutions are represented graph-ically and analyzed.In particular,the dynamics of the bright solitons,dark solitons,mixed bright-dark solitons,W-shaped solitons,M-shaped solitons,periodic waves,and other soliton-type solutions.Our re-sults demonstrated that the proposed technique is highly efficient and effective for the aforementioned problems,as well as other nonlinear problems that may arise in the fields of mathematical physics and engineering.展开更多

However, data on its prevalence in China are largely missing. Here, we assessed the suitability of the modi?ed Chinese version of a newly-developed ASD screening tool, the Modi?ed Chinese Autism Spectrum Rating Scales(MC-ASRS) in screening for ASD in Chi nese children aged 6–12 years, through comparison with the Social Responsiveness Scale(SRS) that has been widely used for ASD screening. We recruited the par ents/caregivers of 1588 typically-developing children and190 children with ASD aged 6–12 years to complete the MC-ASRS and SRS, and evaluated the validity of both scales in discriminating children with ASD from those developing typically. The results showed that MC-ASRSperformed as well as SRS in sensitivity, speci?city, and area-under-the-curve(both [0.95) in receiver operating characteristic analysis, with a fair false-negative rate.These results suggest that MC-ASRS is a promising tool for screening for children with ASD in the general Chinese population.展开更多

Fuel is a very important factor and has considerable influence on the air quality in the environment,which is the heart of the world.The increase of vehi-cles in lived-in areas results in greater emission of carbon par...Fuel is a very important factor and has considerable influence on the air quality in the environment,which is the heart of the world.The increase of vehi-cles in lived-in areas results in greater emission of carbon particles in the envir-onment.Adulterated fuel causes more contaminated particles to mix with breathing air and becomes the main source of dangerous pollution.Adulteration is the mixing of foreign substances in fuel,which damages vehicles and causes more health problems in living beings such as humans,birds,aquatic life,and even water resources by emitting high levels of hydrocarbons,nitrogen oxides,and carbon monoxide.Most frequent blending liquids are lubricants and kerosene in the petrol,and its adulteration is a considerable problem that adds to environ-mental pollution.This study focuses on detecting the adulteration in petrol using sensors and machine learning algorithms.A modified evanescent wave opticalfiber sensor with discrete wavelet transform is proposed for classification of adult-erated data from the samples.Furthermore,support vector machine classifier is used for accurate categorization.The sensor isfirst tested with fuel and numerical data is classified based on machine learning algorithms.Finally,the result is eval-uated with less error and high accuracy of 99.9%,which is higher than all existing techniques.展开更多
As one of the popular non-classical continuum theories in functionally graded material(FGM)nanostructures,the modified nonlocal theory(MNT)has been applied in various mechanical problems.However,due to the difficult s...As one of the popular non-classical continuum theories in functionally graded material(FGM)nanostructures,the modified nonlocal theory(MNT)has been applied in various mechanical problems.However,due to the difficult solution process,the original integral formulation of MNT(IMNT)is transformed into a differential formulation of MNT(DMNT),which results in an inevitable approximation error.To clarify the consistency and difference between two formulations,the Lamb wave characteristics in viscoelastic FGM nanoplates are investigated.Two mathematical models are established based on the IMNT and DMNT,and solved by the proposed displacement-based and strain-based Legendre polynomial series approaches(LPSAs),respectively.Comparisons with the available data verify the validates of the presented LPSAs.Numerical examples indicate that the results from the DMNT and IMNT are significantly different at high frequencies.Several important differences are discovered.For example,the escape frequency only appears in the results from DMNT,but not in IMNT.In addition to comparing with classical structures,more attention should be paid to the attenuation characteristics of nonlocal nanostructures.展开更多
Nonlinear fractional differential equations provide suitable models to describe real-world phenomena and many fractional derivatives are varying with time and space.The present study considers the advanced and broad s...Nonlinear fractional differential equations provide suitable models to describe real-world phenomena and many fractional derivatives are varying with time and space.The present study considers the advanced and broad spectrum of the nonlinear(NL)variable-order fractional differential equation(VO-FDE)in sense of VO Caputo fractional derivative(CFD)to describe the physical models.The VO-FDE transforms into an ordinary differential equation(ODE)and then solving by the modified(G/G)-expansion method.For ac-curacy,the space-time VO fractional Korteweg-de Vries(KdV)equation is solved by the proposed method and obtained some new types of periodic wave,singular,and Kink exact solutions.The newly obtained solutions confirmed that the proposed method is well-ordered and capable implement to find a class of NL-VO equations.The VO non-integer performance of the solutions is studied broadly by using 2D and 3D graphical representation.The results revealed that the NL VO-FDEs are highly active,functional and convenient in explaining the problems in scientific physics.展开更多
Magnesium oxysulfate whisker(MOSW) was produced using magnesite and sulfuric acid as raw materials by hydrothermal method and further modified by taking zinc stearate as modifier via wet chemical method.The infiuenc...Magnesium oxysulfate whisker(MOSW) was produced using magnesite and sulfuric acid as raw materials by hydrothermal method and further modified by taking zinc stearate as modifier via wet chemical method.The infiuences of the amount of modifier, slurry concentration, modification duration, modification temperature and the stirring rate on the surface modification were investigated. The effects of surface modification in functional groups, morphology and electron binding energies of surface elements of MOSW were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The mechanism of modification was analyzed by studying the microstructure model of the surface of MOSW, which was modified by zinc stearate. The results show that the coordination is generated by the Mg element and O in carboxylic ion of modifier, and the chemical bond could be obtained by modification. Moreover, the surface of MOSW bonds the molecules of zinc stearate, and it becomes rough. Then, the hydrophobicity of MOSW is also improved significantly. In addition, the 1s electron binding energies of Mg and O on the surface of MOSW decrease by1.2 and 0.2 eV, respectively.展开更多

文摘Nonlinear fractional differential equations provide suitable models to describe real-world phenomena and many fractional derivatives are varying with time and space.The present study considers the advanced and broad spectrum of the nonlinear(NL)variable-order fractional differential equation(VO-FDE)in sense of VO Caputo fractional derivative(CFD)to describe the physical models.The VO-FDE transforms into an ordinary differential equation(ODE)and then solving by the modified(G/G)-expansion method.For ac-curacy,the space-time VO fractional Korteweg-de Vries(KdV)equation is solved by the proposed method and obtained some new types of periodic wave,singular,and Kink exact solutions.The newly obtained solutions confirmed that the proposed method is well-ordered and capable implement to find a class of NL-VO equations.The VO non-integer performance of the solutions is studied broadly by using 2D and 3D graphical representation.The results revealed that the NL VO-FDEs are highly active,functional and convenient in explaining the problems in scientific physics.

文摘Magnesium oxysulfate whisker(MOSW) was produced using magnesite and sulfuric acid as raw materials by hydrothermal method and further modified by taking zinc stearate as modifier via wet chemical method.The infiuences of the amount of modifier, slurry concentration, modification duration, modification temperature and the stirring rate on the surface modification were investigated. The effects of surface modification in functional groups, morphology and electron binding energies of surface elements of MOSW were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The mechanism of modification was analyzed by studying the microstructure model of the surface of MOSW, which was modified by zinc stearate. The results show that the coordination is generated by the Mg element and O in carboxylic ion of modifier, and the chemical bond could be obtained by modification. Moreover, the surface of MOSW bonds the molecules of zinc stearate, and it becomes rough. Then, the hydrophobicity of MOSW is also improved significantly. In addition, the 1s electron binding energies of Mg and O on the surface of MOSW decrease by1.2 and 0.2 eV, respectively.
