The results show that the fly ash added into the molten steel slag before air quenching can more effectively improve the slag's grindability than milltailings, which is the other modification agent tested under the same conditions. The role of fly ash is strengthened as its proportion increases, although the degree of promotion is gradually reduced. As a result of the reaction between fly ash and steel slag at high temperature, some new mineral phases and vitreous bodies with fine grindability promote the slag grinding easily. This work is helpful to making a comprehensive utilization of steel slag and maximize its economic efficiency in China.展开更多

The influence of deformation extent (10%-50%), cone angle of die (90 °-120 °), hardness after quenching and tempering (HRC21-29) and lubricated condition on the forming load was analyzed. The results show that there is no central bursting and micro crack in the inner of the extruded specimen, and the forming quality is good. The double-peak phenomenon takes place at the front-end of the specimen; the double-peak index increases with deformation extent, and larger deformation can avoid the double-peak phenomenon. The deformation extent is the most important influencing factor, and the lubricated condition almost has no influence, which means that the phosphate coating plus soap process is still a proper lubrication method for cold extrusion of medium carbon steel after quenching and tempering. By investigating the microscopic structure before and after deformation, the initial equiaxed grain is elongated in the extrusion direction, and this feature is more significant at the front-end of specimen.展开更多

The tempering behavior of this steel was discussed by using experimental finding(scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy and dilatometer) and CCE(constrained carbon equilibrium) modeling. The XRD results combined with CCE calculation prove that carbon partitioning from martensite to austenite occurs during tempering. Consequently, the thermodynamic stability of retained austenite is enhanced. This idea can be utilized to design novel Q-P-T processes in future.展开更多

The results indicate that the Q-P-T steel deformed at various deformation temperatures from -70 to 300 ℃ exhibits superior mechanical properties due to excellent thermal stability of retained austenite. The microstructural characterization by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) reveals that the high strength of the Q-P-T steel results from dislocation-type martensite laths and fcc NbC carbides or/and hcp ε-carbides precipitated dispersively in martensite matrix, while excellent ductility is attributed to the significant transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) effect produced by considerable amount of retained austenite. The relationship between mechanical properties and microstructures at different deformation temperatures was clarified.展开更多

X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that Q-P-T steel has about 10% retained austenite, but Q&T steel hardly has one. With the increase of com- pression strain rate from 7 × 10^2 to 5 × 10^3 s^-1, the flow stress of Q-P-T steel increases, which demonstrates the positive strain rate effect, but does not exist in Q&T steel. The characterization of scanning electron microscopy indicates that a large number of long, straight martensite laths in Q-P-T steel will bend or be destroyed by large compressive strain of 35% at 5 × 10^3 s^-1. However, relative small compressive s^xain of about 5% at 7× 10^2 s^-1 almost does not have any effect on the original lath morphology. The characterization of transmission electron microscopy further reveals the origin of the positive strain rate effect and the microstructural evolution during dynamic compressive deformation.展开更多

By using this process, ultrafine reversed austenite can be obtained at room temperature. The microstructures of the reversed austenite and the martensite matrix were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) in detail. The results show that the ultrafine reversed austenite is enriched in Ni resulting in the austenite stability at room temperature. Two new types of nano-scale carbide precipitates are found in the martensite matrix. In this study, jet shape modifications are quantified in terms of the fragmentation function F(z), relative momentum p_T^(rel), density of charged particles p(r), jet angularity girth, jet momentum dispersion p_T^(disp),and LeS ub for proton-proton(pp) collisions at 0.9, 2.76. 5.02, 7,and 13 TeV, as well as for lead-lead collisions at 2.76 TeV and 5.02 TeV by JEWEL. A differential jet shape parameter Dgirth is proposed and studied at a smaller jet radius r < 0.3. The results indicate that the medium has the dominant effect on jet shape modification, which also has a weak dependence on the center-of-mass energy. Jet fragmentation is enhanced significantly at very low z < 0.02, and fragmented jet constituents are linearly spread to larger jet-radii for p_T^(rel) < 1. The waveform attenuation phenomena is observed in p_T^(rel),girth, and Dgirth distributions. The results obtained for D_(girth) from pp to Pb + Pb, where the wave-like distribution in pp collision is ahead of Pb + Pb collisions at small jetradii, indicates a strong medium effect.展开更多

The effect of direct quenching on the microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated in detail by using optical microscope, transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope equipped with electron backscattered diffraction. The results showed that the microstructures of both the RQ and DQ specimens were complex constituents of lath martensite and lower bainite. Compared with the RQ specimen, the lower bainite content in DQ specimen was much higher. Furthermore, the bainite in the DQ specimen extended into and segmented the prior austenite grains, which can decrease martensite packet size. The proportion of high-angle boundary in the DQ specimen was higher than that in the RQ specimen, which may improve the impact toughness. The carbides in DQ&_T specimen were much finer and distributed even dispersively because direct quenching can retain substantive defects which may provide more nucleation sites for carbide precipitation in the tempering process. Besides, the mechanical properties of DQ and DQ&T specimens were superior than those subjected to RQ and RQ&T processes, respectively.展开更多

Compared with traditional tempering,a fine dispersion of precipitated carbides occurs after induction tempering, which is the main reason for the performance differences.
文摘In order to obtain the desired mechanical properties of connecting bar after quenching and tempering, and reduce the cracking tendency and distortion,a program of controllable quenching was established.Furthermore,a computer-aided quenching (CAQ) system was developed. The applications show satisfactory results.

文摘Jet shape measurements are employed to explore the microscopic evolution mechanisms of parton-medium interaction in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The results obtained for D_(girth) from pp to Pb + Pb, where the wave-like distribution in pp collision is ahead of Pb + Pb collisions at small jetradii, indicates a strong medium effect.

文摘A wear-resistant steel was hot rolled at the same finish temperature, and subsequently treated with conventional reheat quenching and tempering process (RQ&T) and direct quenching and tempering process (DQ&T), respectively. Besides, the mechanical properties of DQ and DQ&T specimens were superior than those subjected to RQ and RQ&T processes, respectively.
