The results reveal that the anti-symmetric nonlinear viscous damping can significantly reduce the force trans- missibility over all resonance regions for MDOF structures with little effect on the transmissibility over non-resonant and isolation regions. The results indicate that the vibration isolators with an anti-symmetric damping characteristic have great potential to solve the dilemma occurring in the design of linear viscously damped vibration isolators where an increase of the damping level reduces the force transmissibility over resonant frequencies but increases the transmissibility over non-resonant frequency regions. This work is an extension of a previous study in which MDOF structures installed on the mount through an isolator with cubic nonlinear damping are considered. The tire and wheel force transmissibility is factor in structure borne road noise performance. In order to improve structure borne noise, it is required to lower the 1st peak frequency of force transmissibility. This paper presents an application of finite element analysis modeling along with experimental verification to predict the force transmissibility of tire and wheel assembly. The results of finite element analysis for force transmissibility are shown to be in good agreement with the results from the indoor test. In order to improve structure borne noise, it is required to lower the 1st peak frequency of force transmissibility. And, the effect of the tire design parameters such as the density and modulus of a rubber and the cord stiffness on the force transmissibility is discussed. It is found that the prediction of the force transmissibility model using finite element analysis will be useful for the improvement of the road noise performance of passenger car tire.展开更多

The second-order wave fo...This paper presents a study on the motion response of a tension-leg platform(TLP) under first-and second-order wave forces, including the mean-drift force, difference and sum-frequency forces. The second-order wave force is calculated using the full-field quadratic transfer function(QTF). The coupled effect of the horizontal motions, such as surge, sway and yaw motions, and the set-down motion are taken into consideration by the nonlinear restoring matrix. The time-domain analysis with 50-yr random sea state is performed. A comparison of the results of different case studies is made to assess the influence of second-order wave force on the motions of the platform. The analysis shows that the second-order wave force has a major impact on motions of the TLP. The second-order difference-frequency wave force has an obvious influence on the low-frequency motions of surge and sway, and also will induce a large set-down motion which is an important part of heave motion. Besides, the second-order sum-frequency force will induce a set of high-frequency motions of roll and pitch. However, little influence of second-order wave force is found on the yaw motion.展开更多

In...The existing research of the motion optimization of multi-axis machine tools is mainly based on geometric and kinematic constraints, which aim at obtaining minimum-time trajectories and finding obstacle-free paths. In motion optimization, the stiffness characteristics of the whole machining system, including machine tool and cutter, are not considered. The paper presents a new method to establish a general stiffness model of multi-axis machining system. An analytical stiffness model is established by Jacobi and point transformation matrix method. Based on the stiffness model, feed-direction stiffness index is calculated by the intersection of force ellipsoid and the cutting feed direction at the cutter tip. The stiffness index can help analyze the stiffness performance of the whole machining system in the available workspace. Based on the analysis of the stiffness performance, multi-axis motion optimization along tool paths is accomplished by mixed programming using Matlab and Visual C++. The effectiveness of the motion optimization method is verified by the experimental research about the machining performance of a 7-axis 5-linkage machine tool. The proposed research showed that machining stability and production efficiency can be improved by multi-axis motion optimization based on the anisotropic force ellipsoid of the whole machining system.展开更多

Firstly, the structure and working principle of the valve are analyzed, and then a dynamic model is set up by means of mechanism analysis. For the purpose of checking the validity of the modeling method, a prototype workpiece of the valve is manufactured for comparison test, and its simulation result follows the experimental result quite well. An associated performance index is founded considering the response time, overshoot and saving energy, and five structural parameters are selected to adjust for deriving the optimal associated performance index. The optimization problem is solved by the genetic algorithm (GA) with necessary constraints. Finally, the properties of the optimized valve are compared with those of the prototype workpiece, and the results prove that the dynamic performance indexes of the optimized valve are much better than those of the prototype workpiece.展开更多

It is significant to achieve the controllability and maneuverability of the vehicle in three dimensions both theoretically and practically on research. Models of angle of attack, gravity and inertial force effects on the supercavity in the horizontal curvilinear motion are established, respectively. The supercavity is simulated based on these models in combination with Logvinovich model and the unsteady gas-leakage rate model at the given ventilation rate, and the effect of the inertial force on it is analyzed numerically. Results show that the maximum deviation of the center line of the cross section of supercavity towards the outward normal direction of its trajectory increases as the cavitation number or curvature radius decrease and always occur in the tail because of the increase of inertial effects along the axis of supercavity from the cavitator when other models and flow parameters are constant for the given trajectory curvature. For the variable curvature, the supercavity sheds due to its instability caused by the time-varying angle of attack. The deviation increases along the length of supercavity if the curvature remains the same sign.展开更多

Recently, we have presented that the ocean water pressure against the wall of continents may generate enormous force on continents. Continents are physically fixed on the top of the lithosphere that has been already broken into individual plates, this attachment enables the force to be laterally transferred to the lithospheric plates. In this study, we combine the force and the existing plate driving forces (i.e., ridge push, slab pull, collisional, and shearing) to account for plate motion. We show that the modelled movements for the South American, African, North American, Eurasian, Australian, Pacific plates are well agreement with the observed movements in both speed and azimuth, with a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of the modelled speed against the observed speed of 0.91, 3.76, 2.77, 2.31, 7.43, and 1.95 mm/yr, respectively.展开更多

To one double- breaker model, measuring the arc current, voltage and force acting on the moving conductor, the characteristics of the ratio of the emerging blow open force over arc power FB/(ui) could be obtained. With the help of a 2-D optical fiber measurement system, to one arc chamber model, arc motion behavior was measured, too. However, this linear model cannot correctly describe the energy transfer process o...The current research on gear system dynamics mainly utilizes linear spring damping model to calculate the contact force between gears. However, this linear model cannot correctly describe the energy transfer process of collision that often occurs in gear system. Focus on the contact-impact events, this paper proposes an improved gear contact force model for dynamic analysis in helical gear transmission system. In this model, a new factor associated with hysteresis damping is developed for contact-impact state, whereas the traditional linear damping factor is utilized for normal meshing state. For determining the selection strategy of these two damping factors, the fundamental contact mechanics of contact-impact event a ected by supporting forces are analyzed. During this analysis, an e ect factor is proposed for evaluating the influence of supporting forces on collision. Meanwhile, a new restitution of coe cient is deduced for calculating hysteresis damping factor, which suitable for both separation and non-separation states at the end of collision. In addition, the time-varying meshing sti ness(TVMS) is obtained based on the potential energy approach and the slice theory. Finally, a dynamic analysis of a helical gear system is carried out to better understand the contact force model proposed in this paper. The analysis results show that the contribution of supporting forces to the dynamic response of contact-impact event within gear pair is important. The supporting forces and dissipative energy are the main reasons for gear system to enter a steady contact state from repeated contact-impact state. This research proposes an improved contact force model which distinguishes meshing and collision states in gear system.展开更多

The developed unified mathematical model of a dynamic system allows, at the design stage, of many branched drive mechanisms, including transmission hydraulic and hydraulic differential actuators, to explore dynamic processes and select rational parameters.
文摘In the process of crowd movement,pedestrians are often affected by their neighbors.In order to describe the consistency of adjacent individuals and collectivity of a group,this paper learns from the rules of the flocking behavior,such as segregation,alignment and cohesion,and proposes a method for crowd motion simulation based on the Boids model and social force model.Firstly,the perception area of individuals is divided into zone of segregation,alignment and cohesion.Secondly,the interactive force among individuals is calculated based upon the zone information,velocity vector and the group information.The interactive force among individuals is the synthesis of three forces:the repulsion force to avoid collisions,the alignment force to keep consistent with the velocity direction,and the attractive force to get close to the members of group.In segregation and alignment areas,the repulsion force and alignment force among pedestrians are limited by visual field factors.Finally,the interactive force among individuals,the driving force of destination and the repulsion force of obstacles work together to drive the behavior of crowd motion.The simulation results show that the proposed method can not only effectively simulate the interactive behavior between adjacent individuals but also the collective behavior of group.

文摘To make a curvilinear motion in the horizontal plane is one of the most contents for realizing the maneuverability of the supercavitating vehicle. It is significant to achieve the controllability and maneuverability of the vehicle in three dimensions both theoretically and practically on research. Models of angle of attack, gravity and inertial force effects on the supercavity in the horizontal curvilinear motion are established, respectively. The supercavity is simulated based on these models in combination with Logvinovich model and the unsteady gas-leakage rate model at the given ventilation rate, and the effect of the inertial force on it is analyzed numerically. Results show that the maximum deviation of the center line of the cross section of supercavity towards the outward normal direction of its trajectory increases as the cavitation number or curvature radius decrease and always occur in the tail because of the increase of inertial effects along the axis of supercavity from the cavitator when other models and flow parameters are constant for the given trajectory curvature. For the variable curvature, the supercavity sheds due to its instability caused by the time-varying angle of attack. The deviation increases along the length of supercavity if the curvature remains the same sign.
文摘Plate motion representing a remarkable Earth process is widely attributed to several primary forces such as ridge push and slab pull. Recently, we have presented that the ocean water pressure against the wall of continents may generate enormous force on continents. Continents are physically fixed on the top of the lithosphere that has been already broken into individual plates, this attachment enables the force to be laterally transferred to the lithospheric plates. In this study, we combine the force and the existing plate driving forces (i.e., ridge push, slab pull, collisional, and shearing) to account for plate motion. We show that the modelled movements for the South American, African, North American, Eurasian, Australian, Pacific plates are well agreement with the observed movements in both speed and azimuth, with a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of the modelled speed against the observed speed of 0.91, 3.76, 2.77, 2.31, 7.43, and 1.95 mm/yr, respectively.

文摘The study of arc behavior is important to understand the dynamic phenomena concerning the interruption process in a variety of switching devices. This paper is devoted to investigate the influence of gassing material on blow open force and arc motion. To one double- breaker model, measuring the arc current, voltage and force acting on the moving conductor, the characteristics of the ratio of the emerging blow open force over arc power FB/(ui) could be obtained. With the help of a 2-D optical fiber measurement system, to one arc chamber model, arc motion behavior was measured, too. It is demonstrated that, with the action of gassing material, FB/(ui) will increase 2.5 times, and the arc will enter the splitter plates much easier.

文摘The variational principle of minimum free energy(MFEVP) has been widely used in research of soft matter statics.The MFEVP can be used not only to derive equilibrium equations(including both bulk equations and boundary conditions),but also to develop direct variational methods(such as Ritz method) to find approximate solutions to these equilibrium equations. We apply these variational methods to study long-range force transmission in nonlinear elastic biopolymer gels.It is shown that the slow decay of cell-induced displacements measured experimentally for fibroblast spheroids in threedimensional fibrin gels can be well explained by variational approximations based on the three-chain model of biopolymer gels.

文摘For a strip transmission line shielded by rectangular walls, the Green抯 function is helpful to construct the variation expression of the electrostatic energy. Thomson theorem is employed to determine the charge distribution on the strip. The electrostatic force on each side of the rectangular shield wall is achieved by using the principle of virtual work. The result is easy to be obtained by computerized calculation.
文摘The investigation aims to understand how external forces influence tectonic plate movement, causing earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Our emphasis was on calculating perigee forces at various moon-Earth distances. Our initial concern is the fluctuating perigee distance between the Moon and Earth. Later, we will cover Earth’s mass fluctuations caused by crustal inhomogeneity. Gravitational force depends on distance and Earth’s mass variations. Wobbling’s Earth and translation around Sun are additional factors. Tidal variations from the Moon trigger subduction zone earthquakes. Volcanoes in the Ring of Fire are influenced by plate movement on fractures and faults.

文摘The current research on gear system dynamics mainly utilizes linear spring damping model to calculate the contact force between gears. However, this linear model cannot correctly describe the energy transfer process of collision that often occurs in gear system. Focus on the contact-impact events, this paper proposes an improved gear contact force model for dynamic analysis in helical gear transmission system. In this model, a new factor associated with hysteresis damping is developed for contact-impact state, whereas the traditional linear damping factor is utilized for normal meshing state. For determining the selection strategy of these two damping factors, the fundamental contact mechanics of contact-impact event a ected by supporting forces are analyzed. During this analysis, an e ect factor is proposed for evaluating the influence of supporting forces on collision. Meanwhile, a new restitution of coe cient is deduced for calculating hysteresis damping factor, which suitable for both separation and non-separation states at the end of collision. In addition, the time-varying meshing sti ness(TVMS) is obtained based on the potential energy approach and the slice theory. Finally, a dynamic analysis of a helical gear system is carried out to better understand the contact force model proposed in this paper. The analysis results show that the contribution of supporting forces to the dynamic response of contact-impact event within gear pair is important. The supporting forces and dissipative energy are the main reasons for gear system to enter a steady contact state from repeated contact-impact state. This research proposes an improved contact force model which distinguishes meshing and collision states in gear system.
