A speed sensorless vector control system of induction motor with estimated rotor speed and rotor flux using a new reduced order extended Kalman filter is proposed. With this method, two rotor flux components are selected as the state variables, and the rotor speed as an estimated parameter is regarded as an augmented state variable. The algorithm with reduced order decreases the computational complexity and makes the proposed estimator feasible to be implemented in real time. The simulation results show high accuracy of the estimation algorithm and good performance of speed control, and verify the usefulness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

This technique involves transfo... In the context of induction motor control, there are various control strategies used to separately control torque and flux. One common approach is known as Field-Oriented Control (FOC). This technique involves transforming the three-phase currents and voltages into a rotating reference frame, commonly referred to as the “dq” frame. In this frame, the torque/speed and flux components are decoupled, allowing for independent control, by doing so, the motor’s speed can be regulated accurately and maintain a constant flux which is crucial to ensure optimal motor performance and efficiency. The research focused on studying and simulating a field-oriented control system using fuzzy control techniques for an induction motor. The aim was to address the issue of parameter variations, particularly the change in rotor resistance during motor operation, which causes the control system to deviate from the desired direction. This deviation implies to an increase in the magnetic flux value, specifically the flux component on the q-axis. By employing fuzzy logic techniques to regulate flux vector’s components in the dq frame, this problem was successfully resolved, ensuring that the magnetic flux value remains within the nominal limits. To enhance the control system’s performance, response speed, and efficiency of the motor, sliding mode controllers were implemented to regulate the current in the inner loop. The simulation results demonstrated the proficiency of the proposed methodology. 展开更多

The development of an effective methodology for the design of such control systems undoubtedly requires the synthesis of many concepts from artificial intelligence. The most commonly used controller in the industry field is the proportional-plus-integral-plus-derivative (PID) controller. Fuzzy logic controller (FLC) provides an alternative to PID controller, especially when the available system models are inexact or unavailable. Also rapid advances in digital technologies have given designers the option of implementing controllers using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) which depends on parallel programming. This method has many advantages over classical microprocessors. In this research, A model of the fuzzy PID control system is implemented in real time with a Xilinx FPGA (Spartan-3A, Xilinx Company, 2007). It is introduced to maintain a constant speed to when the load varies.,The model of a DC motor is considered as a second order system with load variation as a an example for complex model systems. For comparison purpose, two widely used controllers “PID and Fuzzy” have been implemented in the same FPGA card to examine the performance of the proposed system. These controllers have been tested using Matlab/Simulink program under speed and load variation conditions. Vector control schemes have recently been used to drive linear induction motors(LIM)in high-performance applications.This trend promotes the development of precise and efficient control schemes for individual motors.This research aims to present a novel framework for speed and thrust force control of LIM using space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM)inverters.The framework under consideration is developed in four stages.To begin,MATLAB Simulink was used to develop a detailed mathematical and electromechanical dynamicmodel.The research presents a modified SVPWM inverter control scheme.By tuning the proportional-integral(PI)controller with a transfer function,optimized values for the PI controller are derived.All the subsystems mentioned above are integrated to create a robust simulation of the LIM’s precise speed and thrust force control scheme.The reference speed values were chosen to evaluate the performance of the respective system,and the developed system’s response was verified using various data sets.For the low-speed range,a reference value of 10m/s is used,while a reference value of 100 m/s is used for the high-speed range.The speed output response indicates that themotor reached reference speed in amatter of seconds,as the delay time is between 8 and 10 s.The maximum amplitude of thrust achieved is less than 400N,demonstrating the controller’s capability to control a high-speed LIM with minimal thrust ripple.Due to the controlled speed range,the developed system is highly recommended for low-speed and high-speed and heavy-duty traction applications. 展开更多

A novel control system is developed to improve the capabilities of robet hand performing tasks in a variety of environments. A joint impedance control strategy has been successfully implemented in the low level control of a highly integrated robot hand. At flint, a real time controller with DSP&FPGA-based multilevel control architecture is built. Then a current sensor of the single direct current (DC) link is used to measure and reconstruct the three phase currents, and a stable current signal is measured by optimizing sample instant. The experimental results of the joint impedance control show that the proposed method not only improves the effectiveness of contact environment performance, but also provides compliant interaction of robot hand with a person, which is very important for the development of friendly human robot of the next generation. 展开更多

A novel current chopping mode was used in a switched reluctance motor drive system to make full use of the characteristics of digital signal processor (DSP) TMS320F240. The necessity of this 180° phase-shift current control (PSCC) mode is introduced first and then the principle of PSCC covering both hardware requirement and software programming is described in detail. The analysis made indicated that with this mode, the chopping frequency in winding can reach 20 kHz with 10 kHz power switches and the control frequency can reach 40 kHz at the same time. Subsequently, based on the linear and nonlinear mathematical models of the switched reluctance motor (SRM), some simulation work has been done. The simulation results show that when this mode is applied to SRM drive (SRD) system, the current waveform becomes better. So the ripple of the torque is reduced simultaneously and the vibration and acoustic noise are reduced involuntarily. Stationary tests show that the acoustic noise is greatly diminished. Finally, some experiments were made using a 50 kW SRD system for electric vehicle (EV). Experimental results indicate that this mode can be implemented feasibly and it has a good action on the SRD system. 展开更多

A vector control system for electric vehicle (EV) induction motor drive system is designed and developed. Its hardware system based on dual CPU(microcomputer 80C196KC and DSP TMS320F2407) is implemented. The fundamental mathematics equations of induction motor in the general synchronously rotating reference frame ( M T frame) used for vector control are achieved by coordinate transformation. Rotor flux equation and torque equation are deduced. According to these equations, an induction motor mathematical model and rotor flux observer model are built separately. The rotor flux field oriented vector control method is implemented based on these models in system software, some of the simulation results with Matab/Simulink are given. The simulation results show that the vector control system for EV induction motor drive system has better static and dynamic performance, and the rotor flux field oriented vector control method was practically verified. 展开更多

The automation process is a very important pillar for Industry 4.0.One of the first steps is the control of motors to improve production efficiency and generate energy savings.In mass production industries,techniques such as digital signal processing(DSP)systems are implemented to control motors.These systems are efficient but very expensive for certain applications.From this arises the need for a controller capable of handling AC and DC motors that improves efficiency and maintains low energy consumption.This project presents the design of an adaptive control system for brushless AC induction and DC motors,which is functional to any type of plant in the industry.The design was possible by implementing Matlab software and tools such as digital signal processor(DSP)and Simulink.Through an extensive investigation of the state of the art,three models needed to represent the control system have been specified.The first model for the AC motor,the second for the DC motor and the third for the DSP control;this is done in this way so that the probability of failure is lower.Subsequently,these models have been programmed in Simulink,integrating the three main models into one.In this way,the design of a controller for use in AC induction motors,specifically squirrel cage and brushless DC motors,has been achieved.The final model represents a response time of 0.25 seconds,which is optimal for this type of application,where response times of 2e-3 to 3 seconds are expected. 展开更多

The design procedures of the fuzzy neural controller and the teaching controller are described. The parameters of the membership function are regulated by an on-line learning algorithm. The speed responses of the system under the condition, where the target functions are chosen as I qs and ω, are analyzed. The system responses with the variant of parameter moment of inertial J, viscous coefficients B and torque constant K tare also analyzed. 旋转平台在低速运转过程中易产生非线性摩擦,由于非线性因素的影响,传统PID算法的控制效果远不能满足超精密运动平台定位精度高、响应快速等要求。因此,设计了基于DSP+FPGA的旋转平台自抗扰控制算法(active disturbance rejection contr... 旋转平台在低速运转过程中易产生非线性摩擦,由于非线性因素的影响,传统PID算法的控制效果远不能满足超精密运动平台定位精度高、响应快速等要求。因此,设计了基于DSP+FPGA的旋转平台自抗扰控制算法(active disturbance rejection control,ADRC),利用扩张状态观测器(extend states observer,ESO)对系统内外部未知扰动进行实时估计并予以补偿,提升系统响应速度,增强鲁棒性与抗干扰能力。最后,通过正弦扫描实验进行验证,PID对正弦输入信号无法及时响应,超调明显;ADRC响应迅速,稳态误差波动小。相比PID,ADRC最大跟踪误差降低79.5%,跟踪误差平均值降低65.4%。 展开更多

A simple control structure in servo system is occasionally needed for simple industrial application which precise and high control performance is not exessively important so that the cost production can be reduced efficiently. Simplified vector control, which has simple control structure, is utilized as the permanent magnet synchronous motor control algorithm and genetic algorithm is used to tune three PI controllers used in simplified vector control. The control performance is obtained from simulation and investigated to verify the feasibility of the algorithm to be applied in the real application. Simulation results show that the speed and torque responses of the system in both continuous time and discrete time can achieve good performances. Furthermore, simplified vector control combined with genetic algorithm has a similar perfofmance with conventional field oriented control algorithm and possible to be realized into the real simple application in the future. 展开更多

Based on the three-phase logical no-circumfluence a.c./a.c. cycloconverter, the speeds of two 2500 kW double fed drive motors have been regulated by means of the vector control technology. The maximum operating speed of each motor- generator unit has been raised from 1488 rpm (revolutions per minute) to 1650 rpm and the released energy of each unit during a pulsed discharge can reach 500 MJ. As a result, the toroidal field system has the capacity to provide 2.8 tesla (T) in HL-2A experiments. 展开更多

Finite-control-set model predictive control(FCSMPC)has advantages of multi-objective optimization and easy implementation.To reduce the computational burden and switching frequency,this article proposed a simplified MPC for dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor(DTPPMSM).The novelty of this method is the decomposition of prediction function and the switching optimization algorithm.Based on the decomposition of prediction function,the current increment vector is obtained,which is employed to select the optimal voltage vector and calculate the duty cycle.Then,the computation burden can be reduced and the current tracking performance can be maintained.Additionally,the switching optimization algorithm was proposed to optimize the voltage vector action sequence,which results in lower switching frequency.Hence,this control strategy can not only reduce the computation burden and switching frequency,but also maintain the steady-state and dynamic performance.The simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed strategy. 展开更多

The multi-phase motor drive system with multiple H-bridge power supply has high fault tolerance,which is widely used in aerospace,electric vehicle,ship integrated power system and other fields.In this paper,a fault-tolerant control strategy based on decoupling control and stator current compensation is proposed for the propulsion system of five-phase PMSM with independent neutrals.Firstly,the mathematical model of PMSM is established by using vector space decoupling method;Secondly,a stator current compensation method is adopted to carry out fault-tolerant control after the motor has single-phase and two-phase open-circuit faults and the fault-tolerant control system based on decoupling control is established;Finally,the decoupling control model and the fault-tolerant control of stator current compensation are verified by the simulation and experiment.The simulation and experiment results show that the method can reduce the torque ripple caused by the stator winding open-circuit fault,and the operation performance of the motor under fault condition is significantly improved. 展开更多

This paper presents an improved finite control set model predictive current control(FCS-MPCC)of a five-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM).First,to avoid including all the 32 voltage vectors provided by a two-level five-phase inverter into the control set,virtual voltage vectors are adopted.As the third current harmonics can be much reduced by virtual voltage vectors automatically,the harmonic items in the cost function of conventional FCS-MPCC are not considered.Furthermore,an adaptive control set is proposed based on voltage prediction.Best control set with proper voltage vector amplitude corresponding to different rotor speed can be achieved by this method.Consequently,current ripples can be largely reduced and the system performs much better.At last,simulations are established to verify the steady and transient performance of the proposed FCS-MPCC,and experiments based on a 2 kW five-phase motor are carried out.The results have validated the performance improvement of the proposed control strategy. 展开更多
