The resulting equation is applied to simulation of fine sediment deposition in the reclaimed land in the Hangzhou Bay, China. The hydrodynamic environment in this area is solved by use of a long wave model, which gives the 2D-velocity field and considers bathymetric changes due to fine sediment deposition. With these results, it predicted the annual deposition thickness for the excavated trough and disclosed the fact that it can't be deposited deadly during one storm. At the same time, with two-dimensional numerical model, it studied the effects of the excavated trough and the reclamation near shore on tidal cureent and said that the excavated trough can decrease the current velocity passing through the trough about 10- 15%, but only limited inside and near the trough and there are no effect on other regions; reclamation can cut off the pollution sources and no obvious effect on the currents of the Jiaozhou Bay. Connecting the deep trough and Cangkou tidal channel with a new excavated trough can improve the current conditions on the deep trough in some degree, but not great.展开更多

In consideration of silty sediment and sand, some factors in forecasting methods have been changed and modified. Consequently, the modified methods can be used either to compute siltation in navigation channels and harbour basins on muddy beach or to compute siltation and scouring in navigation channels and harbour basins on both silty beach and sandy beach. The verification of field data from eleven large, medium and small natural harbours shows a good agreement between the forecasting by the modified method and the natural conditions. Finally, the paper deals with the rational utilization of water area after the construction of the West Dyke in Lianyungang, the maintenance of water depth of the navigation channel at the entrance, siltation distribution, siltation in the navigation channel and harbour basin for ships of 100 thousand tonnnage. Results once again prove that the prospect of constructing Lianyungang Harbour into a deepwater harbour is bright.展开更多

This study used detailed drilling data from the E1f1 reservoir in the X Oilfield, Subei Basin, China, to investigate the hierarchical muddy baffles developed on lacustrine delta fronts and their precise cross-well correlation.According to the theories on allogenic and autogenic cycles as well as the genesis and scales of muddy baffles, five orders of muddy baffles were classified, which provided various degrees of difficulty when attempting interwell correlation. Under the guidance of a reliable stratigraphic model, the precise cross-well correlation of muddy baffles could be achieved and the key point of establishment of this stratigraphic model was to calculate foreset angles of hierarchical muddy baffles during deposition. During calculation, the relationships between sediment flow direction, higher-order strata dipping direction, well types and well trajectory direction should all be taken into consideration and some other angles(referred to here as θ1,θ2 and θ3) should also be measured. Such new methods of cross-well correlation for hierarchical muddy baffles could greatly reduce the uncertainties and multiple solutions, which in turn would be significant for efficient development and oil recovery enhancement in the reservoirs.展开更多

Column experiments were conducted to determine the dependence of denitrification rate on the redox potential. Filtered seawater was fed continuously to the pipe filled with sediment from the muddy tidal flats. An increase in the redox potential from -198 mV to 21 mV with bioturbation led to increases in the denitrification rate from 24.2 mg/m2/day to 29.8 mg/m2/day. The increase in denitrification was explained by the acceleration of mass transfer in the sediment. Redox-potential increased from -400 mV to -200 mV by the addition of 10 g calcium nitrate, acid volatile sulfide was below the detection limit to 20 cm depth, and denitrification rate was increased from 21.3 mg/m2/day to 36.4 mg/m2/day. It is considered that the increased nitrogen concentration led to an increase in microbial activity.展开更多

The paper analyses the marine dynamic characteristics and the mechanism of beach erosion of this area. Analysis and calculation show that in this sea area wave and tidal current action should be considered. Based on the above analysis, an equilibrium beach profile calculation model is developed, in which the wave-current interaction is considered while sediment supply and sediment re-deposition are neglected. The model consists of four parts: (1) calculation of wave parameters, (2) calculation of velocity due to wave-current interaction at different water depth, (3) calculation of friction velocity and shear stress at different water depths, and (4) calculation of the amount of sediment erosion, erosion intensity and variation of beach profile. Calculated results are in good agreement with observed data. Finally, the evolution tendency is discussed and the equilibrium beach profile of this coast is calculated. B展开更多

The paper showed that the sediment along the coast of Zhejiang mainly comes from the Changjiang Estuary through analysing the time and space variations of suspended sediment, the features of sediment and the sedimentary transport. The Changjiang River is the largest river system in China, its sediment to the sea amounting to 468×106t. The sediment during summer transports mainly eastward, and is affected by the water body with high temperature, salinity and transparency; the winter season is the period with high sediment concentration. The sediment of the Changjiang Estuary transports together with the longshore current of the East China Sea southward, the southern boundary can reach the sea region approximately 500 km from the Shacheng Harbour. The accretion rate seaward has been about 10 - 30 m since the 16th century. The sediment movement combined the longitudinal with the lateral, so that the muddy flats progress continuously seaward under the construction of the seashore profile .展开更多

It was found that, when the zinc\|containing solutions were added to sodium hydroxide solution, the filtration of the obtained precipitates was improved to some extent, depending on the molar ratios of OH\+-/Zn, in comparison with those obtained by conventional addition of hydroxide solution to zinc\|containing solution, even the ratios were kept the same in these two alkalization methods. The experimental results showed that such an improvement may be contributed to the presence of muddy precipitates formed homogeneously in the sludge. It was suggested that it was zinc\|containing solution that should be added into hydroxide solution, when the zinc was removed from aqueous solution by the precipitation of zinc hydroxides. As a result, the sludge obtained will be filtered and rinsed readily.展开更多

The mineral changes of specimens were analyzed via X-ray diffraction after dry-wet cycles. By combining in-situ SEM and digital image processing(DIP), the damage evolution process and damage characteristic parameters of each stage were obtained. The experimental results indicate that the hydration and dissolution of minerals can not be a determinant factor in structure damage. The micro-structural damage is due to disintegration of mineral aggregates, leading to changes in the number and size of cracks and pores. The damage degree of specimens is related to its initial structure, and the micro-structural damage intensifies and finally tends to stabilize with cycle times increased.展开更多

In farming, the water quality also plays an important role;as the poor quality of water can be one of the limiting factors in this sector that in addition to the agricultural problems has also caused soil problems. In this paper, we introduce and study an indigenous method of water conservation and soil protection in the east of Iran termed as “water-colouring” and the role of geomorphologic features of marl hills in one of the rivers located in the southern slopes of the Joghtay Mountain (Kalateh-Sadat Watershed). In this study, field observation, sampling and analysis of water and sediment, physicochemical experiments, SPSS software for statistical analysis and satellite images have been used to produce digital models. Finally, the effects of muddy water and clear water have been compared in terms of chemical quality and productivity of agricultural land. The results show that the method of water-colouring is the best indigenous-economical method for moisture retention and regeneration of the agricultural land soil. Given the statistical reasons and studying the other researches in this field, water-colouring causes change texture and soil composition, fertility of agricultural land and reduce the losses due to evaporation and infiltration.展开更多

文摘Debris flow fan affects the river profile and landscape evolution. The propagation of multiple debris flows along a river can cause inundation and breaching risk, which can be exemplified by the Min River after the Wenchuan earthquake,Sichuan province,China. In this work, large flume tests were conducted to examine the interactions between debris flows and water current with the fan geometry, momentum, runout distance, deposited width, the relative water level upstream and dominated stress. The results reveal that stony flow commonly travels at a high speed and forms a long rectangle shape fan, while the muddy flow generally travels at a low speed and forms a fan-shaped depositional area. The stony flow can block a river even when the momentum is close to the water current;the muddy flow can block a river when the momentum is lower than that of water current. In case of complete river damming, the relative water level upstream indicates that the inundation risk from the muddy flow damming river would be higher than the inundation risk of stony flow. The diversion ratio of muddy flow decreases as damming ratio.Comparison of dimensionless numbers reveals that stony flow is dominated by grain collision stress combined with turbulent mixing stress, while the muddy flow is dominated by viscous shear stress over friction stress. The fan geometry, damming ratio, diversion ratio, and the dominated stress all together indicate that stony flow strongly interacts with water current while the muddy flow does not.The results can be helpful for understanding the physical interactions between water current and various debris flows, and debris flow dynamics at the channel confluence area.

文摘Muddy water irrigation has been widely practiced in the Yellow River Basin for agricultural production and is an important method of economical and intensive utilization of water resources. In this study, the effects of sediment gradation, sand content, and soil moisture content on nitrogen(N)transformation were studied through a series of experimental tests. The results indicated that muddy water irrigation significantly affected agricultural soil physical and biological properties as well as N transformation.Soil bulk density, total porosity,pH,and microbial enzyme activities significantly correlated with N transformation as affected by the interaction between sediment and soil moisture.Sediment addition generally increased the soil bulk density and reduced the soil porosity and pH significantly, and the optimum moisture for promotion of the N transformation rate was 80%of the water-filled pore space. Therefore, muddy water irrigation has a potentially long-term influence on agricultural N cycles in semi-arid regions of northwestern China. This could provide a theoretical basis for scientific and rational use of muddy water for irrigation.

文摘The transformation mechanism of muddy carbonate rock by the coupling of bioturbation and diagenesis was stud-ied based on core, cast thin section and physical property data of Cretaceous strata in the Mesopotamia Basin, the Middle East. There are 3 ways of biological transformation of rocks:(1)The living creatures transformed formations mechanically to make the rocks looser and intergranular pores increase.(2)After formation, burrows were backfilled with coarse-grained debris, and then unsaturated fluid infiltrated into the burrows during the penecontemporaneous period, resulting in dissolution.(3)Chemical alteration occurred in abandoned burrows and dolomitization produced a large number of intercrystalline pores. The·coupling of bioturbation and dissolution occurred mainly in the penecontemporaneous phase, and was controlled by rock type, sea level decline, burrow abundance, infillings, and water environment etc.As the burrows had better physical properties than the matrix, unsaturated fluid preferentially migrated along the burrows, leading to dissolution and expansion of the burrows first and then dissolution of the matrix. The coupling of bioturbation and dolomitization occurred mainly in the burial phase. The rich organic matter and reducing bacteria in the burrow provided material basis, reducing conditions and alkaline envi-ronment for dolomitization. The metasomatism in the penecontemporaneous period had little effect on the physical properties of the burrows. When the burrows were se parated from the deposition interface, equimolar metasomatism occurred in the burrows in a closed environment, forming euhedral fine-crystalline dolomite with intercrystalline pores. The transformation degree of bioturbation to muddy carbonate reservoir depends on rock type, density, connectivity, infillings and structure of the burrows. With the increase of the carbonate mud content, the im provement to rock physical properties by bioturbation be-comes more prominent. When the burrows are filled with coarse-grained debris or fine-crystalline dolomite, the greater the density, the higher the connectivity, and the lower the tortuosity of burrows, the better the physical properties of the muddy carbonate rocks are.
文摘The novel ways for the filtration improvement of zinc hydroxide sludge precipitated from the zinc\|containing solutions was investigated. As a result, the sludge obtained will be filtered and rinsed readily.

文摘In order to reflect truly the damage evolution mechanism of weak muddy intercalation in dry-wet cycles, two typical weak muddy intercalations were selected for dry-wet cycles. The damage degree of specimens is related to its initial structure, and the micro-structural damage intensifies and finally tends to stabilize with cycle times increased.

文摘Based on the experimental data, this study investigated the effect of sand content of muddy water on water and nitrogen transport characteristics of the single-line interference infiltration under film hole irrigation with muddy water and fertilizer. The relationship between the single-line interference infiltration parameters, the sand content, the wetting front movement distances, and the sand content were all established. The model of the cumulative infiltration volume of per unit film pore area, the vertical and horizontal wetting front movement distance of the free surface, and the wetting front movement distance of the interference center with sand content and infiltration time were proposed.Reveal the law of the change of soil water content and the distribution of NO_(3)^(-)-N content based on different muddy water sand content. The results indicate that at the same infiltration time,as the muddy water sand content increases, the cumulative infiltration volume per unit pore area decreases. The infiltration index of the free infiltration and the single-line interference vary little when the sand content increases, mainly are around 0.64 and 0.58.The relationship between infiltration parameters a,b and the sand content is linear function. At the same location, the more the sand content, the smaller the wetting front movement distance in free surface and the single-line interference surface, the less the NO_(3)^(-)-N content.

文摘As the ultra-heavy oil reservoirs developed by steam assisted gravity drainage(SAGD)in the Fengcheng oilfield,Xinjiang have problems such as huge steam usage, long preheating period, low production, and inaccessible reserve in local parts.Based on the rock mechanics and porosity/permeability characteristics of heavy oil reservoir and interlayer,a series of true triaxial experiments and CT tests considering the fracturing fluid injection rate, viscosity, perforation density and location of fracture initiation were conducted to disclose the propagation behavior of micro-and macro-fractures in the reservoirs and mudstone interlayers. These experiments show that fracturing in the heavy oil reservoirs only generates microfractures that cannot break the interlayer. In contrast, when fracturing in the interlayer, the higher the injection rate(greater than 0.6 m^3/min),the lower the viscosity, the easier it is to form macro-fractures in the interlayers, and the further the fractures will propagate into the reservoirs. Also, increasing perforation density tends to create complex macro-fracture network in the interbedded reservoirs and mudstone interlayers. The findings of this study can provide scientific guidance for the selection of fracturing layer and the optimization of parameters in the interlayer fracturing of heavy oil reservoirs.

文摘Based on the abundant core data of oil sands in the Mackay river in Canada, the termination frequency of muddy interlayers was counted to predict the extension range of interlayers using a queuing theory model, and then the quantitative relationship between the thickness and extension length of muddy interlayer was established. An equivalent upscaling method of geologic model based on tortuous paths under the effects of muddy interlayer has been proposed.Single muddy interlayers in each coarse grid are tracked and identified, and the average length, width and proportion of muddy interlayer in each coarse grid are determined by using the geological connectivity tracing algorithm. The average fluid flow length of tortuous path under the influence of muddy interlayer is calculated.Based on the Darcy formula, the formula calculating average permeability in the coarsened grid is deduced to work out the permeability of equivalent coarsened grid. The comparison of coarsening results of the oil sand reservoir of Mackay River with actual development indexes shows that the equivalent upscaling method of muddy interlayer by tortuous path calculation can reflect the blocking effect of muddy interlayer very well, and better reflect the effects of geological condition on production.
文摘Water scarcity has always been one of the most important obstacles in the process of agricultural development in arid and low-rainfall climates. Given the statistical reasons and studying the other researches in this field, water-colouring causes change texture and soil composition, fertility of agricultural land and reduce the losses due to evaporation and infiltration.
