Different from traditional multiobjective particle swarm optimization methods, Kriging meta-models and the trapezoid index are introduced and integrated with the traditional one. Kriging meta-models are built to match expensive or black-box functions. By applying Kriging meta-models, function evaluation numbers are decreased and the boundary Pareto-optimal solutions are identified rapidly. For bi-objective optimization problems, the trapezoid index is calculated as the sum of the trapezoid’s area formed by the Pareto-optimal solutions and one objective axis. It can serve as a measure whether the Pareto-optimal solutions converge to the Pareto front. Illustrative examples indicate that to obtain Paretooptimal solutions, the method proposed needs fewer function evaluations than the traditional multi-objective particle swarm optimization method and the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II method, and both the accuracy and the computational efficiency are improved. The proposed method is also applied to the design of a deepwater composite riser example in which the structural performances are calculated by numerical analysis. The design aim was to enhance the tension strength and minimize the cost. Under the buckling constraint, the optimal trade-off of tensile strength and material volume is obtained. The results demonstrated that the proposed method can effec tively deal with multi-objective optimizations with black-box functions.展开更多

Inspired by division of the same species into multiple swarms for different objectives and information sharing among these swarms in nature, each physical machine in the data center is considered a swarm and employs improved multi-objective particle swarm optimization to find out non-dominated solutions with one objective in MSMOOA. The particles in each swarm are divided into two classes and adopt different strategies to evolve cooperatively. One class of particles can communicate with several swarms simultaneously to promote the information sharing among swarms and the other class of particles can only exchange information with the particles located in the same swarm. In this method, the particles are encoded by the probability amplitudes of the basic states of the multi-qubits system. The rotation angles of multi-qubits are determined based on the local optimum particle and the global optimal particle, and the multi-qubits rotation gates are employed to update the particles. The underwater acoustic channel is considered to be one of the most complicated channels because it suffers from more serious multipath effect, fewer available bandwidths and quite complex noise. Since the signals experience a serious distortion after being transmitted through the underwater acoustic channel, the underwater acoustic communication experiences a high bit error rate (BER). To solve this problem, carrier waveform inter- displacement (CWlD) modulation is proposed. It has been proved that CWlD modulation is an effective method to decrease BER. The linear frequency modulation (LFM) carrier-waves are used in CWlD modulation. The performance of the communication using CWID modulation is sensitive to the change of the frequency band of LFM carrier-waves. The immune particle swarm optimization (IPSO) is introduced to search for the optimal frequency band of the LFM carrier-waves, due to its excellent performance in solving complicated optimization problems. The multi-objective and multi- peak optimization nature of the IPSO gives a suitable description of the relationship between the upper band and the lower band of the LFM carrier-waves. Simulations verify the improved perfor- mance and effectiveness of the optimization method.展开更多

The EED problem is handled by Reference Point Interactive Approach. One of the main advantages of the proposed approach is integrating the merits of both TR and PSO, where TR has provided the initial set (close to the Pareto set as possible and the reference point of the decision maker) followed by PSO to improve the quality of the solutions and get all the points on the Pareto frontier. The performance of the proposed algorithm is tested on standard IEEE 30-bus 6-genrator test system and is compared with conventional methods. The results demonstrate the capabilities of the proposed approach to generate true and well-distributed Pareto-optimal non-dominated solutions in one single run. The comparison with the classical methods demonstrates the superiority of the proposed approach and confirms its potential to solve the multi-objective EED problem.展开更多

As the model is non-convex, non-smooth and discrete and computationally expensive, we use decomposition method to solve the MOP problem. We mainly focus on addressing the scalarized sub-problem after decomposition. For the scalarized sub-problem, we propose an enhanced difference method. First, difference of each component is calculated, which provides the guidance of optimization. Then an OPSO is applied to search the optimal step length. The method is applied to GSM network optimization on an area in Beijing. The effect of the application shows that proposed method has a good performance, and is effective/efficient to solve mobile network optimization problems.展开更多

This work presents a case study of optimizing an integrated distributed energy system consisting of combined heat and power(CHP), photovoltaics(PV), and electric and/or thermal energy storage for a hospital and large hotel buildings located in Texas and California. First, simulation models for all subsystems, which are developed individually, are integrated together according to a control strategy designed to satisfy both the electric and thermal energy requirements of a building. Subsequently, a multi-objective particle swarm optimization(MOPSO) is employed to obtain an optimal design of each subsystem. The objectives of the optimization are to minimize the simple payback period(PBP) and maximize the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions(RCDE). Finally, the energy performance for the selected building types and locations are analyzed after the optimization. Results indicate that the proposed optimization method could be applied to determine an optimal design of distributed energy systems, which reaches a trade-off between the economic and environmental performance for different buildings. With the presented distributed energy system, a peak shaving in electricity of about 300 kW and a reduction in boiler fuel consumption of 610 kW could be attained for the hospital building located in California for a winter day. For the summer and transition seasons, electricity peak shaving of 800 kW and 600 kW could be achieved, respectively.展开更多

文摘With the exploration of the ocean, underwater acoustic communication has attracted more and more attention in recent years. 文摘Agriculture plays a vital role in the food production process that occupies nearly one-third of the total surface of the earth.Rice is propagated from the seeds of paddy and it is a stable food almost used byfifty percent of the total world population. The extensive growth of the human population alarms us to ensure food security and the country should take proper food steps to improve the yield of food grains. This paper concentrates on improving the yield of paddy by predicting the factors that influence the growth of paddy with the help of Evolutionary Computation Techniques. Most of the researchers used to relay on historical records of meteorological parameters to predict the yield of paddy. There is a lack in analyzing the day to day impact of meteorological parameters such as direction of wind, relative humidity,Instant Wind Speed in paddy cultivation. The real time meteorological data collected and analysis the impact of weather parameters from the day of paddy sowing to till the last day of paddy harvesting with regular time series.A Robust Optimized Artificial Neural Network(ROANN)Algorithm with Genetic Algorithm(GA)and Multi Objective Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm(MOPSO)proposed to predict the factors that to be concentrated by farmers to improve the paddy yield in cultivation.A real time paddy data collected from farmers of Tamilnadu and the meteorological parameters were matched with the cropping pattern of the farmers to construct the database. The input parameters were optimized either by using GA or MOPSO optimization algorithms to reconstruct the database.Reconstructed database optimized by using Artificial Neural Network Back Propagation Algorithm. The reason for improving the growth of paddy was identified using the output of the Neural Network.Performance metrics such as Accuracy,Error Rate etc were used to measure the performance of the proposed algorithm.Comparative analysis made between ANN with GA and ANN with MOPSO to identify the recommendations for improving the paddy yield.
文摘In this paper, a multi-objective optimization model is presented, based on Parzen Window method which can make a theoretical analysis of the probability density function of passengers and determine the demand over a corresponding period by integration. This model can minimize the total of waiting time of passengers and the running cost of school buses with several constrains including the passengers’ numbers and the longest endurance time. Moreover, the data from Wuhan University of Technology, used as an example, verify the feasibility of the model. At last, the whole results are calculated by the Particle Swarm Optimization.
文摘A reference point based multi-objective optimization using a combination between trust region (TR) algorithm and particle swarm optimization (PSO) to solve the multi-objective environmental/economic dispatch (EED) problem is presented in this paper. The comparison with the classical methods demonstrates the superiority of the proposed approach and confirms its potential to solve the multi-objective EED problem.
文摘In this paper, we propose a fine-grained grid-based multi-objective model which aims at optimizing base station antennas' configurations, such as transmit power, antenna tilt and antenna azimuth, in order to upgrading network performance in cellular networks. The effect of the application shows that proposed method has a good performance, and is effective/efficient to solve mobile network optimization problems.

文摘Distributed energy systems are considered as a promising technology for sustainable development and have become a popular research topic in the areas of building energy systems. For the summer and transition seasons, electricity peak shaving of 800 kW and 600 kW could be achieved, respectively.
