In this paper, we propose joint multi-user detection schemes with weighting factors for unsourced multiple access. First, we introduce bidirectional weighting factors in the extrinsic information passing process between the multi-user detector based on belief propagation (BP) and the LDPC decoder. Second, we incorporate bidirectional weighting factors in the message passing process between the MAC nodes and the user variable nodes in BP- based multi-user detector. The proposed schemes select the optimal weighting factors through simulations. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed schemes exhibit significant performance improvements in terms of block error rate (BLER) compared to traditional schemes. .展开更多

The structure of such a detector is nearly similar to the conventional detector. The torque model is established based on the finite-element model of the single pair poles in 3D finite element method software. Due to the special structure of the actuator,the Euler angles are adopted for deriving the kinematics and dynamic model. To reduce the effects of uncertainties of modeling error,nonlinear friction and external disturbances in the system,an approximation of neural network adaptive control method is applied to the actuator. The computation and simulation results show that the proposed analysis and control method can effectively derive the characteristics and improve the motion performance,which provides the primary theoretical guide for the configuration design,optimization and control research of multi-DOF deflection type actuators.展开更多

Using joint minimum mean square error(MMSE) filter, the receiving decoding matrix is designed for each user in the paper. Source precoding (beamforming) matrix is optimized with convex function of weight mean square error (MSE). Relay precoding matrix is obtained under MSE decomposition and convex optimization. The precoding matrix index is fed back for clustered subcarrier of OFDM with limited feedback. Then using interpolation algorithm, all precoding matrices are achieved at base station (BS) and relay nodes. Simulations indicate the effectiveness of the proposed limited feedback joint precoding and beam_formlng design. The proposed method can improve bit error rate (BER) performance and obtain better sum-rate performance in contrast to existing algorithms. The theoretic analyses show that the inadequacy of the eigenvalue spread of the tap-input correlation matrix is ameliorated, thus the convergence performance is improved greatly. A multi-type ant system(MTAS) algorithm hybridized with the ant colony system(ACS)and the max-min ant system(MMAS) algorithms is proposed. This combination absorbs the merits of the two algorithms in solutions construction and optimization separately. In order to improve the efficiency of the insertion procedure, a nearest neighbor selection(NNS) mechanism, an insertion local search procedure and a local optimization procedure are specified in detail. And in order to find a balance between good scouting performance and fast convergence rate, an adaptive pheromone updating strategy is proposed in the MTAS. Computational results confirm the MTAS algorithm's good performance with all these strategies on classic vehicle routing problem with time windows(VRPTW) benchmark instances and the TDVRPTW instances, and some better results especially for the number of vehicles and travel times of the best solutions are obtained in comparison with the previous research.展开更多
What is pursued by multi-product type and variant volume(MPTVV) production is rapid response and quick switching,so that structure of transferring line in manufacturing system is no longer unalterable.Cell formation...What is pursued by multi-product type and variant volume(MPTVV) production is rapid response and quick switching,so that structure of transferring line in manufacturing system is no longer unalterable.Cell formation(CF) algorithm is the key technology of cellular manufacturing system(CMS).Currently,CF methods are mainly extended on the idea of group technology(GT) that covers a lot on analysis of resource capability matching and its algorithm.Various constraints are considered,but seldom utilized comprehensively.Aimed to the problem of manufacturing cell(MC) formation under MPTVV production mode,integrated formation technologies for typical MC as group type of cell(GC),flow type of cell(FC) and inherited cell(IC) are presented based on technical analysis of CF.Oriented to practical production constraints like delivery time,product batch,equipment ability,key machine,key part and machine sharing,etc,an integrated formation model is constructed and internal interrelations of these constraints are analyzed synthetically.Ulteriorly,formation goals of types of MCs and their formation procedures under joint effect of formation constraints and rules are spread.In case study,three highly balanced GC are formed first;then FC formation are implemented based on the same data which indicate good balancing effect of cell load and flow-style production for key tasks;When task is adjusted,a new scheme is constructed on the result of FC configuration by using IC formation method,and more optimal performance of flow-style production is manifested.The proposed comparative study of different type of cells strongly explains the validation of integrated MC formation in support of rapid manufacturing resource transformation under MPTVV production mode.展开更多

However, the measurement i...Estimation of lateral displacement and acceleration responses is essential to assess safety and serviceability of high-rise buildings under dynamic loadings including earthquake excitations. However, the measurement information from the limited number of sensors installed in a building structure is often insufficient for the complete structural performance assessment. An integrated multi-type sensor placement and response reconstruction method has thus been proposed by the authors to tackle this problem. To validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method, an experimental investigation using a cantilever beam with multi-type sensors is performed and reported in this paper. The experimental setup is first introduced. The finite element modelling and model updating of the cantilever beam are then performed. The optimal sensor placement for the best response reconstruction is determined by the proposed method based on the updated FE model of the beam. After the sensors are installed on the physical cantilever beam, a number of experiments are carried out. The responses at key locations are reconstructed and compared with the measured ones. The reconstructed responses achieve a good match with the measured ones, manifesting the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. Besides, the proposed method is also examined for the cases of different excitations and unknown excitation, and the results prove the proposed method to be robust and effective. The superiority of the optimized sensor placement scheme is finally demonstrated through comparison with two other different sensor placement schemes: the accelerometer-only scheme and non-optimal sensor placement scheme. The proposed method can be applied to high-rise buildings for seismic performance assessment.展开更多

The analysis is based on the effect of anomalous resista...The multi-radiation of X-rays was investigated with special attention to their energy spectrum in a Mather-type plasma focus device (operated with argon gas). The analysis is based on the effect of anomalous resistances. To study the energy spectrum, a four-channel diode X-ray spectrometer was used along with a special set of filters. The filters were suitable for detection of medium range X-rays as well as hard X-rays with energy exceeding 30 keV. The results indicate that the anomalous resistivity effect during the post pinch phase may cause multi-radiation of X-rays with a total duration of 300 ± 50 ns. The significant contribution of Cu-Kα was due to the medium range X-rays, nonetheless, hard X-rays with energies greater than 15 keV also participate in the process. The total emitted X-ray energy in the forms of Cu-K and Cu-K/3 was around 0.14 ± 0.02 (J/Sr) and 0.04 ±0.01 (J/Sr), respectively. The total energy of the emitted hard X-ray (〉 15 keV) was around 0.12± 0.02 (J/Sr).展开更多

Simulation results show that the proposed ZFBF scheme with receiver antenna selection (ZFBF-AS) achieves considerable throughput improvement over the ZFBF scheme with single receiver antenna. The results also show that, with multi-user diversity, the ZFBF-AS scheme approaches the throughput performance of the ZFBF scheme using all receiver antennas (ZFBF-WO-AS) when the base station adopts semi-orthogonal user selection (SUS) algorithm, and achieves larger throughput when the base station adopts the Round-robin scheduling algorithm. Compared with ZFBF-WO-AS, the proposed ZFBF-AS scheme can reduce the cost of user equipments and the channel state information requirement at the transmitter (CSIT) as well as the multiuser scheduling complexity at the transmitter.展开更多

Based on this common assumption, this paper proposes a theoretical model to examine user influence on the information multi-step communication in a micro-biog. The multi-steps of information communication are divided into first-step and non-first-step, and user influence is classified into five dimensions. Actual data from the Sina micro-blog is collected to construct the model by means of an approach based on structural equations that uses the Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique. Our experimental results indicate that the dimensions of the number of fans and their authority significantly impact the information of first-step conxrnunication. Leader rank has a positive impact on both first-step and non-first-step communication. Moreover, global centrality and weight of friends are positively related to the information non-first-step communication, but authority is found to have much less relation to it.展开更多

In most of previous studies, it is always assumed that the base station (BS) knows full channel state information (CSI) of each user, which does not consider the reality. However, there are only limited feedback bits in real system. Besides, user fairness is often ignored in most of current user selection schemes. To discuss the user fairness and limited feedback, in this paper, the user selection scheme with limited feedback bits is proposed. The BS utilizes codebook precoding transmitting strategy with LTE codebook. Furthermore, this paper analyzes the influence of the number of feedback bits and the number of users on user fairness and system sum capacity. Simulation results show that in order to achieve better user fairness, we can use fewer bits for feedback CSI when the number of user is small, and more feedback bits when the number of users is large.展开更多

The performance of such systems depends on the accuracy of the...Interleaved Division Multiple Access (IDMA) is a new access scheme that has been proposed in the literature to increase the capacity of wireless channels. The performance of such systems depends on the accuracy of the channel state information at the receiver. In this paper, a Noisy-Independent Component Analysis (N-ICA) based IDMA receiver for multiple access communication channels is proposed. The N-ICA component is applied as a post processor. Unlike other IDMA receivers, the proposed scheme detects and separates the transmitted symbols without channel state information tracking. The performance of the proposed technique is presented in terms of raw bit error rate (BER) without channel coding for different signal to noise ratios (SNR). Simulation results demonstrate that N-ICA post processor provides an improvement in performance in terms of bit error rate (BER) in loaded systems. When the system is not loaded, the proposed post processor presents the same performance as conventional IDMA receiver with less iterations leading to a complexity reduction.展开更多
This paper introduces a video application-aware cross-layer framework for joint performance-energy optimization,considering the scenario of multiple users upstreaming real-time Motion JPEG2000 video streams to the acc...This paper introduces a video application-aware cross-layer framework for joint performance-energy optimization,considering the scenario of multiple users upstreaming real-time Motion JPEG2000 video streams to the access point of a WiFi wireless local area network and extends the PHY-MAC run-time cross-layer scheduling strategy that we introduced in (Mangharam et al., 2005; Pollin et al., 2005) to also consider congested network situations where video packets have to be dropped. We show that an optimal solution at PHY-MAC level can be highly suboptimal at application level, and then show that making the cross-layer framework application-aware through a prioritized dropping policy capitalizing on the inherent scalability of Motion JPEG2000 video streams leads to drastic average video quality improvements and inter-user quality variation reductions of as much as 10 dB PSNR, without affecting the overall energy consumption requirements.展开更多

In order to improve the efficiency of the insertion procedure, a nearest neighbor selection(NNS) mechanism, an insertion local search procedure and a local optimization procedure are specified in detail. And in order to find a balance between good scouting performance and fast convergence rate, an adaptive pheromone updating strategy is proposed in the MTAS. Computational results confirm the MTAS algorithm's good performance with all these strategies on classic vehicle routing problem with time windows(VRPTW) benchmark instances and the TDVRPTW instances, and some better results especially for the number of vehicles and travel times of the best solutions are obtained in comparison with the previous research.

文摘What is pursued by multi-product type and variant volume(MPTVV) production is rapid response and quick switching,so that structure of transferring line in manufacturing system is no longer unalterable.Cell formation(CF) algorithm is the key technology of cellular manufacturing system(CMS).Currently,CF methods are mainly extended on the idea of group technology(GT) that covers a lot on analysis of resource capability matching and its algorithm.Various constraints are considered,but seldom utilized comprehensively.Aimed to the problem of manufacturing cell(MC) formation under MPTVV production mode,integrated formation technologies for typical MC as group type of cell(GC),flow type of cell(FC) and inherited cell(IC) are presented based on technical analysis of CF.Oriented to practical production constraints like delivery time,product batch,equipment ability,key machine,key part and machine sharing,etc,an integrated formation model is constructed and internal interrelations of these constraints are analyzed synthetically.Ulteriorly,formation goals of types of MCs and their formation procedures under joint effect of formation constraints and rules are spread.In case study,three highly balanced GC are formed first;then FC formation are implemented based on the same data which indicate good balancing effect of cell load and flow-style production for key tasks;When task is adjusted,a new scheme is constructed on the result of FC configuration by using IC formation method,and more optimal performance of flow-style production is manifested.The proposed comparative study of different type of cells strongly explains the validation of integrated MC formation in support of rapid manufacturing resource transformation under MPTVV production mode.

文摘Estimation of lateral displacement and acceleration responses is essential to assess safety and serviceability of high-rise buildings under dynamic loadings including earthquake excitations. However, the measurement information from the limited number of sensors installed in a building structure is often insufficient for the complete structural performance assessment. An integrated multi-type sensor placement and response reconstruction method has thus been proposed by the authors to tackle this problem. To validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method, an experimental investigation using a cantilever beam with multi-type sensors is performed and reported in this paper. The experimental setup is first introduced. The finite element modelling and model updating of the cantilever beam are then performed. The optimal sensor placement for the best response reconstruction is determined by the proposed method based on the updated FE model of the beam. After the sensors are installed on the physical cantilever beam, a number of experiments are carried out. The responses at key locations are reconstructed and compared with the measured ones. The reconstructed responses achieve a good match with the measured ones, manifesting the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. Besides, the proposed method is also examined for the cases of different excitations and unknown excitation, and the results prove the proposed method to be robust and effective. The superiority of the optimized sensor placement scheme is finally demonstrated through comparison with two other different sensor placement schemes: the accelerometer-only scheme and non-optimal sensor placement scheme. The proposed method can be applied to high-rise buildings for seismic performance assessment.

文摘For reducing the inter-user interference in multi-user multiple-input multiple-output(MU-MIMO) wireless communication systems,e.g.,MIMO-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(MIMO-OFDM) systems,it is often desirable to the complex preprocessing at the transmitter.This paper proposes a multi-user beamforming algorithm with sub-codebook selection.Based on the minimal leakage criterion,the codebook selection,limited feed-forward and minimum mean square error(MMSE) detection are combined in the proposed algorithm.This avoids the complex channel matrix decomposition and inversion.Consequently,the computational complexity at the transmitter is significantly reduced.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs better than existing beamforming algorithms.
文摘Multi-user detection (MUD) based on multirate transmission in code division multiple access (CDMA) system is discussed. Under the requirement of signal interference ratio (SIR) detection at base station and framework with parallel interference cancellation, a supervision decision algorithm based on pre-decision of probabilistic data association (PDA) and hard decision is proposed. The detection performance is analyzed and simulation is implemented to show that the supervision decision algorithm improves the detection performance effectively.
文摘The multi-radiation of X-rays was investigated with special attention to their energy spectrum in a Mather-type plasma focus device (operated with argon gas). The analysis is based on the effect of anomalous resistances. To study the energy spectrum, a four-channel diode X-ray spectrometer was used along with a special set of filters. The filters were suitable for detection of medium range X-rays as well as hard X-rays with energy exceeding 30 keV. The results indicate that the anomalous resistivity effect during the post pinch phase may cause multi-radiation of X-rays with a total duration of 300 ± 50 ns. The significant contribution of Cu-Kα was due to the medium range X-rays, nonetheless, hard X-rays with energies greater than 15 keV also participate in the process. The total emitted X-ray energy in the forms of Cu-K and Cu-K/3 was around 0.14 ± 0.02 (J/Sr) and 0.04 ±0.01 (J/Sr), respectively. The total energy of the emitted hard X-ray (〉 15 keV) was around 0.12± 0.02 (J/Sr).

文摘A study on the zero-forcing beamforming (ZFBF) scheme with antenna selection at user terminals in downlink multi-antenna multi-user systems is presented. Simulation results show that the proposed ZFBF scheme with receiver antenna selection (ZFBF-AS) achieves considerable throughput improvement over the ZFBF scheme with single receiver antenna. The results also show that, with multi-user diversity, the ZFBF-AS scheme approaches the throughput performance of the ZFBF scheme using all receiver antennas (ZFBF-WO-AS) when the base station adopts semi-orthogonal user selection (SUS) algorithm, and achieves larger throughput when the base station adopts the Round-robin scheduling algorithm. Compared with ZFBF-WO-AS, the proposed ZFBF-AS scheme can reduce the cost of user equipments and the channel state information requirement at the transmitter (CSIT) as well as the multiuser scheduling complexity at the transmitter.

文摘User influence is generally considered as one of the most critical factors that affect information cascading spreading. Based on this common assumption, this paper proposes a theoretical model to examine user influence on the information multi-step communication in a micro-biog. The multi-steps of information communication are divided into first-step and non-first-step, and user influence is classified into five dimensions. Actual data from the Sina micro-blog is collected to construct the model by means of an approach based on structural equations that uses the Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique. Our experimental results indicate that the dimensions of the number of fans and their authority significantly impact the information of first-step conxrnunication. Leader rank has a positive impact on both first-step and non-first-step communication. Moreover, global centrality and weight of friends are positively related to the information non-first-step communication, but authority is found to have much less relation to it.
文摘In Multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) downlink system, suitable user selection schemes can improve spatial diversity gain. In most of previous studies, it is always assumed that the base station (BS) knows full channel state information (CSI) of each user, which does not consider the reality. However, there are only limited feedback bits in real system. Besides, user fairness is often ignored in most of current user selection schemes. To discuss the user fairness and limited feedback, in this paper, the user selection scheme with limited feedback bits is proposed. The BS utilizes codebook precoding transmitting strategy with LTE codebook. Furthermore, this paper analyzes the influence of the number of feedback bits and the number of users on user fairness and system sum capacity. Simulation results show that in order to achieve better user fairness, we can use fewer bits for feedback CSI when the number of user is small, and more feedback bits when the number of users is large.
文摘Interleaved Division Multiple Access (IDMA) is a new access scheme that has been proposed in the literature to increase the capacity of wireless channels. The performance of such systems depends on the accuracy of the channel state information at the receiver. In this paper, a Noisy-Independent Component Analysis (N-ICA) based IDMA receiver for multiple access communication channels is proposed. The N-ICA component is applied as a post processor. Unlike other IDMA receivers, the proposed scheme detects and separates the transmitted symbols without channel state information tracking. The performance of the proposed technique is presented in terms of raw bit error rate (BER) without channel coding for different signal to noise ratios (SNR). Simulation results demonstrate that N-ICA post processor provides an improvement in performance in terms of bit error rate (BER) in loaded systems. When the system is not loaded, the proposed post processor presents the same performance as conventional IDMA receiver with less iterations leading to a complexity reduction.
文摘This paper introduces a video application-aware cross-layer framework for joint performance-energy optimization,considering the scenario of multiple users upstreaming real-time Motion JPEG2000 video streams to the access point of a WiFi wireless local area network and extends the PHY-MAC run-time cross-layer scheduling strategy that we introduced in (Mangharam et al., 2005; Pollin et al., 2005) to also consider congested network situations where video packets have to be dropped. We show that an optimal solution at PHY-MAC level can be highly suboptimal at application level, and then show that making the cross-layer framework application-aware through a prioritized dropping policy capitalizing on the inherent scalability of Motion JPEG2000 video streams leads to drastic average video quality improvements and inter-user quality variation reductions of as much as 10 dB PSNR, without affecting the overall energy consumption requirements.
