On multi-dimensional vocabulary teaching mode for college English teaching

This paper analyses the major approaches in EFL （English as a Foreign Language） vocabulary teaching from historical perspective and puts forward multi-dimensional vocabulary teaching mode for college English. The author stresses that multi-dimensional approaches of communicative vocabulary teaching, lexical phrase teaching method, the grammar translation approach as well as audio-lingual method should be adopted, tasks should be designed and context be constructed to improve learners＇ vocabulary acquiring competence and language competence.

Research and Application of Multi-Dimensional and Three-Dimensional Teaching in Geriatric Nursing Teaching in the Context of Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Purpose:Study the specific application effect of multi-dimensional and three-dimensional teaching in Geriatric Nursing teaching in the context of mass entrepreneurship and innovation.Methods:Respectively select 80 nursing undergraduates of 2015 and 80 nursing undergraduates of 2014 in our school as the research object of the experimental group and the control group.In terms of Geriatric Nursing teaching,nursing students in the control group adopt traditional classroom teaching methods to carry out,while students in the experimental group adopt multi-dimensional and three-dimensional teaching in the context of mass entrepreneurship and innovation.Then observe and compare the geriatric nursing knowledge scoring as well as theory and practice assessment results in the two groups taught with different methods.Results:It's obvious that the scoring of nursing students in the experimental group is higher than those in the control group in respect of geriatric nursing knowledge,and statistical significance exists in the between-group differences(P<0.05).The nursing students in the experimental group perform obviously better than those in the control group in terms of the results of theory,practice and comprehensive assessment as well as total score,and statistical significance exists in the between-group differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:Implementing Geriatric Nursing teaching for higher education nursing undergraduates with multi-dimensional and three-dimensional teaching in the context of mass entrepreneurship and innovation can remarkably improve nursing students'cognitive level in geriatric nursing as well as their mastery degree of theoretical,practical and comprehensive knowledge.Thus,the multi-dimensional and three-dimensional teaching mode in the context of mass entrepreneurship and innovation makes 80 nursing undergraduates of 2015 in our school direct beneficiaries,which could be popularized and applied in medical colleges.

Construction and Optimization of English Linguistic System in the Context of Multi-dimensional Perspective and Interactive Teaching

With the improvement of the quality education in our country, the teaching reform of college English teaching has been carried out. In the college English teaching system, we need the network-based autonomous teaching mode, and effective evaluation system of English teaching is also necessary. A complete set of teaching evaluation system can truly reffect the teaching effect, and can promote the optimization of teaching activities as well. Therefore, in order to realize the effectiveness of English teaching and to expand the diversifi ed teaching mode, we need to build a complete set of English language system. Application of Learning Style Theory in an English-teaching Activity

Language teaching is demanding.The focus of language teachers nowadays has been extended to a broader area.In the TESOL context,the findings and research of learning style have raised the attention of language teachers,who have to take the responsibility to study how to improve the teaching results according to different learners.This essay attempts to demonstrate a language-teaching activity in a typical English class and discuss the application of learning style theory in it so as to improve the practical English teaching in China.

Innovation and Practice of the Concept of“Post-Course-Competition-Certificate”in Nursing Professional Experimental Teaching from the Perspective of Multidimensional Education Theory

[Objective]From the perspective of multi-dimensional education theory,explore the situation of the concept of“Post-Course-Competition-Certificate”in nursing professional experimental teaching.[Methods]Through investigation and research,collect relevant data on the concept of“Post-Course-Competition-Certificate”in nursing major,including the understanding degree of the concept,the cognition of the role in nursing major learning,the cognition of the importance of each part,the participation degree,practical operation problems and overall satisfaction,etc.[Results]The survey found that the proportion of those who have a deep understanding of the concept of“Post-Course-Competition-Certificate”is low(very understanding 12.45%,relatively understanding 14.16%),and most are at the general level or below;most respondents recognize that this concept has a positive effect on nursing major learning,especially in improving practical ability(80.13%agree);post practice is considered the most important(accounting for 57.02%),but the participation degree in course learning is the highest(65.94%);insufficient practical opportunities(61.81%)and the disconnection between courses and practice(52.39%)are prominent problems in practical operations;on the whole,most respondents have a positive attitude towards this concept(very satisfied 28.82%,relatively satisfied 36.87%),but there are still a small number of dissatisfied people.[Conclusion]The concept of“Post-Course-Competition-Certificate”has important value in nursing major learning,but its popularization degree needs to be improved,and there are many problems in practical operations.When promoting this concept in nursing professional experimental teaching,existing problems should be solved and the needs of a small number of people should be paid attention to so as to improve the overall effect.

Teachers’Characteristics and Teaching Styles as Determinants of Students’Achievement in Senior Secondary Schools Civics and English Language in Osun State,Nigeria

The study examined the status of senior secondary schools’students’achievement in Civic Education and English Language in Osun State.It also investigated the Civic Education and English Language teachers’characteristics in the state and determined the teaching styles of Civic Education and English Language teachers in the study areas and finally assessed the influence of teachers’characteristics and teaching styles on students’achievement in secondary schools Civic Education and English Language.The study adopted Discriminant Analysis.The study sample consisted of 600 senior secondary school students,30 Civics teachers,and 30 English Language teachers that were selected using multi-stage sampling procedure.Four instruments were constructed and validated before use.Three research questions were asked and answered while one hypothesis was tested and verified.The results among others showed that more than 50%of the students that participated in the study had high status of achievement in Civic Education while more than 40%of English Language students that participated in the study had low status of achievement.The study also showed that teachers’characteristics pertinent to both Civic Education teachers and English Language teachers were,effective discipline skills(Civics,M=1.20,SD=0.407;English,M=1.40,SD=0.498)and good communication with parents(Civics,M=1.43,SD=0.504;English,M=1.40,SD=0.498).In addition,there was significant influence of teachers’characteristics and teaching styles on students’achievement in Civics and English Language in senior secondary schools(X^2(2)=16.37,p<0.05).The study concluded that teachers’characteristics and teaching styles are major determinants of students’achievement in Civic Education and English Language.

Effective combination of learning styles and college English teaching

Students preferentially take in and process information in different ways, and teaching methods also should vary accordingly. How much a student can learn is also determined by the compatibility of the student＇s learning styles and the teacher＇s teaching styles. It is important for teachers to know their learners＇ preferred learning styles because this knowledge will help teachers to plan their lessons to match or adapt their teaching and to provide the most appropriate activities to suit a particular learner group.

Materials Development for Adult Learners in Teaching Vocabulary

Considering the special needs and the learning styles of their learners, foreign language teachers should use the most effective methods or approaches which are appropriate for their teaching strategies. Redundant or a diverse range of teaching techniques are not meant to use in the process of their learners＇ acquiring new vocabulary items; instead, the most effective and to the point teaching techniques in terms of each language skill should be employed.
