A Revision Model in Writing for Novice Writers with a Focus on Audience and Feedback

Revision is a complex,yet important phase in writing to improve the quality of a text.Some revision models are created to explain its components and the ways these components work.However,analysis of available models ... Revision is a complex,yet important phase in writing to improve the quality of a text.Some revision models are created to explain its components and the ways these components work.However,analysis of available models shows that they are proposed mainly for expert writers,who can complete the complex revision process individually,without the need of support or feedback.Most of the available revision models also do not include audience as a component.Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to introduce an alternative revision model for novice writers at or higher than highschool level with a focus on audience and feedback.First,the definition of revision is made,which is followed by summaries of the importance of audience and feedback in writing.Second,available revision models in literature that serves as the basis of the alternative model are reviewed.Finally,the alternative revision model is introduced with its components and the way these components work is explained.The revision model presented in this paper will contribute to literature on writing by filling the gap in revision models by proposing a model for novice writers and highlighting the importance of audience and feedback. 展开更多

Vocabulary knowledge is an important component of the writing skill and it has many dimensions, such as size, depth, and productive, in interaction with writing skill. To evaluate this relation and determine which dimension is the most effective for second language writing quality, the present study was conducted. Turkish EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners' lexical competence and writing abilities were examined through their vocabulary profiles and academic essays. The results of each vocabulary measure indicated that the participants had a limited vocabulary size, containing words mostly from 2,000 to 3,000 frequency bands and thus, the productive vocabulary knowledge of the participants mostly consisted of lk + 2k words and the use of academic words in their essays was very low. The results of the study revealed that the lexical competence covering the main components of vocabulary knowledge was a good predictor of the students' quality of writing performance. 展开更多

Radio Frequency IDentification(RFID)and related technologies such as Near Field Communication(NFC)are becoming essential in industrial contexts thanks to their ability to perform contactless data exchange,either device-to-device or tag-to-device.One of the three main operation modes of NFC,called read/write mode,makes use of the latter type of interaction.It is extensively used in business information systems that make use of NFC tags to provide the end-user with augmented information in one of several available NFC data exchange formats,such as plain text,simple URLs or enriched URLs.Using a wide variety of physical form factors,NFC-compatible tags(wireless transponders)are currently available in many locations with applications going from smart posters,contactless tokens,tap-and-go payments or transport ticketing to automated device configuration,patient identification at hospitals or inventory management within supply chains.Most of these applications handle sensitive processes or data.This paper proposes a complete security threat model for the read/write operation mode of NFC used in Next Generation Industrial IoT(Nx-IIoT)contexts.This model,based on a wellknown methodology,STRIDE,allows developers and users to identify NFC applications vulnerabilities or weaknesses,analyze potential threats,propose risk management strategies,and design mitigation mechanisms to mention only some significant examples. 展开更多

A systematic printability study of direct ink writing towards high-resolution rapid manufacturing

Direct ink writing(DIW)holds enormous potential in fabricating multiscale and multi-functional architectures by virtue of its wide range of printable materials,simple operation,and ease of rapid prototyping.Although it is well known that ink rheology and processing parameters have a direct impact on the resolution and shape of the printed objects,the underlying mechanisms of these key factors on the printability and quality of DIW technique remain poorly understood.To tackle this issue,we systematically analyzed the printability and quality through extrusion mechanism modeling and experimental validating.Hybrid non-Newtonian fluid inks were first prepared,and their rheological properties were measured.Then,finite element analysis of the whole DIW process was conducted to reveal the flow dynamics of these inks.The obtained optimal process parameters(ink rheology,applied pressure,printing speed,etc)were also validated by experiments where high-resolution(<100μm)patterns were fabricated rapidly(>70 mm s^(-1)).Finally,as a process research demonstration,we printed a series of microstructures and circuit systems with hybrid inks and silver inks,showing the suitability of the printable process parameters.This study provides a strong quantitative illustration of the use of DIW for the high-speed preparation of high-resolution,high-precision samples. 展开更多

The aim of this study is to analyze the difficulties of reading and writing experienced by primary school pupils when writing a script for a theatrical performance called "digestion". Our main research questions are: how does a theatrical performance help to reconsider the scripts and to build a model of the digestive system? The pupils were encouraged to stage a theatrical performance for the whole school, explaining the digestion of a sandwich, a glass of water, an apple and a piece of chewing gum. The play helped to develop not only knowledge but also language. Having to produce a text for two different audiences, teachers and other learners led the students to debate between using "academic" vocabulary or more everyday vocabulary. Overall we found that they were more concerned with writing "academic" scripts, influenced by the texts that they consulted, than with writing a play accessible to all audiences. 展开更多

为了实现金属熔融三维直写工艺过程的控形控性,开展锌铝合金熔融三维直写成形尺寸建模与组织分析研究。首先,以锌铝合金熔融直写的最小控制单元单道成形为研究对象,采用多元非线性回归方法拟合成形道宽,将成形特征参数w作为响应变量,D和... 为了实现金属熔融三维直写工艺过程的控形控性,开展锌铝合金熔融三维直写成形尺寸建模与组织分析研究。首先,以锌铝合金熔融直写的最小控制单元单道成形为研究对象,采用多元非线性回归方法拟合成形道宽,将成形特征参数w作为响应变量,D和H作为预测变量,进行回归分析;其次,建立不同工艺参数下单道成形尺寸参数模型,并对模型进行拟合度校验;最后,对单道成形流固耦合过程进行数值模拟,分析典型凝固组织,通过引入熔融直写成形重熔预备时间tr,预测计算成形中层间结合效果好的工艺参数。研究结果表明:在单道成形道宽预测模型中,喷嘴直径D是影响成形道宽的第一要素,其次是喷嘴距成形底板高度H;当成形轨迹宽度近似等于凝固层宽度时,这是成形下一层的最佳时间。 展开更多

病历导师制教学方式在病历书写教学中的应用

目的 探讨病历导师制教学方式在病历书写教学中的应用效果。方法 选取2022年4月至2022年9月在浙江大学医学院附属第一医院、浙江大学医学院附属第二医院和浙江大学医学院附属邵逸夫医院进行内科学实习的本校2015级八年制临床医学专业共5... 目的 探讨病历导师制教学方式在病历书写教学中的应用效果。方法 选取2022年4月至2022年9月在浙江大学医学院附属第一医院、浙江大学医学院附属第二医院和浙江大学医学院附属邵逸夫医院进行内科学实习的本校2015级八年制临床医学专业共57名学生作为研究对象。将在浙江大学医学院附属第一医院进行内科学实习的19名学生设为试验组,采用病历导师制教学方式;将在浙江大学医学院附属第二医院和浙江大学医学院附属邵逸夫医院进行内科学实习的38名学生设为对照组,采用传统教学方式。18周内科学实习结束后,采用病历书写标准化考核方式,比较两组学生病历书写成绩的差异,并对试验组学生开展有关病历导师制教学满意度的问卷调查。结果 试验组学生的病历书写考核成绩为(87.34±5.38)分,对照组学生的病历书写考核成绩为(79.64±9.89)分,其差异具有统计学意义(P<0.001);试验组学生对病历导师制教学方式给予高度认可,其病历教学时间、教学内容、教学方式的认可度评分分别为(9.21±0.71)分、(8.53±0.77)分、(8.89±0.66)分。结论 病历导师制教学方式有助于提高医学生的病历书写能力,获得医学生的高度认可,未来值得进一步推广。 展开更多
