The conclusion wasdrawn through questionnaires that the multi-dimensional mode, as a mode of learning based on the multi-sensory experience of students, couldprovide students with broader space for free development and exploration. In this paper,we analyze the spectra of the preconditioned matrices arising from discretized multi-dimensional Riesz spatial fractional diffusion equations.The finite difference method is employed to approximate the multi-dimensional Riesz fractional derivatives,which generates symmetric positive definite ill-conditioned multi-level Toeplitz matrices.The preconditioned conjugate gradient method with a preconditioner based on the sine transform is employed to solve the resulting linear system.Theoretically,we prove that the spectra of the preconditioned matrices are uniformly bounded in the open interval(12,32)and thus the preconditioned conjugate gradient method converges linearly within an iteration number independent of the discretization step-size.Moreover,the proposed method can be extended to handle ill-conditioned multi-level Toeplitz matrices whose blocks are generated by functions with zeros of fractional order.Our theoretical results fill in a vacancy in the literature.Numerical examples are presented to show the convergence performance of the proposed preconditioner that is better than other preconditioners. 展开更多

Urban Transition Dynamics in the Regional Rescaling of the Pearl River Delta Area:a Qualitative Approach

The Pearl River Delta region has been the hub of urban vibrancy and boom ever since the country’s opening up and devolution reforms.However,the political and economic institutions of the cities in this region are so different and complicated that they pose great challenges to the integration of the whole region.This study takes one prominent experiment of urban expansion,Hengqin in Zhuhai,as a case study to investigate how institutional innovations are forged and managed to boost urban development and transitions towards sustainable growth and regional integration.We adopt a multi-level perspective framework to analyze Hengqin’s urban transition.Government archives,master plans,various documents and interviews with government officials,planners,residents,and businesses from Zhuhai,Hong Kong,and Macao are chosen as sources of the analysis,which delineates the complex interactions from a variety of stakeholders.Despite difficulties in the early days,Hengqin is now transitioning quickly,although still confronted with inter-scalar challenges.A better understanding of the governance and economic innovations that have taken place,and the investment-driven development strategies involved,will help shed light on the urban transition of other similar city regions. 展开更多

Characteristics of the transient thermal load and deformation of the evacuated receiver in solar parabolic trough collector 被引量:2

As a core element in solar parabolic trough collector, the evaluated receiver often runs under severe thermal conditions. Worse still, the transient thermal load is more likely to cause structural deformation and damage. This work develops an efficient transient multi-level multi-dimensional(M2) analysis method to address photo-thermal-elastic problems, thereby estimating transient thermal load and deformation for the receiver:(i) one-dimensional(1-D) thermo-hydraulic model is adopted to determine the transient thermo-hydraulic state,(ii) 3-D finite volume method(FVM) model for the receiver tube is established to obtain the real-time temperature distribution,(iii) 3-D finite element method(FEM) model is employed to make thermoelastic analysis. Based on this M2 method, the typical transient cases are conducted in cold-start, disturbed-operation and regulatedprocess. Three indicators(average temperature of the wall(ATW), radial temperature difference(RTD), circumferential temperature difference(CTD)) are defined for overall analysis of the receiver thermal load. It is found that in the transient process,receivers face response delay and endure significant thermal load fluctuation. The response time for a single HCE(heat collecting element) under lower mass flow rate(1.5 kg s-1) could sustain 280 s. During the cold-start stage(DNI=200 W m-2 to 800 W m-2), the maximum value of CTD in receiver is as high as 11.67℃, corresponding to a maximum deflection of 1.05 cm.When the mass flow rate decreases sharply by 80%, the CTD reaches 33.04℃, causing a 2.06-cm deflection. It should be pointed out that in the cold-start stage and the lower mass flow rate operation for solar parabolic trough collector, alleviating the transient thermal load and deformation is of importance for safely and efficiently running evaluated receiver. 展开更多

This study extends the ambit of the debate on electricity transitionby specifically identifying possible policy entry points through which transformative and enduring changes can be made in the electricity and socio-economic systems to facilitate the transition process.Guided by the"essence"of the multi-level perspective-a prominent framework for the study of energy transition,four such entry points have been identified:1)destabilising the dominant,fossil fuel-based electricity regime to create room for renewable technologies tobreak through;2)reconfiguring the electricity regime,which encompasses technology,short-term operational practices and long-term planning processes,to improve flexibility for accommodating large outputs from variable renewable sources whilst maintaining supply security;3)addressing the impactofcoal power phase-outon coal mining regions in terms of economic development and jobs;and 4)facilitating a shift in transition governance towards a learning-based,reflexive process.Specific areas for policy interventions within each of these entry points have also been discussed in the paper. 展开更多

Generic Variation & Private Intention: A MultiDimensional Exploration of Book Reviews and Prefaces

Based on Bhatia's multi-dimensional analytical framework for discourse analysis, we explore key issues involved in genres construction such as private intention, manipulation of generic value and interdiscursive strategies. Two prefaces and two book reviews by expert linguists were collected and analyzed at great length from both text-internal and text-external perspectives. Meanwhile, four professionals from relevant disciplines were interviewed for their insights into the issues investigated. Through examining textual features, covert interdiscursivity and narrative accounts of the professional writers, the following findings are generated. 1) Generic variation occurs within and between the two genres due to expert writers' intentional manipulation of generic value. 2) Interdiscursive strategies like "genre embedding", "genre bending" and "genre mixing" are exploited by expert writers to achieve their particular private intention. Specifically, preface genre can be presented, to some extent, as a research article mixed with some promotional flavor, and features of research article genre, promotional genre and introductory genre are found mixed in the review genre. 3) Representations of the preface and book review genres such as linguistic feature, move structure and interdiscursivity are ultimately affected by generic value, authors' private intention, professional practice and disciplinary culture. The findings have important implications for ESP/EAP writing practitioners and learners. 展开更多
